Just did my first "Insanity" Max workout! Wow!
I've been increasing my workouts the last several months and on most Mondays and Thursdays I follow my one-hour weight training session with an hour-long, very intense spinning class. Today I thought I'd change it up and take a leap into the Insanity workout instead of spin. Well, it was definitely In.Sane!! But I did the entire hour - not too bad for a 59 yr old Gramma! The teacher kind of did a double take when he zipped over to help me with a new move cause that's when he saw I was a little older than the all the 30-somethings in class. But what was really great for me was to see all my past work 'payoff' for me when I tried - and succeeded - on new moves that I didn't even know I could do! Thank goodness for planks and squats, they really helped me today! Good teacher too, as for each set he showed us how to modify if needed; I actually didn't need to modify anything except for one jump move to save my knee. ;)
I am definitely doing this class again - gotta keep pushing!!
Awesome! I am pre surgery and I dream about being able to take fitness classes again. Seriously. I know it's weird since I avoided them like the plague for years... But I won't do that any more. Good for you, you are one fit grandma!
