Vickie....I am so glad you took the enter day off from everything yesterday. That is exactly what you needed. Do all the resting and relaxing you can do. You do take such wonderful care of Butch. I pray he starts eating better soon and that he can get his strength back before the chemo. God Bless you both.

As for me...the sun is brightly shining...-7 degrees with wind chill -29....high today 4. I am staying in!!! I don't want to go out and see all the Valentine's Day things...it makes me sad. 
I am just not use to spending this day alone. I know I can't go out because of the awful cold weather anyway.
I was going to do laundry, but I lost interest in that. I don't have much anyway. I just like to keep up with it.
I am getting samples of that "Thrive" I would love to lose my cravings for sweets!! It is pretty expensive. I will see how it works and then decide if I really want to get it. Which kind did you order?

I am glad you rested when you got back. As far as Butches tastebuds and olfactory senses, don't be surprised if he has spurts of wanting more seasoned food then wants only mush the next. Also he may be so sensitive to smell that scented soap will make him ill. The important thing is to keep him eating.

Happy Valentine Day to you too Vic and to everyone else. I am happy to say that last night, DH and I took our granddaughter out for her valentine's dinner, so she chose the restaurant and of course she chose Mexican, which isn't always healthy for DH or me and we picked heart healthy food. Well, he chose heart healthy; since I've had WLS, my cholesterol has been so low as has my blood pressure that the doctor's have me on a high fat diet. My doctor has me eating at least two servings a week of pork or shrimp...things that are high in animal fat. So, while DH ate his lean meat and beans with a lot of salad, I ate shrimp tacos, which were delicious. My granddaughter ate her usual bean burrito and refried beans. We exchanged valentines and took pictures. Normally the boys are with us but my older grandson is now dating and he and his girlfriend watched movies at my daughter's house and my Mathew couldn't resist hanging around his brother to be the chaperone. LOL. I told Mathew, you are going to miss a great night and he said, no...a great night is embarrassing my brother. Kids. We did exchange valentines with the two boys at the house...they got their valentines and 20 bucks each. DH bought me a new journal, the one he bought me a few years ago is full and so it was time for a new one. I bought him some new socks and underwear...we are definitely not the romantic types.
Vic, I hope your Butch has an easy day with good pain control. You need the break too my friend. If I lived near by, I'd come stay with him and have your daughters take you for a spa day and an overnight stay at a good place.
We are getting my sister in law ready to be treated at MDA. I am doing the online forms to get her an appointment. Her breast cancer is back and she isn't doing good. She keeps telling me that her doctor said that it's not in her breasts but the lymph node they biopsied in her groin came back breast cancer cells so it has metastasized but the doctors here cannot find the site...they found places on her lungs and one spot in her vertebrae and my sister in law just cannot make any decisions nor can my brother so I took charge and got her records and am getting her in MDA. They may say there isn't anything they can do, but at least they can treat her pain, of which she has so much. I have several weeks of unused time from my job so I am willing to take it as she needs it for trips to Houston. My older brother has a house there and said we could stay there during her treatments so we are getting ready to get started.

It sounds like you had a really great time with your granddaughter last night. She will remember those times and cherish them always. Your grandson sound like mine....I guess that is normal...whatever normal is...LOL!
I am so sorry to heard about your SIL's return of cancer. I am so glad you have taken charge and are getting the medical treatment she needs. I will be keeping her in my prayers and you as well. It is wonderful that you have a place to stay!!
I wish some of the others that lurk will post once again.

Oh, Jeannie, I'm sorry to hear about your SIL. Cancer is such a damn monster! I'm glad you are bringing her to MDA. Let me know when you are going to be there, okay? Maybe we can manage to have lunch together sometime. I would love that. If you can, get reservations at Rotary House. It's the hotel that is connected to MDA. So very convenient!!! You don't have to mess with parking and traffic at all. But reservations are tight there. Book as early as you possibly can. Hugs and prayers!

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY OFF FAMILY!!!!!
Rick bought me some beautiful flowers and a miniature red rose plant and also gave me a pretty necklace with a blue stone in it and an inscription that says I love being US with You on it. AWWW!!!! Also a pretty card. I gave him his peanut butter cups and some pistachios and a tshirt that has a beer mug on it and it says its It's BEER o'clock Somewhere. He loved it!!! We will go out for our dinner next week when its cheaper. LOL
Well we are getting hit with some ****ty weather again here!!!! Snow and dangerous wind chills!!!! And YES Hunny Bunny is already here...sighs....nothing keeps her away!!! Can count on her better than the postman!!! Right now we are under a Level 1 snow emergency. Roads are getting bad and the winds picking up blowing the snow. Supposed to get worse as the day goes on. Hope I can still go to Bingo tonight!!! I NEED to get AWAY from HERE for a FEW hours!!!
Finally had the chance to color my hair this morning!!! Came out dark to me. Oh well. Better than the gray in it!!! LOL
OK time to do those darn dishes!!! Maid just will not do them when we are working.

You never can tell with those hair colors. Kyleigh always has all different shade...all similar...she likes to change it up a bit. I am sure you look just beautiful...you always do!!!!
