We had a snow and ice storm blow through over the weekend.  I'm sure our little bit of snow pales insignificant to what so many of you live through; however, since AR sits on millions of little springs and underground rivers, our roads freeze at the drop of a hat with all the moisture.   Our winters are usually foggy and wet and we do get snow and ice and, especially in the Ozarks, the roads shut down.   So, we spent the entire weekend watching TV and trying to stay warm.   Also, the university was shut down yesterday and today it is opening late because of all the snow and ice.   We took our granddaughter home yesterday and the highway going down the mountain had only one lane on each direction open, but the lane that was open was clear; however, going across the Arkansas River bridge was awful.   They had treated it and tried to scrap it but it was frozen solid and fog made travel very scary.   Her mother was on the other side of the bridge and at one point, she said she would walk across to get her but I was afraid they would get hit by the traffic...so we drove across going very slowly and said our goodbyes and headed back across...Ive never seen the bridge in such a bad condition.

I'm drinking my coffee about to get ready for work and am so happy to see the sun shining.   For three days, we had fog, clouds, and snow and sleet...now the sun.   I hope that is the end of our bad weather.

I hope you guys have sunny days today too.   DH went outside to get the ice off of the car and he always reports the temperature and said, wow, it's 12 degrees.   I hope he is wrong and that the temperature is higher.    Today is going to be another long johns, insulated and layered shirts, and wool socks day.    My little stinker took home my fur lined boots...she said, but Nana, they are warm just right for my feet.   Stay warm sisters.

Good Afternoon Jeannie and everyone.....

You do the same as I do with our grandchildren. If they like something a lot I give it to them!! I love to see their happy faces!! I am glad you got your granddaughter safely to her mother, and that you made it home safely too.

It sounds like you have had some nasty weather too. I hope that is the end of it for you. I am glad you finally have some sunshine!! It looks so sunny and warm outside here today, but it sure isn't!! It is 2 degrees/windchill -14. At least the winds have died down some. I won't be going out again today!

I hope you have a good day at work. Be careful driving!

As for me...I am going for my first walk when finish posting here. After my walk I will have some lunch. Not sure what else I will do today. My sinuses are still bothering me, coughing too. I just took a Sudafed and some Dayquil. I am waiting to hear back from my doctor.

I will check back in later.

Wishing you all a beautiful day!!

Prayers for our wonderful OFF Family and their families.

Much love and many hugs for all.....connie d

Hi Jeannie and my OFF family:

Richard is in the kitchen cooking an early dinner and I have laundry going. This is about all I'm doing today. Two nights of early deadlines and I'm pooped. I slept nine hours last night and still I'm tired. We had six inches of snow here but people get so frightened over that little snow (I think it's little because I have lived in places where that's nothing). And it's going to get cold now ... 23 now but supposed to be like 9 tomorrow. Anyway, I have no reason to go out so I'm staying put.

Talked to mom and she sounds so happy in her new place, other than having to wait for someone to get her out of bed in the morning. She has no patience (so I know where I get it from). But otherwise, she likes it there. She wants to start walking the halls, as long as someone is there behind her in case she falls. She was very talkative, more so than usual.

Well, dinner's ready. Got to go.

Hi Eileen...I keep losing my replies to you....now what is OH up too?

It is nice that you have a room-mate that loves to cook. So what great dish is he making tonight?

I am so glad your mom is loving her new place. God Bless her. I am happy she was in a good mood when you called her.

This fatigue id awful...it has to be part of the Fibro flare ups I have been having. I hope you start getting more energy soon. Feeling like this is not good!

Love and hugs to you....connie d

We had shrimp alfredo and then cherry cheesecake. Richard put way too much on my plate and I only ate about half of it. Put the rest in the fridge for another day.  It was yummy and I'm very full. We have lots left. Richard, of course, eats lots more than me.

The fatigue at home is one thing ... I have had episodes lately where I've started nodding off at work. Not sure what is causing that. I haven't had any change of meds.

Mom sure is funny. She's glad Richard is "taking care of me" ... like I couldn't take care of myself without a man ... but she's happy he's cleaning the house. Yeah, she knows I'm a slob ... plus I just can't do much even when I am inclined. It's 10 minutes of vacuuming and then sit, take a vicodin and put an icepack on whatever body part hurts. So it's good to have someone else do the cleaning. I don't mind. And while I like cooking, it's nice to come home at night to a meal.
