Happy Presidents Day
Hello ladies,
Jeannie had a post the other day called "come out come out wherever you are" and well, here I am!
I am pre-surgery right now, just reading and researching and learning as much as I can from those of you who have walked this path before! As I have so little experience to offer in terms of WLS I was lurking, but at several folks suggestions, I thought I would start posting anyway. I am, after all, obese and in need of help :-) Also, I am trying to live the WLS lifestyle and make critical changes now, which will help me make best use of this tool. Who better to learn from than from those of you who've already walked the path???
A little about me, as well as my WLS plans:
I am 52, married to the best guy in the world! thankfully, DH is healthy and although he's very thin (dang it!) he is incredibly supportive. I have two stepchildren, ages 22 and 17, who live with DH and me. Love them dearly and they mostly feel the same for me. :-) I work as a management consultant and work with different companies and clients; sometimes I travel for work but right now I am local (within 20 miles of home). I am so grateful to not be on airplanes every week right now, as I have so many doctors appointments! I'm sure you remember what that is like.
I am planning Gastric Bypass, and I've been officially in the hospital's preparation program since early January. I have been meeting with Nutrition, going to support, and getting all those clearances taken care of. Though I don't have my date scheduled yet, we should be ready to submit for insurance approval by the end of Feb/start of March. Once I have approval (God willing!), it will be go-time for me.
I have been lurking for awhile and look forward to supporting you more actively, as much as I can, with my posts!
Hugs, and prayers to all -
Christine

WELCOME Christine!!!! So which type of WLS are you going to have? I had the RNY back in Oct of 2006 and my only regret is I didn't do it sooner!!! I have been with most of these wonderful people since day one and let me tell you this...you HAVE come to the BEST OH has to offer!!! We do not have a bunch of drama on this board like most of the other boards and we are like family here!!! And if you have ANY question there is always someone that will be here to answer it!! And always remember this...NO QUESTION IS A SILLY ONE!!!!
Hope you keep coming back and get to know us and us you!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSS
Hi Christine....I can't remember if I welcomed you or not so.........WELCOME CHRISTINE!!!!
I hope you stay with us and we can get to know you better. We are all at different stages of WLS. I am 7+ years out. I am struggling to lose my regain! I need to get Back to Basic's and I am trying hard to do that.
I wish I was there starting all over again....those days were so exciting and fun!! I am sure you will do just great!
I will try to help you with any questions and others will help you as well. Don't be afraid to ask about anything!!
If I was asked, "would I do this again", the answer would be yes. I am not sorry for a moment that I chose to have RNY.
I wish you the very best....follow your surgeons rules and all will be just fine.
HUGS....connie d
Good morning Trish and everyone....
Trish...I have been praying for your mom, you and your sister. I want things to work out for all of you. Neither one of you can take care of her. She needs to be in a safe place.
I am still praying for Ruth....God Bless her.
As for me....my sinus issue is not going away. I am going to post a message to my doctor when I am through here. I did all she asked and it isn't much better. I am coughing just as much too.
I am not doing much...I am really being cautious of my eating. I went for one walk today and will go for another this evening.
I am so fatigued today...I read all your posts but and too tired to answer them. You all know I care and love you much!!
Loads of love and many hugs.....connie d
