Come Out Come Out Where ever you are!!!
Hey,
This is by no means a post to compete with the daily thread but I wanted to on this fine valentines day shout out to all the lurkers both newbies and old friends. I'm as guilty as anyone of lurking without posting but sometimes I do check in to say hi. So all you gals and guys who are fabulous, drop by and say hi and let us know how you are doing....I miss you.
LOL...Jeannie....you would never compete with any other post!!!
However, YOU are right. We do need other members posting now and then....I know there are plenty lurking.
Come ladies and gentlemen...just a couple words to know you are okay. Happy Valentine's Day everyone!!
Love and more hugs....connie d
I'm here Jeannie. I do lur****asionally too. I'm doing well, retired now and enjoying my freedom. I'm still above my goal weight but 100 pounds less than my highest weight so I'm very happy with what the surgery helped me to do. I'm busy with my hobbies and I do some volunteer tutoring. My dogs love having me home more. (I guess that is a guess on my part.) happy Valentines Day to everyone! Julia
Ha! Ok I will respond to wish you all a very happy Valentines Day and to thank you for your inspiration!
My name is Christine and I am a lurker! No one would call me shy, but I am still pre-surgery so, I don't have a lot of wisdom to share just yet. I am doing a lot of reading and researching and learning. I am 52, and I'm planning to have Gastric Bypass. I've officially been in the bariatric preparatory program since the first week of January. I don't have my surgery date yet, though I will be finishing up my clearances in the next few weeks. I hope and pray I will be approved and will be able to schedule surgery in the next month or two.
I look forward to joining you for real once I hit that loser's bench! Until that time, just know I am supporting you all from the "lurkers corner." LOL

Hi Christine,
Welcome. I'm glad you posted. OH and OFF is not just for post-ops. I started posting on the Pennsylvania thread months before my surgery. I had tons of questions, and got lots of encouragement and answers there. It wasn't till I was post-op that I discovered OFF.
Please feel free to join our daily thread, and let us get to know you. Ask questions about life post-op, and share your pre-op life with us.
Hugs,
Trish

Christine,
Welcome. I was on the board for about a year before I had surgery. The support pre and post WLS will be your life line. This is a great place to talk yourself through some of the anguishes that we have and some of the mental issues that we have too. The surgery fixes our guts so that we are forced to eat less, but the talk here helps us through those mental things that go on.
Christine, I don't know if I responded but two posts won't kill us, will it? Welcome and don't hold back. This is the place where you will get the truth about wls. I know the doctors provide us with information and so does the internet but no one but us gals will give you the low down on what will happen once you are in the hospital....like no one told me that I would have explosive diarrhea after surgery....and no one told me that I would not be able to do my own wiping that first day....my incision hurt, my belly hurt, and even my neck hurt. So, my husband walked me to the bathroom and I said, go get the nurse and he said don't be silly, you did all of this for me when I had surgery, which I did when his appendix burst, but still, it was strange having someone do that for me and it only was that second post surgery day...The things you learn from your sisters. I learned that walking as soon as you can will get you out of the hospital sooner...and that the only thing to take is lotion, chap stick, and white socks. Once you get the date, you will be in a whirlwind of activities. Stay connected to us...we will make sure you have the low down...
