I am 61 years old with an BMI of 39 and I am hoping to get approved and not to have any problems with all the prerequisites like medically supervised weight loss program letter…my primary doctor is 73 years old and doesn’t agree with bariatric surgery much. I had the Lap band in 2006 and it was a failure for me, I had it removed since , I didnt have much success because I couldn't tolerate the band, due to reflux when the band was tightened. I had been trying to do it on my own, dieting and exercises, but I can't.....I have diabetes, high blood pressure, arthritis, asthma, non-alcoholic fatty and enlarge liver (recently found).....this have scared me a lot.....

I will appreciate any support from people my age who had the Gastric Sleeve done....Thanks

Hi Natalie....I welcome you and have read your post.

I am not sure how many here have had the  Gastric Sleeve done. I had RNY 7+ years ago. I do know people that have but they aren't on here.

I hope someone can pop in and help you with the information you need.

You are always welcome to stay if you like. We love having new members. We are a close group here and really care about each other. We have what we call the Daily Thread. One of us, it doesn't matter who, starts the thread each day. We talk about all kinds of things not just weight loss. I have some re-gain as do others here. We are all trying to get back on track.

Ask any questions you would like. Nothing is to silly to ask. We will give you the best answers we can.

You seem determined and that is a good start right there!!

HUGS.....connie.d

Good that you are exploring different options and not givingbup. This group   of ladies are wonderful and a great resource for information and support.

I had a RNY on Dec 23, 2013. I have lost 115 lbs since ( i had lst about 35 before surgery. So a total of 150 give or take avlb or two.

I wish you all the best on your journey.
