Merry Christmas Eve Connie and Jo and all my sistas!
It is sunny and windy and rather brisk (brrr!) here today! Feels like Christmas!
Connie, have a good trip today and enjoy your sweet family. I know you will have a great Christmas with them.
Jo, sounds like you have lots of good times planned for the next few days. Have fun and enjoy your loved ones!
Benny is better today. He slept all night, which was a blessing. Having a bit of a struggle getting him to take his medicine. Had to try twice last night at midnight and again this morning. He'll take the baby tylenol with no problems, but doesn't like the "bubble gum" flavor antibiotic. At All. Spits it right back out again instead of swallowing it! Little stinker.
But he's definitely more like himself today and had a big appetite for breakfast this morning. Now I've finally got both my boys settled down in the living room, so I can start my whirlwind day! Whew! I don't think there's a man alive *****alizes how much WORK it takes to pull off a Merry Christmas, do y'all?
So many hugs and kisses and wishes for a wonderful Christmas for all my sistas! Love you all!
Merry Christmas Vickie and to all your family as well.
I am glad Benny is doing so much better today. Most kids like the bubblegum flavor....I think it smells gross. Chris will have to remind the doctor to use another flavor if he needs it again.
You go and start your whirlwind of the day!!! It is amazing how much there is to do. The lists feel like they are getting longer all the time. I always loved doing it !! Now I don't have to anymore and that is okay too!!!
I need to get my packing done so I better get moving. I had to rest up after taking that shower.
Have a wonderful time with your family...and Mike's.
Love you much...HUGS.....connie d

Hey Sisters,
I am passing through and wishing you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. We did our Christmas last night with my grandkids. I had surgery yesterday so my daughter cooked the Christmas dinner and brought it up for us along with enough food to get us through the next few days. She and Granddad also did all the last minute shopping for me. We sent home with her all of the kids gifts that she will put under the tree for us but we exchanged one small gift with them and they gave us the gifts they have spent weeks buying for us. The school has a store that the kids can shop at for holiday gifts or birthday gifts for family, so over the last few weeks, we have paid the kids an allowance so that they can buy their dad and mom gifts and apparently they have bought Granddad and me a few things too.
We are getting a bit of snow here and with my surgery recovery at day two, we are not going out at all until I am a little surer footed. LOL. My husband and I exchanged our gifts today because he needed his new computer and I needed my new iPad. We gave my old iPad to my grandson and we bought the other two Samsung tablet 4. Hubby bought me the iPad air, which weighs nothing and I love it. I got him a new desktop computer. But he surprised me with a new piece of luggage. I travel to the Middle East and China quite a bit, and my old luggage is falling apart, so he bought me a very nice rolling luggage piece that's one of those hard ones and it rolls in all directions and rolls while it is upright, which I love. He bought it on black Friday and the price which was normally like three hundred dollars had been marked down to 60 bucks...when I saw it, I almost had a heart attack but he said, no, no it was 60 bucks...you cannot get a cheap walmart bag for that. Our college has satellite campuses in Belize, Panama, Brazil, France, China, and we are setting up one in the Middle East. I go to each one a couple of times a year to teach the students a writing class and push our writing center OWL and our online and eTutoring, so the nice luggage will make my travel so much easier. I keep trying to justify the extra gift. I am hoping once I recover from this surgery, I will be back at running. I tore my ACL and my meniscus so the doctor fixed it all up and he said that this summer he thinks I need to get a knee replacement. I have fought like crazy to put it off for a while but it looks like the knee must be fixed up with titanium. Kenny had his prostate cancer tests and everything is good. His levels are good and the prostate isn't growing so that is good news. In fact, the doctor put him on a new drug that is less harsh on his eyes and his back, so that is good.
I hope you guys all have a Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Hi Jeannie.....I am so glad your surgery went well. It will get you around for awhile yet!!!
It was nice that everyone has taken over and are helping you with Christmas and every thing.
Your luggage sounds wonderful. I know you will get plenty of use out of it.
I am wishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas!!!
Love and many hugs to you.......Connie d
Hi Connie and my OFF family:
Update on mom for those not on Facebook: Preliminary tests show no ulcers but inflammation in the stomach and some acid erosion. They took some biopsies, so we'll know more later. She slept well and is doing OK, but she's still confused.
I'm not doing a whole lot today, just laundry and watching my traditional "It's a Wonderful Life" later. My back shot did wonders for me, plus I slept really well last night. Talked to my brother Gary via Skype in Texas earlier today; he's having fun with his grandsons and son. Glad he's getting time to spend with them. I plan to take some time off in January and go to see my mom.
Other than that, not much going on. Just relaxing on my day off. Nothing big planned.
Hope everyone's plans go well and y'all have a nice Christmas.
