So . . . how was everyone's Christmas?
Good morning sistas!
Oy vey! I think maybe I had a little too much Christmas this year! I woke up early this morning and feeling more than a little bit sick. I sound like a croaking bullfrog. And my lower back is all kinked up in knots. But other than that, it's a GREAT morning!
We had such a nice celebration last night with all our family and Mike's family. They were really lovely people and we all had a good time together. My meal came together quite nicely, and everyone ate it all up, so I assume it was good. LOL! We had lots of snacks and libations before dinner and lots of desserts after dinner, so I guess I did all right. Whew!
We had so much fun opening presents with the boys. I GOT TICKETS TO GO SEE NEIL DIAMOND IN APRIL!!! Whoo hoo! Carrie and Leo are taking Butch and I to see him in Austin on April 19th! OMG! I can't wait!
We also had fun with the Fragrant Jewels I bought all the girls. Inside each candle or cannister there is a hidden ring worth $10 to $10,000! Oh my. We all went crazy digging our rings out! LOL! None of us got the big prize (of course), but we sure had fun with our bling! Mom's ring and Gail's ring (Mike's mom) were the prettiest. But we forgot to take pictures of our rings! Oh, well. It was a lot more fun than lottery tickets.
So we all said we would sleep late this morning, but I think we were all up shortly after 6 a.m. I got up to find some cold medicine. Carrie was up with a hangover and searching out advil. Butch woke up with aching shoulders wanting me to rub him down with Ben Gay. And Mom just wakes up early anyway. So here we all are, in our various corners of the house, nursing our hurts. LOL!
Tomorrow we are all going over to Seguin to see the new house. Mom and Carrie haven't seen the inside yet. I've got to call the realtor today and make an appointment for us to go see it tomorrow. We are also going to tour the factory there that makes modular homes and park model homes. And I hope we are going to look at that little 2 bedroom frame house that's ready to be moved from Shiner (about an hour from Seguin). Mom seems to be most interested in that one, and frankly I am too. If it worked out right, that could be the best solution for us. They will move the house and set it up on your property. The price is right ($18K) and for that price, we could then afford to do some updating in the kitchen and bathroom--which I am assuming will need it--they always do.) So we'll see.
Well, I'd better go see how everyone is doing. Can't wait to hear from all our travelers this week. I miss you all! Praying for all of those who need it--and even those who don't!
Love you all!
Good Morning Vickie and OFF Family,
I never had time to open my laptop yesterday. I was cooking all morning and out of the house the rest of the day. I did read yesterday's posts. Glad everyone had a good day yesterday. Sorry some are under the weather.
Vickie, I'm glad you all had a good time yesterday with Mike's family. It sounded wonderful.
Carla, I'm sorry you got sick before you left Chicago. Rest up, and feel better soon.
I had an absolutely wonderful day yesterday. The kids loved the turkey dinner I fixed. The Munchkins loved the presents. Colleen said I spent too much on them. I told her I spent more on books than toys. That made her happy. They also got to see The gang back in PA. Mom and Eileen were thrilled to see them open their presents, except Frankie was taking a nap.
In the evening we went to Trent's Aunt Barb and Uncle Steve's. Barb is a Michigan version of Martha Stewart. Her house is fantastic, and all decked out for the holiday. The amount of food was unbelievable. She had two chocolate fountains, white and milk chocolate. Every kind of fruit and cookie imaginable to use with them. Two punch bowls. Everything was unbelievably delicious. Trent's parents and siblings and all the cousins were there. The kids had a blast. Plus, Barb set up a craft table for the kids to create something.
Today Trent's family goes to his parents for Christmas. I have a ton of cleaning up to do in the kitchen. My cooking yesterday created a mess. It's not going to clean itself, so I better scoot.
Love and Hugs,
Trish

Hi Vickie and Trish and my OFF family:
Well, I worked, but it went by fast. No food from the company last night; one coworker brought in a cheesecake sampler and I brought in chips and salsa. I was done by 10 p.m. so I went home then.
Talked to mom via my SIL's cellphone, talked with both brothers and my niece's family. That was my Christmas, nothing special, just an ordinary day ... oh, other than a little surprise. New coworker who likes cats gave me a little present: a bag with treats for Juliette and a $15 Subway card for me. That was sweet.
Anyway, I have to get ready for work now. See ya later.
