Prayers please
Good morning sistas,
Butch had a rough day yesterday after chemo on Tuesday, and an even rougher night last night. He had the chills at bedtime and woke up with fever this morning. I have a call in to the San Antonio cancer doctor and I'm waiting for them to call me back. All my paperwork says that if he runs a fever of 101F or higher to go to the emergency room. Great. I've taken his temp several times since about 7 a.m. and the highest was 102F. But now it's come down to 100.6F. I'm hoping they don't make us come in to the ER.
Really wasn't impressed with the CRTC in San Antonio, but it's probably better than just going into the local ER. And this is the exact reason we decided to get established with a "local" cancer doctor, so I guess I will just hang in there with Dr. Jeong at the CRTC one more time.
Prayers are greatly appreciated today. This is the pits. I feel like I never know what to do to help my husband.
Talked to Dr. Jeong. We are going to wait and see what the fever does between now and noon. I'm not supposed to give him anymore Tylenol (I gave him 2 at 7 a.m.). If the fever continues to go down or goes away, we'll just wait another day. If the fever comes back up, we'll go in for blood work this afternoon. Right now Butch is sleeping and he's considerably cooler than before. I managed to get all his pills down him before he fell back asleep, so fingers crossed and prayers said for a better day today.
Well, Butch woke up from his morning nap (it's 11:30 a.m.), and his fever is down to 99.2F. Maybe we won't have to go to the hospital today after all. It could still be the residual effect of the tylenol I gave him this morning, so I'll check it again in an hour. But he looks better and says he is feeling better, so crossing my fingers and praying hard!
