What's Up This Friday?
Hi. It's early here. The dog got me up. I think he had some diarrhea. He has a chronic intestinal condition that makes him have loose stools. We have him on steroids and that does help but every once in a while he has a flare up. Anyway, he woke me with his cries from his kennel and I rushed him outside.
The painter will be here again today and possibly tomorrow. The good news is that he's nearly finished. So, we'll have a break before the contractor comes back to do the kitchen backsplash.
Yesterday, we drove to the valley so the dr. could check a pre-cancerous spot on my face that she froze 3 months ago. The good news is that it looks very good. So, I don't have to go back for six months.
Anyway, while we were there we stopped at a sporting goods store to get some tennis shoes and then we went to Costco where we proceeded to empty the shelves. Our SUV was loaded to the gills. We hadn't been to Costco since a quick trip in early September. Stocked up on toilet paper, paper towels, etc.
Hope you all have a good day today.

Good morning Cindy and everyone......
Your poor dog...I hope he is feeling better soon.
It must be feeling pretty great to know the kitchen update is very near completion!! It has been a long process. However, the end results will be worth it!!
I am happy to know the spot on your face is looking good. Those kinds of things always scare me.
I am sure you are stocked up on most all the essential now...LOL!! That is the best way to buy, you save money in the long run. I am glad your hubby saved room in the SUV for you!!!
As for me....I finished all the paperwork I had to get mailed yesterday.....that is a relief!! I am always so organized and get things set off early. With being so sick I got so far behind.
Not much else planned for today. I will go out and work on the puzzle today. I haven't been out much lately. I miss all the ladies.
I plan on working on Christmas cards sometime today. I am so behind on that too. I have to see who of you ladies I need addresses for, I haven't even had time to look!
Wishing you all a fun day!!
Prayers for our amazing OFF Family and their families.
Much love and oodles of hugs to all.....connie d

Good Morning Cindy, Connie and all to follow,
Well, I've had to get up early two mornings this week, and still got wakened by phone calls the mornings I thought I could sleep in, twice by Colleen. Can't be angry with her though. Poor girl is up at 6:30, coz she has to be out the door with the kids to school by 7:30. So, for her to call me before 9:00, is late in the morning for her. Today, her question was, do I have extra yarn. Duh, I have bins and bins of yarn. Tomorrow is Baby Hunter's First Birthday. Toby asked her to plan it. She came up with a woodlands theme, and she is expecting about 25 kids, half of whom are cousins. Lincoln collected tons of pine cones from Grandpa's yard next door, so they are making pine cone bird feeders with shortening and bird seed. She asked for colors that were invitations, so I gave her light blue, red, and yellow. I have practically every color in the rainbow yarn.
My sister's wound care nurse found another pocket of fluid under her healed part of her incision. She's seeing one of the doctors today, so who knows what's going to happen. She's already out of work till January. Remember her surgery was September 25th. She's been considering retirement. Maybe she'll just retire once she's done treatment. She thinks she'll be bored. I'm sure not.
Anywho, today, I want to get the house together, so I can get my tree up. I need to find my wreath hanger, because I want to go to a friend's tree farm, and get a fresh wreath to put on my door. I'm hesitant to get a real tree, coz I'm allergic to every stinking tree in this part of Michigan, including any evergreens that grow here. '
I've been reading, and keeping up with everyone. Just suffering from brain drain right now, so I can't send personal notes to anyone. Hopefully later I'll have time to check in.
Love and Prayers,
Trish

Good morning Cindy and Connie and all my lovely sistas!
Oh, it feels good to be home this morning! We slept in a bit and had a leisurely breakfast. Butch wanted biscuits and gravy, so of course that's what we had. I have to stop all this eating! I need to get back to basics again.
Today I plan to start my Christmas decorating. Hope to get my tree put up and decorated. I don't have many decorations here at all. I miss all my little snowmen and things. Next year!
So I finally got to post on FB about our new house. I posted a few pictures there. I will try not to flood the internet with posts about how excited I am! LOL! Here are a couple of pics. I don't know how to make them line up in order here! LOL!
Okay, so that was interesting! I don't know why posting pictures here has to be so difficult!
Anyway, you get the idea, I hope. It's a small house, but I think it will be just right for us.
I am collecting pecan recipes, if any of you have a really good one. Butch's cousin lives on the old family farm and there are huge old pecan trees there that were planted by his grandparents. We picked up so many pecans! I've never had so many at one time, so I can do a lot of baking with them this year.
Still working on a menu for Christmas Eve with all my company coming. I hope these folks like pecans! LOL! I think I'm going to do a big roast with mashed potatoes and peas for Christmas Eve dinner. Then I think I'll have tamales here for Christmas afternoon/evening. A hot queso dip, guacamole, chips and tamales for snacking on. What do y'all think? I don't think I should have to provide two major meals, do you? These are Christie and Mike's guests, after all.
I'm listening to Christmas music today. I love country Christmas!
Oh, and MDAnderson asked me to contribute another blog for their website. I'm so flattered. All of Butch's family and friends kept telling me I should write a book. All this attention does make me feel good, but I'm not sure I have that much to say, you know? I mean, it's one thing to pour my heart out to y'all. It's quite another to put it out there for the world to see.
Well, I have a lot to get done today, and sitting here at the computer is not accomplishing much. Love you all so much!
P.S. I'm going to try one more pic. This is the swimming pool. I'm going to change it up and make it look all lush and tropical this spring!
Hello Vickie....wow...you do have a pool. I didn't see this picture right away. That would be so much fun. I could be out there every day, all day long! I know you and Butch will love that feature too!! I agree, a tropical theme is the way to go!!!
I think your menu sounds perfect!! No, there is no need for for two large meals. Keep it simple!!
I love Country Christmas too....awwww I just plain love Country!!!
I agree....you need to write books!!! You have a great writing technique. You need to quit wasting your talent!! Congrats to you for MDA wanting another article!!! You can practice on us anytime!!
I feel like I need to connect with you more. I have missed you! I will work in it!!
I love you .....HUGS....connie d
