Thursday Morning
Oh, my! So much going on here today. I think we must all hold hands (virtually of course) and say a group prayer for one another!
Well, I just wanted to tell y'all that we found a house! Oh, we both really love it. It's the one on 6 acres. It's in Seguin, TX, which is about 20 miles from Chris and the boys. That's not bad at all.
This is the one that Butch really wanted the most because of the land and all the outbuildings. So it's wonderful that it turned out the house and the inside part was the one that I loved the most! I liked the location of the other two we looked at, but the houses just were NOT good. But THIS house is almost perfect! I like everything about it except for one bathroom. UGH! But it's just one room out of many, and it can be fixed. It has harvest gold fixtures! Gold bathtub (which is chipped), gold sink, gold potty. Gag. And it's rather small, but it could be okay.
The rest of the house is wonderful! I LOVE the kitchen!!! Oh, it is my ideal kitchen again! I never thought I would have another. There is a perfect room just off the kitchen for my sewing and crafts and computer. AND it has a swimming pool!
Butch loves the shop and the barns and all the fencing, etc. It's 6 acres and it's ready for animals: horses, calves, alpacas, you name it. There's even a pond in the back pasture.
So we're really pumped about it. Jenny went home to crunch the numbers and check the comparables to see what price we could realistically offer that they might accept. Then only problem is that the house has only been on the market for 2 weeks, so the sellers might not be in the frame of mind to bargain much. We'll see.
And it doesn't have mother-in-law quarters, but that's something we can easily remedy. Mom will be here next week for Thanksgiving and we can all talk about it then.
Of course, I won't post anything about it on FB until after we've made the deal, but I just had to tell my sistas all about it!
I'm pooped and headed to bed. Tomorrow is PT for Butch and a haircut for me. And maybe a trip into the realtor's office to sign an earnest money contract!
Love you all!
Hi Trish and my OFF family:
Everyone is so chatty here. I feel bad I didn't get on here until so late, after I got finished with work (although I'm still at work).
My coworker's mom is dying of brain cancer, so we were trying to fill in for him. She has been in hospice care and her breathing started to slow today. He stopped in and said he had to go, because this might be it for her. So we moved jobs around to fill in. A little different, but it worked. So Trish, I understand about Grandpa. Sometimes you know when it's time to go. The family might not be ready, but he is. (Coworker's mom is in her 60s, btw.)
Vickie, I'm glad you found a house and property you like. It will keep Butch's spirits up, too. That's a good thing.
We are warming up here. It's supposed to get up to the 50s by the weekend, but we'll have rain then. The snow is all melted already. So glad I'm not up north. This is as far north as I want to be.
I wore my shoes to work, but took off the one shoe when I'm not walking. Little toe and the foot are a little tender yet, so I'm "transitioning" slowly. And I need to strengthen my calf muscles. They are very weak from not using them for several weeks.
Connie, I know what you mean about breathing in cold weather. Bothers me, too, and I just have asthma. Also in humid weather (hurt to breath in Louisiana a lot).
Judy, you sure have to deal with lots of crazy stuff. Don't know if I could handle all of that. I have enough crazies here.
Hope everyone had a good day.
