Early to rise Wednesday

Good morning sistas!

I seem to be popping up out of bed early this week.  Must be the time change because I fall into bed before 9 each night.  Screwy inner clock.

Today I am hoping to go see another house!  This is so much fun.  Waiting to call our Realtor about a possible time today.  Again, the pictures look good and really promising.  What the house will actually look like?  Anybody's guess.

Chris and Mike came and worked for us yesterday.  Christie got the living room painted!  That girl is a painting fool--just like her mama used to be!  LOL!  I'll have to put all the furniture and curtains back in place today, but the walls look pretty and so fresh and clean now!

Mike worked really hard in the yard and got all those huge Texas sage bushes trimmed down and the branches all hauled off to the burn pile on the back lot.  My yard is looking better!

I played and played with Benny and Budder.  Oh, it was fun.

And Butch took a walk around the hillside and fell down AGAIN and I told him when he falls and breaks his hip, I'm done!  I said, "I will put you in a nursing home and don't think I won't!"  I think I got his attention!

Anyway, I made chili for supper last night and I got it too hot for my taste.  Butch loved it, but I can't stand quite as much heat as he and Christie can.

Butch built a fire in our chiminia (a big Mexican fire pot with a chimney) on the porch yesterday afternoon and I guess it's the first time Benny has ever seen a real fire in person.  He was scared of it at first and afraid Papaw would burn up!  But then he got fascinated by the way the little twigs and leaves would burn up.  He said the twigs turned into worms!  Well they do twist up and glow before they turn to ash.  Eyes of a child!  We should all be reminded every day of the wonders in this world.

I never did get my laundry folded yesterday.  Guess I'd better put that chore back on my to-do list for today.

Love you all!

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

I'm having a hell of a time getting online today. Took rebooting to do it, and I still can't get my mail on my laptop. I can get it on my phone, but I would rather look on my laptop. Bigger type, easier to read.

Well, I used up one day off on appointments yesterday afternoon ... by the time I got home it was nearly 5 p.m. I put a pot pie in the oven and sat down and watch the news. By the time it was done (an hour), I was really hungry and ready to relax. Ate dinner and watched Harry Potter #3. I'm on Book 4 and realized I don't have No. 4 DVD. I know I won't get through that by next week (I usually don't read much during the work week), so I ca wait til payday.

Got up way too early this morning and after breakfast and coffee, I'm already tired. I have an appointment at 1:30 p.m. ... I may take a nap before I go.

Vickie, I have seen the Mexican chimneys before. They are pretty cool. Kids see the world through fresh eyes and an open mind. Their imaginations run wild. I love how they express themselves. It's when they get older they lose that wide-eyed wonder.

Have a good day.

So, Eileen, my kids have been trying to get me to read Harry Potter for years.  Are you enjoying the series?

I am enjoying the series, Vickie. I didn't think I would, because it's billed as a kids' series, but it's much more than that. It's clever and funny and the characters are so well-drawn. And then going back and watching the movies again, I understand so much more. I think you'd like them. I also liked "The Hunger Games" series. All these I got free from Amazon.

Yeah, I read the Hunger Games series and really enjoyed it.  I didn't like those vampire ones--can't remember the series right now--at all!  Or the movies of those.  Ugh.  I tried that Divergent series, but couldn't get into it.

I may try Harry Potter since you like it so much.  I need something new to read.

Hi Trish....I am so sorry about Trent's grandpa falling. I am glad I MAKE myself use my walker. I don't like it but it beats serious injury. Our bones aren't what they used to be!!

Of course I will say prayers for him!! I hope it isn't too serious. I will check in later to see if you posted anything else about him.

Much love and many hugs on the way.....connie d
