Chilly Wednesday!
Brrr! Good morning my sistas!
It's 32 F on my back porch this morning. I guess the Deep Freeze finally reached South Texas. I am very thankful for my new warm robe. Even my ankles are covered and warm right now.
We had a long productive day yesterday! Chris and Mike worked really hard for us. I paid them $200 and it was worth it! Both of my long hallways are now painted and they look so much better! I can't wait until she gets my living room painted.
Butch did a Really Dumb Thing yesterday. He walked down the hill and around to the front yard to inspect some of Mike's yard work and he didn't take his cane with him and he didn't tell anyone he was going to do that! So yes, he fell and none of us knew he was out there. He says he hollered and hollered and when no one came out of the house, he finally crawled over to the steps and finally managed to get himself back up on his feet. I could have SHOT him! I think he's all right. He said he was a bit sore last night, but I think that's all. He's still sleeping this morning, so I don't know how he's feeling today yet.
Little Maybelle is doing better now. She's learned to use the toddler bed to get up and down off our big bed and that seems to have helped. Also, I've started giving her a gluosamine chondroiten tablet daily to help with her joints. I hope that will take care of the problem. I really think it is age related, you know?
We have neighbors here again. Sigh. We really get used to having complete privacy on either side of us. I go in and out in my pjs and never think about it. Then we get these neighbors and I have to get dressed! LOL! There are definitely times when I do miss country living!
PT is coming this afternoon, so I'll have to get dressed today, too, dammit.

The kids must be so happy to do that painting for you. It helps everyone!!!
That naughty Butch....he knows better. He could break a hip so easily. He is pretty frail right now. He needs to remember his bones are not so strong with all that chemo. I remember Nic couldn't do any kind of contact sports in school ever. They were worried about his falling and breaking bones. Please tell Butch to at least use a cane....those darn men!!
I am glad Maybelle is better again. I think you are right, colder weather and arthritis don't mix well together.
So are you at least going to tell us what color your new robe is??? LOL!! It sounds really comfy and cozy!!
Sorry the neighbors have returned. I like privacy myself!!
As for me....I didn't go out this morning on the bus to get groceries. I just can't handle this bitter cold. Last nights low was 11....high today 27....right now at 11 AM it is 21 degrees. I have plenty here to eat. Plus my lunch is paid for. I will get there later in the week.
I was scheduled for Rehab and am so glad I canceled that!!!

Connie, my new robe is FLORAL! But it's fall mum colors: golds, burnt oranges, greens and browns. I think I have figured out how to correct the super deep vee neck. I'm going to make an elastic loop on one side and sew a button on the other side which will pull the vee together at a more modest depth and kind of create a key hole effect. When I get it fixed, I'll take a picture.

Greetings Vickie and OFF Family,
I tried to post yesterday, and it disappeared as I was finishing. I'm working on my bedroom. Hopefully, I can make a dent in it.
Tonight, I have the kids' program at church, and I'm sure my Munchkins won't be there this week. Colleen's Dad is in town, so I'm certain he'll be playing with them. His wife is arriving on Friday.
I started Christmas shopping online today. I'm not buying big toys for the Munchkins this year, coz Colleen suggested I give them either a zoo membership, or a gift certificate for an evening of family swimming at the place where Lincoln's birthday party was held. They have the coolest pool toys.

I hope you enjoyed the kids' program at church. I am sorry your Munchkins won't be there. I always enjoyed those programs so much!
It sounds like you will have an easier time Christmas shopping this year. Colleen has some good ideas. I am sure the kids will love either gift!!

Afternoon OFF family....BRRRRRRRRRRRRR it is COLD here!!!!! Gosh what a difference from yesterday!!!
Still NO floor finished today!!!!!!! GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR boss called him and asked just when did he plan on doing this job?! He told her tomorrow. We are NOT holding our breath...See IF he shows up. He is supposed to start the other complex tomorrow also...hahaha!!!!
I STILL have this headache from hell...
Need to go shopping for the Thanksgiving dinner Tuesday....Rick is watching tv right now I am mad as hell...I have apartments that NEED to get painted etc and here he sits watching tv!!!!!!!!!! Chase is good but he likes to TALK ALOT and today when I went to show one apartment he said he only had a couple LITTLE things left to do and I could show this one...I about had a cow!!!!!!!!!!!! He has been working on this apartment for over a month now and it should have been done long time ago!!!!!!!!! Do I need to turn nurse Ratchett on them??????? Good grief!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well sitting here is NOT getting the shopping done and HE needs to go with me!!!!!!!!! I need two turkeys and have to spend $20 for each to get the special price!!!!!! Sooooooo

As for Chase....doesn't Rick follow up on him....giving him time limits? You shouldn't have to do that. I would be unhappy too!! Get them Nurse Rachett!!!!!!

Connie trust me Rick caught HELL also!!!!!!!!!! I am so sick and tired of NOTHING getting done around here I could scream!!!!!!!!!! This apartment should NOT take that/this long to get done!!!!!!!!!!! Chase has this problem of TALK and boy can he TALK!!!!!!!!! Rick said he would TALK to him tomorrow...HE BETTER!!!!!!!!

Yes we got turkeys...two of them...one is 17 lbs and the other is 14 lbs the biggest we could find in the cheapest brand they had. Still need to get a few odds and ends yet...dollar tree...hahaha. Can go there this weekend.
Headache from hell will not stop...went out for dinner tonight...even that didn't help any. Was soooooooo cold in there also!!! Had Hot tea of all things to drink!!! Oh well...I hate driving in the dark!!!!!!!!!
Well couple more games then I am going to bed!!!!! Had enough of today!!!!!

Maybe you could get a LifeAlert thing for Butch for when he walks around ... so if he falls, he can get some help. Or tell him to carry a cellphone with him. And of course, his cane.
I had PT this morning and then went to Sam's for a couple things I needed ... fortunately, they also had gloves because I lost another glove and now had only one so my hands were cold in the car. It is 33 here and feels like it's going to snow, although that's not in the forecast. After Sam's, I went to the post office to pick up some stuff that's been there for a couple days ... almost a week, really. Everytime I went there, there was a long line and I really can't stand that long yet. So today there was no one. One was a coat I ordered. Unfortunately, it doesn't fit and I'll have to send it back. The other box was for Juliette ... it's called a KitNip Box ... full of toys and treats in a cute little bag. Juliette loved the one toy that was made out of palm fronds. And the treats, too. She brings so much joy in my life, I enjoy doing something for her.
The other thing in my mail was a large envelope from a new-found cousin in California. She had sent stuff to my cousin Doug, who I found nearly 18 years ago, when I moved to Georgia. Barbara is the granddaughter of my great-grandfather's oldest son, John. So her family is much older than mine. She had information on my great-grandfather's birthplace, military record, etc. (funny that he, too, was from Prussia and Danzig, because that's where my grandmother's family was from). This is the first time I have seen a birthplace, so this is great!
Got home and had dinner while my laundry was going. No big stuff. Probably watch a movie tonight. I watched "Harry Potter I" last night; will watch "II" tonight and keep reading IV.
