A lovely Saturday to you all!

Good morning my sistas!

Wow, I wish I could send you all this beautiful Saturday morning!  It's just cool enough to be pleasant without being cold.  The sun is shining.  The air is crisp.  FALL is HERE!

Sorry I never made it back to post about Butch's new oncologist appointment yesterday.  It went just fine.  Dr. Jeong was very nice and took a thorough history.  He said he would support whatever treatment plan Dr. Tu prescribed.  So I feel better now that we have a local doctor as well as the doctors at MDA.  We will still be going back to MDA for the next round of chemo, since Dr. Tu is still assessing the proper amount for Butch to take, but then after that, we might be able to go to San Antonio for some of his treatments.  Only an hour's drive, as opposed to a 3 hour drive!

Anyway, when we left the hospital in SA, Butch was feeling okay, so we stopped at a new Sam's on our way home.  Butch's birthday is next weekend and I wanted to buy him a new watch for his birthday present.  All these years he's worked overseas he's only worn really cheap Wal Mar****ches because life on the oil rigs was so tough on watches.  They only lasted a few months or possibly a year at most.  But now that he's home, I wanted him to have a nice watch.  So he picked out a very nice gold Seiko watch and he has to wait a week to have it!  LOL!

Also bought his Christmas present while we were there.  Got him a really nice Keurig coffee maker.  We have a little one that I bought for this lake house a couple of years ago, but it's about worn out.  The water here is very hard with lots of sediment in it.  This new Keurig has a water filter built in.  Hopefully it will work better and last awhile.

Well, by then we were worn out and came home and got settled down in our living room to rest and nap.  Then the phone rang.  It was Christie and she was just beside herself.  Her babysitter cancelled on her at the last minute!  Oh, I don't blame her for being furious.  The woman didn't even call her.  She sent a text at 4:30 p.m. saying she couldn't pick the boys up at 5:30 p.m.!!!  So ridiculous!  Not even a word of explanation as to why.  Just "sorry".

Well, Chris and Mike were both scheduled to work last night (as usual on Friday nights), but she told her boss and he said she could leave at 6 p.m.  So Butch and I went into town and got the boys from day care around 5:45 p.m.  We didn't have the car seats, so we had to just sit there and wait for Chris to arrive.  Then we all went over to Scholtzsky's and had dinner together.  Benny had never had a Scholtzsky's sandwich before, but he liked it.  Budder just ate the meat and bread out of his.  But it was nice to have a small family dinner together.  It helps Butch to see the boys.  It reminds him he needs to try hard to get well again, you know?

As you can imagine, we were quite worn out by the end of dinner.  We came home and were in bed by 8 p.m.  And we slept all night until about 6:30 a.m., so we're feeling better today.

Chris and the boys are coming out this afternoon.  Chris is going to do some more painting while I watch the boys.  I'm going to make a crockpot chicken for our dinner.  That will be easy and I won't have to worry about trying to cook and babysit the boys at the same time.

This morning I need to go to Sherwin Williams and see if I can match the original exterior paint they used for the trim on this house.  I need Chris to paint the new front door today if she can.  The weather is perfect for leaving it wide open for several hours today.  This house is painted gray with red trim.  I have the original paint cans from Sherwin Williams, so I'm hoping they can mix up the same red paint for me and I can buy a quart of it.

I woke up with a dreadful headache, but it's easing up now.  I don't know where all these headaches are coming from!  I had them often before WLS, but not so many after, until just recently.  I guess it's stress and tension causing them.  I sure do miss my Advil!

Oh, and I wanted to tell y'all that my new shampoo and conditioner have already made my hair feel softer!  If any of you have the same problem with dry, brittle hair, this stuff seems to work.  It's L'Oreal Power Moisture Hydrating Shampoo.  Pricey, but seems to be worth it.  It'll be awhile before I know if the Rogaine is working, but cross your fingers!

Well, I'm off to crochet for just a while before I have to get busy with my day.  Love you all!

Good Morning Vickie, and OFF Family,

I am glad you had a chance to take the boys out for supper.  Also glad that the San Antonio doc is okay to you guys.  I hope it works out for you guys.  Good for you for getting Butch his birthday and Christmas presents.  I have very hard water here.  So does Colleen.  She has well water, I have city water.  We use Pur water filters.  We both have the big containers with the spigots.  They work better than Brita.  Take out a lot of the crap in the water.  Still, our Keurigs need to be cleaned with vinegar regularly.  I went on Google to find out how.

Anywho, I have housework here, then the Penn State game at noon.  Then, I'm heading over to church for a while.  We're having a Community game day, with board games and pizza.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Good morning, Trish!!

I am also looking into getting a Purr water filter. I drink so much water I think it will be better for me. I will not by bottled water anymore. I have read too much scary things about it.

Enjoy your game this afternoon!

Lots of Love and Hugs...connie d

Connie,

I rarely buy bottled water anymore.  I have one of those reusable water bottles that are metal, that I can put in the dishwasher if necessary.  I usually only get bottled water for long road trips, to keep in a cooler.  Pur makes pitchers, or larger containers with spigots.  I got mine on Amazon.  I also order the filter replacements there.  Easier than having to go to Bed, Bath and Beyond.  I rarely see them in grocery stores.  They usually only have Brita products there.

Hugs,

Trish

Morning OFF Family...

Just got back from chiro and a little grocery shopping...man the store was busy!!!!! Can't wait to really do shopping!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!

Anyhow Vic...my hairdresser back home in Michigan once told me that if you start using ROGAIN you can't STOP using it or its a WASTE of money. So seeing what it cost I never started using it. I put up with my baby fine hair. Not sure if the one that Dr Oz talks about is any different or not. ???

Not much happening around here today crossing fingers now that I said that here...

Going to Bingo tonight. Hope my tenant is NOT calling again!!!!!!!! OMG her mouth never shuts up!!!!!!! I sometimes think she talks just to hear herself!!

Didn't go to VFW last night after all as Michael and his so called girlfriend went. Rick is still mad at him. He can't get away from that "ball and chain" for a few minutes to spend with his friends anymore. Plus we can't stand her...sorry.

It is so cold here already...BRRRRRRRRR my car said possible freezing...really????? Come on!!!!!!! I am so NOT ready for freezing!!!!!!! Sitting here shivering and the heat is on and the oven also...making a turkey pot pie for lunch...yummmm that sounded so good!!!

Today's big game is OHIO STATE vs Michigan State!!!! GO BUCKEYES!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL Even though Michigan State is my other favorite team. So really it does not matter who wins this game. Now when Ohio plays Michigan.....Ohio BETTER WIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

OK going to FB and play my games....

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

Connie, we got this one at Sam's, so I suspect it's one of those special deals that Sam's works with manufacturers.  But it's a Keurig 2.0, Model #K460.  I think it was $129, but it also comes with 40 K-cups included.
