Good morning everyone.....

Well today is Butch's last chemo for this week. They should be heading home later. I am praying all went well and that have a safe trip home.

As for me....I am doing okay. After lunch I have a bus picking me up to go to Shopko (like WalMart). I am trying to get out and go on some kind of adventure a couple days a week. Nothing else new with me.

I will check back in later to see what everyone posts.

Have a great day!!

Prayers for our sweet OFF Family and their families.

Lots of love and many hugs to all......connie d

Good afternoon.

Our house is like a war zone.  We have stuff going on everywhere.  Both hubby and I fell into bed exhausted last night.  It's very tiring having people in your house and having to make our way through piles of construction stuff to get anywhere.  I know we'll be very happy with the end result though and we'll think it was worth it when all is said and done.

So glad to read on Carepages that Butch's cancer is responding to the chemo he's been receiving.  What wonderful news that is.

Connie, we lived in the CA Bay Area for a number of years and they had Shopko there.  I can remember shopping there.  We have a small Wal-Mart here in town and a Costco in the valley (about an hour and a half drive there).  We make lists and have them at the ready in case we feel like making the drive to Costco or will already be in the vicinity for an appointment of some kind.

Hope that everyone is having a good day.

Hi Cindy....I love Shopko.....I enjoy shopping there. They always have such good deals. My daughter lives in  Bloomington (Minneapolis area). She can't come to town with out stopping at Shopko. All the stores in the Twin Cities and she still loves Shopko. I got a couple good buys myself today. I got a beautiful tunic top for $10. I had a $10 off coupon and also my senior discount of 15%..plus it was on clearance. I got another dressy top for about $5!!!! I scored!! I love clearance shopping and all the great discounts I earn there.

I haven't checked Butch's Care Page yet but I will be!!!

There is a Costco about an hour drive from here. I haven't been there as I don't drive anymore. I did shop at a Costco when I was with my granddaughter in Oregon. What a wild and crazy store!!! Good deals too!!

Have a good evening. I hope you can sleep well tonight!

Love and many hugs to you....connie d

Hello Connie, Francine and Cindy, and all my other sweet Sistas!

Oh, PTL and pass the hot soup!  We are finally home.  It rained on us all the way from Houston to the lake and it's cold out there for the first time today.  I am already in my flannel jammies and ready to curl up with my crochet in the living room.  But first I just had to pop on and check on everyone.

We had a good trip to Houston, even though yesterday was pretty much an endurance contest all day long.  We were supposed to see the doctor at 10 a.m. and have chemo at 10:30 a.m. and be out by noon.  HA!  We finally got out around 4:15 p.m., just barely ahead of the Houston five o'clock traffic, but we made it.

Anyway, the good news is that Butch's blood work showed a reduction in his numbers (all those various markers they track for cancer) and that means the new chemo is working.  Given that he had such a small dose two weeks ago, that's very encouraging.  So the doctor upped his dose of chemo a bit and we will go back in 3 weeks.  Now we have to wait and see how well he tolerates the stronger dose.  Cross your fingers, swing chickens and pray.

Got our little Patty Kate from Christie's house on the way home, and our little Maybelle is doing just fine now, so we're all settled in for the next day or so.  Let it rain, let it blow--heck, it can even snow if it wants.  We just want to hibernate.

Love all of you so much!  This is the sweetest, most loving and supportive group of women anywhere!  #truesistas

Hi Vickie....I am so happy that Butch is doing well with this chemo!!! What a relief that is to all of us! I will be praying more that the new larger dose doesn't cause him any problems!!

I am glad you are all four home how relaxing and snuggling in your PJs. On wet days like that we really appreciate the comfort!!

We surely are blessed with amazing sistas here on OFF. You are a big part of that!! I love you too!!

I just came home from shopping. I forgot to get my mail so I need to do that soon. At least before I get into my PJs!!!

Have a wonderful evening. Listen to the rain and relax!

Loads of love and many hugs.....connie d
