Good morning Judy and hip, hip, hooray for you!!!    You are certainly a force to be reckoned with in ALL areas of life.  I have no doubt you can do whatever you set your mind to!

And I love being your sista on this journey!  You are like family to me!

So, good morning to everyone else this morning, too!

I've been up since about 4 a.m.  Grrr!  I'm going to pay for it tonight.  We are babysitting the boys tonight, and it's Chris and Mike's late night at Hobby Lobby.  Last time they got in about 11 p.m.  Maybe it won't be quite so late tonight.  One can always hope.  Ha!  We decided that we will go in to their house to babysit today.  All the toys are there, and I can always take them down to the little neighborhood park to run off some excess energy.  Chris is leaving taco fixin's out for me to make supper for them tonight.

Tomorrow Mike is going to come out here and help me mow the grass.  Oh, it's just dreadful the way our front yard and hillside look!  Really.  I've never had a yard get this far out of control before.  But we've been gone so much all summer and most of the time I don't feel like I can leave Butch alone in the house, you know?  Besides, mowing the hillside is just getting to be too much for me.  I'm hoping we can mow it this one last time and that will be it until next spring.  I have promised myself that we will have a yard man by then.

So yesterday we went driving around looking at more properties that Butch found on-line.  Oh, we found a lovely place about 30 miles from New Braunfels!  25 acres of absolutely beautiful land.  It's a bit high because there's a double wide and a single wide trailer on it, and they're counting that as housing.  Well, I would rather have just the land, not the trailers, but we'll see what happens.  Hopefully if we decide to make an offer, we can get the price down to between $6000 and $7000 an acre.

Anyway, this property would only be 30 miles from Christie's house, but it's in the exact wrong direction for us to babysit easily--which is a big plus in my books!  And it would put us slightly closer to Houston as well.

However, I guess I'm a little worried about it, because I woke up at 4 a.m. thinking "Are we making a big mistake?" given Butch's health at the moment, and I never could go back to sleep.  It's so hard to know what to do!  On the one hand, I think that we have always planned to sell this lake house and find something better suited to our lifestyle and more permanent.  On the other hand, I think we must be fools to jump off into a new housing adventure.  So I pray about it and hope that the Lord will show us the way.  I mean, He certainly took that old Victorian house off the market in a hurry!  We never even got to make a serious offer on that one.  I want us to do what's best for Butch.  He would be happier back on a farm.  I know that.  But can we actually pull that off at this point?  I don't know.

Well, this morning I have made a batch of fig preserves.  Oh, I have been craving them!  Fig preserves are my absolute favorite, and I never seem to find any at the stores that taste just right to me.  So I caved in last week and bought some brown turkey figs at the grocery store.  I paid a RIDICULOUS price for them, and then I didn't get to make them right away and had to throw some of them out this morning because they had spoiled, but I had enough to make a small batch of preserves.  Yum Yum!

On Monday we go back to Houston and Butch has appointments at MDA on Tuesday.  I'm not sure what all will be happening then.  I thought we were going to start back on chemo, but it's not on our schedule.  Instead there is blood work and a doctor visit and a bone marrow aspiration.  I'm anxious about it, but trying not to waste me time and energy worrying about it.  I know they will take care of my husband to the best of their ability.  I'm not the doctor; they are!

Well, I need to close now and get moving.  Lots to do this morning before we head to Christie's house.  Love you all!
