Hi Judy and others that may follow of my OFF family:

I was on here briefly this morning but decided to nap instead. Things have been so hectic for me. Richard moved in a bit yesterday and we (Richard, my cleaning lady, her mom and I) moved a lot more. She was a whirlwind. This woman is a godsend. Richard is still very weak ... I told him he should apply for disability. We still have to go by for more stuff. Hope to get it done a little later today.

I cut up an onion and a bunch of peppers that I had in the fridge and made chili ... already had the meat browned. Put it all in the crockpot and it smells so good here. I'm so hungry ... haven't eaten much today.

Well, that's all that's going on here. It's really warm here  .... been 86 and sunny. We are both pooped.

Have a good day.

Eileen....it sounds like there was a lot of activity happening at your place!! So glad you had plenty of help getting it done.

Your chili sounds yummy!!!

I agree...maybe Richard needs to try for disability. Why is Richard still having so much weakness? I guess just because he was in such bad shape for so long. Did they ever figure out what caused that to happen?

Have a good evening....I am going to bed really soon.

Love and lots of hugs....connie d

Good evening Judy and everyone....

I had a busy morning and then had a doctor appointment at 2:30 PM. We had to leave here at 2:00. We were at the clini****il about 4:30. I had x-rays taken and they set up some other testing as well. Pam went in with me to the doctor. She is good at having my back. We got some things accomplished for change! I am also trying a different dose of my medication.  Time will tell!!! We stopped at the grocery store as I only needed a couple things. She bought quite a bit more!! Now I don't have to go on the bus to get groceries tomorrow at 9 AM.

The temp here today was in the upper 50s....low tonight 51..UGH!! I am so not ready for this weather!!

Judy...I hope you get the new way of doing the recerts figured out. Why all the changes? I hope you have a good evening!!!

I am going to eat something and head to bed early and read. My pain is so bad after being poked and prodded all afternoon.

Prayers for our awesome OFF Family. Special prayers for those who have asked.

Love and many hugs to all....connie d

Good Evening Judy, and OFF,

I finally have time AND my laptop. I've been out most of the day.

I had to get labwork first thing.  Then, I needed to drop something off at Colleen's.  Yesterday, Frankie wasn't sick.  Today, he also has hand, foot and mouth disease.  She kept both big kids home from school today, like yesterday. Then, she just called me to tell me she had to get Franklin on the antibiotic, because she could see his throat is like Izzy's.  So, she figured she might as well put Lincoln on it.

Then I took my car to Toyota service.  When I went back to PA, I put my back seat down to take a crib mattress to my sis-in-law.  Well, the middle seat belt got wrapped around the seat behind mine.  Trent and I couldn't get it to work.  So, they checked and I need a new winder upper, but they had to order it.  They expect to get it in a few days.  I also got my oil changed.

Then, I went to Meijer, and spent a ton of moeny.  Other than the usual foods, I was out of absolutely everything.  I needed every cleaning product I usually use.  Plus, they had a bargain on the only spaghetti sauce I buy.  (I tried making my own.  Forget it.  I fell in love with Prego: Roasted Garlic and Herb.  It was on sale for $1.69, PLUS, if I bought ten, they were $1.19.  I'm making to meals for people at church today.  I like to make lazy lasagna at times.  Instead of lasagne noodles, I'll use ziti.  Plus, they had  Italian Sausage and shredded cheeses on sale.  It was a no brainer to make it.

After that, I headed to the urgent care.  I've been fighting another sinus infection, and couldn't get into my primary doc.  Plus, I whacked my right thumb into a corner on my sold wood bedrame, right on the joint with really bad arthritis.  It left a bruise, so they ordered an x-ray.  It's not broken, just bruised.  Finally got back to town, and got my prescriptions.

I am pooped, so I'm just vegging with TV.

Must scoot.

Love and prayers,

Trish

Hi Trish.....you had a busy day yesterday!!!

I just want to say that I can make a really good spaghetti sauce, so my family and friends say. However, now that I am alone my favorite sauce is also "Prego Roasted Garlic and Herb"!!!! You got a really good deal yesterday!!!

I am glad your thumb wasn't broken. Mine both feel like they are!!

Love ya...hugs....connie d

Hello everyone,

It's late and I'm in bed, just checking a few things on the laptop before lights out.  Sorry to be AWOL so much these days.  We'll be glad we when get done with these radiation appointments.  We're ready to get back to our normal schedule.

We had a good day today.  After radiation, we drove down to my hometown of League City (between Houston and Galveston) and just drove around and looked at things: my old house, my old school, etc.  Then we drove even further down to San Leon where my huge extended family had bay houses for years.  My childhood was largely spent there.  The old houses are gone, but it was fun looking.  We had a delicious seafood lunch while we were there.

Then we stopped in Friendswood on our way back to Houston and visited with my "aunt and uncle".  They aren't really my relatives, but were very close friends of my parents and a part of my life since I was born.  Aunt Nellie and Uncle Floyd are in their 80s and 90s.  It may be the last time I ever get to see them.  Who knows?  We had a lovely visit with them.

Well, tomorrow we have Butch's radiation in the morning and my appointment with Dr. Garth (my WLS) in the afternoon.  Oh, and also, I have a brief meeting with a lady from MDA who wants to publish my little blog about MDA on their website!  We have to sign a couple of release forms, and then she's going to put my Reflections on MDA up for all the world to see.  LOL!  Really made the big time there, didn't I?  Actually, I'm quite proud to be included on their web site.  I'll post the link when it happens.

And one more thing--and don't y'all dare laugh or roll your eyes at me!--I think I've fallen in love with one of Karen's ****er spaniels!  Oh my!  What will Butch say to this?  But honestly, one of these little rescue ****ers is just the sweetest little thing.  Her name is Mabel and her "mom" had to give her up after 7 years.  She lost her house and had to move into an apartment and can't have pets.  I am getting more and more attached each day.  She's getting to me!

Well, time for sleep.  It was a big day.  Love you all!
