Saturday Happenings
Good Afternoon OFF,
Need to go to the bathroom. Be right back.

Sorry about that.
Sorry I was AWOL yesterday. I had one of those days where I was a nudge. I did not accomplish a blessed thing.
Anyway, today I got to see both Izzy and Lincoln play soccer. At the same time. Their fields were right next to each other. Lincoln is a much more aggressive player than Izzy. He takes after his Mom. Colleen would charge after the ball, and plow through anybody standing in her way. That's Lincoln. Izzy, hasn't played as much as her brother. He's been playing for years. She played, then hadn't played in a few years. She had a great assist, passing the ball to a teammate, who scored. Lincoln got a goal. Ran into quite a few families from church, there were kids from church on both fields with the Munchkins, then more in the parking lot. Love my church family.
Then, I came home and at breakfast. I ran out the door to the soccer fields without food or coffee. Argh. Praise God the weather is awesome today. I may take Utley out for a walk. It's not bothering my allergies today.
Connie, I am going to send you an e-mail later today. Long, personal story is gonna be in it.
Judy, sorry you didn't get your treats at the Oktoberfest. What is Indian Bread? We never had that out in Philly. As for Michael, he sounds like the women who stays with abusive partners. He more than likely has such low self-esteem, he probably believes he can't find someone who will treat him right. He needs therapy, or counseling, and tons of positive reinforcement, and prayer. Been there. Not with my husband, but a few guys I dated, first in high school, then after my divorce.
Francine, I know how awesome it is to shop and find clothes in smaller sizes. You feel like a new woman. Don't worry about the batwings. I don't. I once had a student joke about it, and I asked him how it felt to hurt someone's feelings. Shut him up.
Today I am feeling great, and have tons of cleaning.
Love to all.
Hugs and Prayers,
Trish

Thanks Trish.....I will make it through...a day at a time!!
I just haven't felt like talking to anyone....if I do I will let you know. Thank you again!!
My Yahoo is now up and running....they must have figured it out as all of a sudden it was there again. They asked me all my security questions and had me use a new password. They said they took care of the issue. I text them to be sure this was right. So glad that is over now.
Love you too...hugs....connie d
Hello Trish and my beautiful OFF sistas!
We are enjoying a lazy Saturday at home with NO DOGS!!! LOL!
I'm doing laundry. I cooked a nice big breakfast for us to eat at lunchtime: biscuits, fried eggs, bacon, pears, and fig preserves. It was yummy. Got a pot of fresh pinto beans cooking in the crock pot. Butch wants jalapeno cornbread tonight. Have some summer squash in the crisper, so I might make my squash n cheese casserole to go along with our beans and cornbread.
I think we are going to go visit an alpaca farm this afternoon. There's one not too far from here and they are having an open house weekend. I am really getting interested in my potential alpaca farm. We did stop on the way home yesterday and look at that 25 acre farm in Waelder. OMG! We fell in love with the outside of that old Victorian house! Yeah, it needs a LOT of work, but some things you just can't replicate with modern reproductions, and that old house is one of them. We called the Realtor to make an appointment to go see it this weekend, and she has never called us back. Hmph! Kinda ******g me off. If she can't do it this weekend, that's fine, just please have the courtesy to return my phone call and tell me so.
Anyway, there's another 15 acre tract in nearby San Marcos--no house, just the land--and we might drive by and look at that one too.
Other than that, not a lot going on. Just enjoying some down time together.
So glad you're getting to do so much with the munchkins, Trish! Connie, I know how much you miss your grands. I really hope Amanda and Tyler get to move closer to you. Judy, hope the Romper Room set leave you alone this weekend! Eileen, I really hope letting Richard move in with you turns out to be a good thing for you both. Cindy, so glad to hear from you.
I guess that's all for now. Love you all!
Vic if you really want to see that place...CALL ANOTHER REALTOR!!!!!!!! I am sure there are plenty that would LOVE to show you and make commission on it if you buy it!!!! You snooze you loose!!!! In this day and age fair game!!!!!
Romper Room name has been changed Vic to FUNNY FARM...SHHHH so far so good!!!! LOL
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSS
Hi Vickie,
I sure hope the realtor calls you back this weekend. I get impatient when business people don't return calls promptly. Not one of my strong suits.
Stupid question. My Mom didn't cook squash when I was growing up. My first taste was in high school, when my friend made baked acorn squash, and let me try it. Colleen grows butternut squash, and when Frankie was a baby, she pureed it, and put it in ice cube trays to freeze, then put those cubes in freezer bags, to make baby food for when he started solids. She cooked up a batch once, and I liked it. I just don't know what summer squash is. I do make zucchini, either bread, or sliced and sauted in olive oil, with freesh crushed garlic and sliced onion. Yummy. I'd love the recipe for your squash and cheese casserole.
Enjoy your quiet Saturday. I remember when I was at Eileen's last year, her dogs, one a ****apoo and one a tiny, five pound bedroom slipper, would bark at every single person who walked by the house, at all hours of the day. Especially the crack of dawn. Utley only barks at me, or when he's outside and something is happening where I think he's trying to protect me. He loves to look outside, and watch what's happening out there, but inside, I'm the only one who gets barked at.
Love you,
Trish

Trish,
Summer squash is yellow squash. I sent you a pic on FB, since I don't know how to put pics on OFF. All I do is saute chopped onion and sliced yellow squash in some butter in a fry pan for a few minutes. Use salt and pepper to season the squash. Then I dump it in a casserole dish, add cubes of Velveeta cheese, and bake it at 350 F for about 35-40 minutes. Very easy and tasty.
I'm not crazy about winter squashes: acorn or butternut or any of those. I'd rather just eat a sweet potato. Guess it just depends on what you grew up with, huh?
Afternoon Trish, Vic and OFF family yet to come in...Trish Indian bread is SORT of like a Chalupa from Taco Bell in a way I guess is the best way I can explain it to you but ALOT BETTER!!!! It is on a flat bread with beans, meat and lettuce, tomatoes, cheese and sour cream and salsa. I love it!!!
Sitting here watching MSU football and they are doing GREAT!!! Score is 56-14 right now...playing Wyoming.
Well looks like I am cutting this post short...Bandit needs to go potty walking again!!!
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!!
