I'm extremely late this evening, for a very good reason. Colleen borrowed my laptop around supper time yesterday, and I got it back while I was watching the kids this evening, and I got it back, and had been watching the Eagles game till now.
Busy day today. Also, lousy weather. This morning, I had several errands to run. Then, I prepped a casserole, and baked it in time for lunch. For some reason, it just didn't tase like it is supposed to, and since then I've had on and off problems with indigestion and nausea. Gonna have to pitch it.
In the afternoon, I prepared a package to send to my friend, Ellen. Prior to my trip two weeks ago, I debated what to do about a Thank You gift for a gift for her hospitality that week. I wanted to take something with me, but what I wanted to give her is candles, and I know some people, like my sister, don't like them. We have the most awesome candle shop, here in Perry, Michigan, called Swan Creek. It's a small chain, in the Michigan and Ohio area. Not sure if it's in any other states. When I lived back home, I'd buy between $50-$60 worth of them when I visited here, twice a year. These are the absolute best quality candles I've ever owned. They use no lead in making them. I believe the wicks are made of thread. Just can't remember for sure. Plus, they have the largest variety of fragrances you could imagine, with a lot smelling like different baked goods, like Sugar Cookie, or Apple Pie, as well as interesting nature ones. Colleen and I like to use Lemon Grass for freshening the air in the bathroom. Plus, I've heard that one keeps mosquitoes away, like citronella does.
So, anyway, I decided to wait till I got home, and am glad I did. Ellen definitely likes candles. When I first got there, I only saw one in the bathroom. But, on Tuesday, the power went out in the late evening, so she grabbed several I hadn't notice at first. So, I bought a jar candle in a fragrance similar to roses. Then, I got an empty, clear glass jar, with ripples sides that distort the light from a votice on a black inset. The lit ones on display were very bright, like light through a lite shade. Both the jar candle and the votives have similar scents, and are red. While Swan Creek ships, they won't ship items they get from outside wholesalers, like the jar to put the votive inset. So, I shipped it out today.
After the post office, I stopped by my church to take care of some stuff I never have time for on Sundays, in both Nurseries, plus brought some laundry home, like crib sheets and blankets from the cribe and changing pad. I'd started to wash used sippee cups, and baby rattles that get put in mouths, but realized I was lated getting to Colleen's.
Right after I got to Colleen's, Trent came home to pick up Izzy and Lincoln, and hitch the trailer to his car, for the pumpkins they went to pick up. While they were gone, Frankie and I hada dinner date at McDonald's. I love their bacon ranch salad with grilled chicken. I get a lighter dressing than ranch, so it's helps me stay on my food plan. After they got home, Trent had to empty the trailer, and run back to his job here in town, to check on something. So, I put their supper in the oven, and played checkers with Lincoln.
Vickie, I continue to pray for Butch and you, but also thrilled that he was able to enjoy his time at Budder's birthday party. I'm also glad that everybody enjoyed themselves, and that Carrie's boyfriends has been one who seems to treat her with respect. That was the most important, and impressive, trait that Trent showed while they were dating, which meant our willingness to approve of their decision to get hitched.
Connie, I hope you are able to get some long term pain relief. I have disc problems, on top of really bad osteo arthritis. When my meds, and shots are in sync, the pain level is usually around 6-8 most of the time, with brief, intermittent periods pain free.
Judy, I hope you stay tough and consistent with the tenants trying to have you do drop-in recerts. Do not give in, or word will get around that you can be worn down. It may be rough in the beginning, but after word gets out that you're being "mean" about it, which you really aren't, they'll stop trying. That's what I learned from teaching the toughest students you could imagine. Inner city, middle school. Worst neighborhood at a crazy age. Just like you tenants.
Carla, I'm so sorry you're in the hospital. I've never heard of anyone having such a severe problem because of a colonoscopy. You're definitely on my prayer list. Rest, and heal. I'll keep in touch.
I sure hope I didn't miss anyone.'
