Saturday Happenings

Good Morning OFF Friends,

I did a ton of laundry yesterday, including taking two thick comforters to town to the laundromat.  While in town, I bought a few long sleeve tops, and cardigans.  I realized my winter wardrobe, especially for church, is very full of blacks and greys.  It works great if I'm going to a funeral, but I really need some color to brighten up the beautiful black skirts I love to wear.  They're soft and warm on those frozen tundra days.  I have black boots, to deal with the snow, as well as black Birkenstocks to wear.

In spite of all I did yesterday, my house looks like a disaster.  Today, I have to find a Thank You card, pack a gift to ship, and head back into town.  I also need to stop at the local Farmers Market, to pick up some stuff from a friend.

Must scoot.

Love,

Trish

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

I agree, you need some color. I like more color in my wardrobe than blacks and grays. I'm definitely a red and orange and blue person. Hope your new colors work.

I had ordered a new purse off Zulilly. Nice purse, but the strap is a little short. Can't exchange it; that's one of the only drawbacks. Still, for $70, it's a nice leather purse. The inside is nice and big. I should be able to fit my Kindle in there. My old purse was a little beat up and the strap was definitely about to give.

I had all sorts of energy yesterday after sleeping on and off Thursday; today, not so much. It's a beautiful fall-like day here. Kind of coolish. Might have to wear a sweatshirt to work today. I am doing the Henderson sports section, so not so early and not as intense, although I have to help out with other stuff.

Connie, sorry you are still having such pain. I know how you feel. My doc just switched me to Lyrica (from gabapentin). I'll let you know how it works. Just started it today. Wonder about the side effects.

Well, not much else happening here. I live such an exciting life. Have a good day.

Eileen....your new purse sounds nice. What color did you get??? They do seem to be making handles shorter again. I like them to hang down some, not right under my arm!!!

The weather is fall like here today too. However, it is supposed to get to 60 today. That is great after these last cold, wet and windy days. I may try to get outside and walk a bit. The sun is shining brightly. If I can't walk I will sit out on one of the benches.

I hope all goes well for you tonight and that they don't pile too much on you!!

I have gabapentin and wish I knew someone that used it. I can't remember what medication they changed me too. CRS strikes again!! I have to call my clinic Monday and have them up the dose. This is just not working well enough anymore.

Honey, my life isn't anymore exciting then yours!!!! Yours in fact might be a bit better!!

Have a good rest of the day.....love you...HUGS....connie d

Connie, I was up to 1200 mg on the gabapentin. It really made my loopy but it helped with the pain. I pulled back on it to 900, one 300 in the morning and two in the evening. But my doc wanted me to try the Lyrica, which is the same basic class of drugs, but a little different (or so he says) ... and it's not generic, so if I'm going to try it, we have to do it now while it's all free. He gave me some samples and then I'm filling a 30-day supply to see if it helps. Too early to tell as this is day 1.

Tonight is a little boring. Not as many pages. I'm just waiting for games to get done.

Good morning Trish and everyone....

Trish....I need to go shop for a few  long sleeve tops as well. I have plenty of dress clothes but need things for shopping and appointments and such. I hope you found everything you needed. I love bright colors too!!!

You did great getting your laundry done, even comforters. I need laundry a couple of those as well. I will have to have someone take me before the snow flies!!

I didn't get to one farmers market this summer. I always went at least once a week. I did get a few tomatoes from someone. They were delicious!! You are so nice to pick things up for a friend.

I hope we hear from Judy today. I have been worried about her.

I am glad Butch is doing so much better. That helps ease Vickie's mind. I know they have company for the weekend. We might not see her here today. Still praying every day for both of them.

As for me....I just came back from lunch. We had chicken with mushroom gravy, fresh cooked carrots, mashed potatoes and homemade dinner roll. I declined the potatoes and roll. I still had more then enough to eat. They had bread pudding w/whipped cream and caramel sauce. That was easy to turn down as I don't care for it at all. Some one gave me some homemade zucchini and carrot loaf. It looks delicious! I will just nibble on that here and there.

I was out this morning working on the puzzle. I love to do them as they relax me so much.

I should do a load of laundry at some time today. I need to ice by ribs before that.

I will check in later to see who else posts.

Wishing you all a beautiful day!!!

Much love and oodles of hugs....connie d

Hi sweet sistas!

I'm here, but just for a quick pop-in!  Busy, busy today.  Carrie and Leo are not arriving until around 4 p.m., so that is a help.  I should make it with all my chores in time.

Today I am making a loaf of my No Need to Knead Bread, only I'm trying a cinnamon raisin variety.  I thought it might go well with our brunch tomorrow.  I'm going to make a sausage casserole, tater tot waffles, fried eggs, and fruit salad.  We decided we would like to sleep late, eat a nice brunch and then go to the birthday party from 2-4 and have ice cream and cake.

Well, Butch and I tried to help the kids out and we took Mike's car to the shop for him this morning.  It is the first time Butch has tried driving in months.  But the mechanic is out here at the lake and is only a couple of miles from our house.  I sure hope he can fix Mike's car, or they are going to have a hard time when we're gone next week.  Chris is already trying to arrange her babysitters for next week, too.  So that's good.

I got half the house mopped yesterday: the kitchen, dining room, two guest bedrooms, the laundry room and the entry hall.  I really, really need to mop the living room today.  Trying to get to it.  The rest will just have to wait.

Right now I'm wrapping presents and baking bread.  (Way more fun than mopping floors!  LOL!)

Well, gotta keep moving.  Love you all!

Good afternoon Vickie!!

I didn't think you would have a moment to stop in. I guess I thought Carrie and Leo were coming earlier. That works out better for you. The cinnamon raisin bread sounds yummy!! In fact your whole brunch sounds YUMMY!!

I too hope Mike's car can get fixed quickly. Any idea what is wrong with it?? At least Chris is trying to get babysitting worked out if they can't fix it. YAY...Butch drove the car...that is really awesome!! He might have hurt, but I bet he loved driving on his own again!!

I am sure your home looks great. Remember, you have been a little busy lately...no one can expect anything less then it is. Yes I agree wrapping presents is better then mopping the floor!!!

Have fun at the birthday party!!!    I hope you can post a few pics or maybe Chris and Mike can.

Love you much...HUGS.....connie d
