I'm back!
Hello sistas!
Oh, I have missed you all SO much! FINALLY got our internet service back working again. Too long a story to tell on that one! But the service tech guy came this morning and we finally have our wifi working again. HOORAY!!!
I've been reading the posts on my phone, but y'all know it's just too hard for me to post on my phone. Just a brief note here and there on FB and a few messages to the girls and that's been it.
So, we're doing okay today. Had a very rough weekend! On Friday I took Butch to town to get his blood work done and then we stopped and picked up the boys from school. Both Chris and Mike had to work Friday night and I said we would babysit. Butch stayed in the car while I went in to get the boys. Well, the layout of this little school is such that the babies are in one wing and the older kids are in another. I got Budder first and took him out to the car to wait with Butch. Then I went back to get Benny. The reason I tell you this is to point out that Butch never entered the school, and Budder never entered the preschool wing.
Well, Benny was sick all night long on Friday night, vomiting and diarrhea. Then Christie got sick along about mid-day on Saturday, same fun stuff, and they sent her home from work. Then--you guessed it--I got sick around midnight Saturday night. Lord, that was an awful bug! UGH! Butch, Mike and Budder didn't get it, so I think it must have come from the preschool wing. Something like the rotovirus on cruise ships maybe. I don't know. Maybe it was on the door handles. It was something the three of us touched at that school on Friday!
Anyway, I was so sick on Sunday I just never got out of bed except to visit the bathroom. Poor Butch had to fend for himself. Thank goodness he was feeling better by that point and could microwave leftovers for himself. I was still pretty shaky yesterday, too, but Chris called yesterday morning and said that Benny was throwing up again. Oy vey! Both she and Mike tried to call in sick to work, but their boss was being an ASS and said they both HAD to come in to work that day. So I went to their house and kept Benny yesterday. I didn't want to bring that virus home to Butch, you know? It was a very long day. He never did throw up again, thank goodness, but we spent the whole day on the couch watching cartoons.
Today I am trying to catch up on the laundry and do a bit of straightening up. Carrie and her new boyfriend Leo are coming this weekend for Budder's birthday party. Oh, my lil Budder Bean is ONE YEAR OLD TODAY! Such a sweet baby!
Anyway, I have to get this house cleaned up before Carrie and Leo get here on Saturday. But I'm still too shaky to do much today. I have been having a problem with my wrists the past few weeks and it's reached the point where I can't do anything without them aching and hurting. Almost to the point of nausea. It's weird. Maybe it's carpal tunnel or something. Whatever, I've had enough of it. I have an appointment with the doctor tomorrow. I needed to go anyway because I need a refill on my Prozac. Plus my right shoulder is bothering me again. And I did something to my upper left arm. I think I tore a muscle. Whew! I'm falling apart. Probably too much lifting and straining helping Butch get up and down. Don't know if the doctor can do anything for any of my aches and pains or not, but we'll see. I need the Prozac regardless.
I'm making a new chicken tortilla soup recipe in the crock pot today and it smells so good. Last week I made a meatball vegetable soup in the crockpot and it was great. For some reason, meat isn't tasting good to Butch right now, so I made the vegetable soup with meatballs instead of ground beef or stew meat. That way he could just eat the vegetables and broth. He loved it! So today I cut my chicken into pretty large chunks. He can just ignore the chicken meat if he wants to and eat the broth and vegetables.
I finally made myself get on the scale and it wasn't quite as bad as I was expecting. I weighed 174. I feel so bloated! I figured I had to be back up in the 180s again, but thankfully, I'm not. I am doing my best to wean off the sugary treats and back onto real fruit again. Fruits taste really good to Butch right now. Yesterday he ate 3 peaches! So I have a lot of fruit in the house and I'm trying to eat that instead of cookies. LOL!
I really need to work on some bookkeeping, but I'm just in the right mindset to do it today. Maybe tomorrow. I have never ignored our finances like this for so long before. Since I got everything set up on auto pay with the bank and since we stopped getting a monthly paycheck, I just kind of ignore the whole thing. That's so not like me. Started last December when I had my surgery, and I just never have gotten back in the groove. I just check periodically to make sure there's still money in the account and let it all go. I guess I'm just too preoccupied with health issues this year to care.
Well, I need to go tend to my patient and see what he wants for lunch today. I love each and every one of you, both here and on FB!!! I will try to find a minute and address each of your separately later on today. So much has been happening with everyone, but I don't have time right now. God bless our sisterhood!
Love you all!
God Bless you Vickie!!
I am so glad you finally have your internet back. It was lonely without you here!!
Happy Birthday, Reese/ Budder!!!!! I a sure he will have a wonderful birthday party!
Your soups all sound so good!! I am glad they are working out well for Butch!!
So you finally get to meet Chris' fella. She must care a lot about him if he is coming to visit. I hope you all really like him too.
I pray your doctor's appointment goes well tomorrow! I am so sorry you are in so much pain. It sounds like you do have carpal tunnel. I remember that pain very well!! Butch must be doing better if he can be home alone now. That is awesome news!!
As far as finances goes, we need to keep up on it even if we would rather not. Banks do make mistakes so we need to watch our accounts carefully. Nothing you don't know. I did accounting and bookkeeping for years. I love working with numbers!!
Have a wonderful rest of the day!! Prayers always on the way!!
Much love to you and many hugs too......connie d
I know about the bookkeeping, Connie! For 10 years I was the accounting clerk for the Ag Dept at the college I worked at. (This was before I got my Masters and became an academic advisor.) I kept up with 53 accounts totaling close to a million dollars and it was a LOT of bookkeeping. Before that I owned my own business (I had a used book store) and I kept my own books. I've also been a bank teller. That's why I'm so surprised at myself!!! I NEVER do this. But I am this year. I just can't seem to focus my mind on anything.
I love you for giving me a "talking to". Shows how much you care. Just like a sista!
Welcome back Vickie,
I'm glad to hear Butch is doing better this round. Soups are very nutritious. And I know you are a very good cook, so I'm sure Butch is doing better this round because of you.
Hugs,
Trish
