Up waaaay too early on Wednesday
Good morning sistas,
I don't know why I'm up so early. Butch is awake too. I guess we finally caught up on our sleep.
Today is our travel day. I got just about everything packed yesterday, so there's not much to do this morning to get ready to leave. We're only staying 2 nights, so we don't need much. But there are certain things we like to travel with, like our own feather pillows and the laptop, which always add "bulk" to our plan to travel light.
Not looking forward to the long drive to Houston today, but at least we can arrive before the horrendous Houston traffic this evening.
Got to drop Patty Kate off at Christie's house on our way to the interstate this morning. Okay, I know this is silly, but I'm a little anxious about Patty Kate spending the next couple of nights at Christie's. She's never been to a sleep over at Christie's house! Aren't I a silly goose?
Well, Butch wants his coffee. Oh! And Carla, dear, thank you for the sweet card and the tea. I plan to have a cuppa this morning! Nothing like a little tea and sympathy from a friend!
Love you all!
Good Morning Vickie and OFF Family,
Vickie, I hope you have a safe trip to Houston. I also hope this round of chemo is easier than the last one. I keep praying.
I'm up, and hoping my back stays as good as it is right now, for the time being. It was sore where I got the shot all day yesterday.
Well, I ended up going to Colleen's to watch Frankie for an hour. The big kids had a school open house, and Frank was still asleep from his nap. They got him up for his supper. I go back tonight, so Trent can go back to work after he feeds the kids. Colleen's got her class. The rest of today is a little tidying, and lots of crocheting. I'm on the last color band.
Must scoot. Love and prayers.

Good morning Vickie and everyone......
I am praying for safe travels for you and Butch today. I am also praying that the chemo goes well and you can be in and out of there quickly this time.
I am sure Benny and Reese will keep Patty Kate entertained while you are away. Try not to worry. Christie and Mike will take good care of her.
Not much happening here today. I am feeling better again today. I am so happy about that! Little by little I am improving!!
Trish...I am glad your back is feeling better today!!!
Wishing you all a glorious day!!
Prayers for my amazing OFF Family. Some special prayer requests going up today as well.
Love you all....HUGS....connie d
Hi Vickie and my OFF family:
Getting on here late today. I have been busy. Vickie, I hope your trip to Houston was OK and you and Butch are settle. Hope the chemo goes OK this time. I'm swinging those chickens hard for you guys.
Anyway, I had to take Richard to his clinic appointment. He's called several PCP docs and still can't find anyone who will take a pay as you go patient. But this free clinic is a godsend. This nurse practitioner he saw today is on the ball. I was impressed. Richard wanted me to go in with him because he forget things ... so, OK, I did. And anyway, I like to play advocate for him, because he seems so uncertain (this isn't the same guy who hired me ... I think the layoff and the subsequent problems have really undermined him). So I can do that ... I can be a ***** if I need to. But these people at ECHO, they are wonderful. I told Richard when he gets a job, he needs to pay back these folks. They are take-charge people and are helping him in so many ways. Much nicer than that idiot ER doc last week. The NP was very concerned about his kidney failure last week and ran bloodwork on him, asked lots of questions ... plus noticed he had lost 20 pounds since his last visit.
Anyway after that appointment, Richard and I went out to eat (he promised me a steak dinner for my help last week) and then shopping. He was feeling dizzy so I made him use the electric cart. I think the heat and humidity bothered him. His bp was low, too. It was a long day for both of us, but we both got things accomplished. I'm tired ... no booze at dinner but had a glass of red wine when I got home and iced my knee. It was 95 and I don't know how humid, but it was miserable out.
Well, I've drunk enough liquid to go make a deposit. Have a good night.
Hi Eileen ......you just keep collecting those Brownie Points with all you do for Richard. I hope he finds a doctor who will take him as a patient. As to drinking a glass of RED wine, that's medicine and not booze. Red wine has so many good properties that it's great for the system : a glass a day, keeps the doctor away. ( Glass, not "bottle" a day!)
