I so love my new haircut!! It feels so good!! She cut off at least 10 inches. That is what she told me yesterday when I saw her. It was so thick and now I feel so much lighter!! I should have done it long ago!! I will work on getting someone to post a pic for me.
Wishing you all a gorgeous day!!!!
Loads of love and oodles of hugs....connie d
Good morning sweet Connie and all my OFF sistas!
So, PT was just here and she did an evaluation on Butch. He's not doing too badly for having been sedentary most of the summer. She gave him some simple leg exercises and wants him to walk inside the house (it's 100+F outside right now) twice a day. PT will come back once next week, since we're leaving for Houston on Wednesday. Then they'll come 2x a week after that.
Butch is doing so good! (Please pardon the ungrammatical usage.) He feels so much better and his pain level is way down. He told the PT it is a 2/10 this morning! Fantastic!
I have to run a few errands in town and he wants to ride along with me. I'm so glad. He hasn't been out of the house in days, except for when he was in the hospital, and that wasn't much fun. It will be good for him to get out and see some different scenery for an hour.
He weighed this morning and he's down to 170 lbs! OMG. That's 20 pounds lost this summer. I have to fatten him back up! LOL! If there's one thing I know how to do, it's make fattening food! LOL!
Well, actually, I suspect much of that weight loss is from muscle loss, which really isn't that good. But we'll work on getting him back to normal.
So, since he weighed, I did too. Ugh! I'm back up to 177 lbs. Dammit. I was at 167 at the end of May when we came back from vacation. So he's lost 20 lbs and I've gained 10. Not surprising with the way I've been eating, but still discouraging. Time to put the brakes on and go in reverse.
Well, we're off to town to run errands. Butch will just sit in the A/C'd car while I pop in and out of a few places. Check back with y'all later today.
Love you all!
Hello Vickie....I am so glad Butch is slowly improving again. That is just wonderful. I am glad you are sleeping when you need to sleep! Not the time to be so worried about your weight. Things will get straightened out and you will get back on track. You are just too stressed right now. I think it is great that Butch got to get out some and go shopping with you, even if he just stayed in the car!!! Still praying for you and Butch daily. Much love to you both!!
Sorry I was late getting back to you. I slept for hours this afternoon. This sinus/cold has really grabbed ahold of me. I am taking everything I can for it. My cough is so croupy. If it isn't better Monday I will call my doctor. My fever is way down and that is good.
Much love and bunches of HUGS....connie d
Hi Vickie:
remember chemo is in 3 week cycles, this is the week Butch feels best...then he gets chemo and is whacked to square one, feeling lousy and wanting to throw up, not hungry nor thirsty, and in pain, so you will have to ensure he is hydrated and eats nutritious soups and protein drinks so as not to wind up in hospital again, second week he will be getting slowly better and third week he will be best, only to get broadsided by chemo again....That's normal.....just be ready for the 3 week rollercoaster everytime he has chemo..
Hugs, Jennifer
PS No, am not on Facebook, sorry.
Hi Connie, Vickie and my OFF family to come:
Well, Richard is out of ICU and into a regular room. That's progress. I think they might still be doing dialysis on him ... he posted on FB this morning about how dialysis sucked. His friends are now finding out about his recent misadventures. I didn't say anything ... figured it was up to him.
I told some of his former coworkers last night ... I think the metro editor might go up to see him.
For some reason I got up at 8 a.m. this morning. Ugh! I need to get a nap maybe this afternoon. It's the first night of football season. Yuck!
Connie, I hope you are feeling better. Vickie, I'm so glad Butch is starting to feel better.
Well, not much else going on. Just the usual stuff. Have a good day, everyone.
Hello Eileen....I am happy to hear Richard is out of ICU. That is a big step. Maybe some of his friends can help him out too.
I sure hope you were able to get in a nap today.
I hope your night at work isn't too crazy for you. You haven't said anything about your goofy co-worker so that must have improved some.
Take good care of you!!!
Lots of love and HUGS...connie d
Connie, he has a few other friends in town, but no one that he hung around with other than me. Everyone else is out of town. I told some of the gang at the paper (people I knew he liked) and they are concerned, too. I hope some will go see him. His mom talked to him today, said she thought he sounded weak.
Right now, it's not crazy ... I'm doing stuff for Sunday's paper. Any minute now when games start getting over, it will get crazy.
I did get a nap, a good half hour in the recliner.
Eileen,
There is something oositive that could come from Richard being ill. If he does not respond to treatment and his kidneys continue to fail and he is in what they call End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD ) he will be entitled to SSDI and have immediate Medicare/Medicaid coverage. I hope his heatb improves, but if it doesn't, he will have some level of income. Also,, the hospital should have assigned a case manager to ssist with discharge planning. They sshould be able to assist with the housing and relocation issues. I hope this helps.
