Thursday Morning
Post Scriptum: Oh, dear. My husband is just too weak to go to town today. He wanted to take a bath before we left. I tried to get him to take a shower, but no--he wanted to soak in the tub. I liked to have never got him out of there and back into bed. He's too weak to make the trip to town today.
I'm going to have to check out Rebath or something like that to see about getting one of those walk-in tubs. I told him he simply cannot get back in the bathtub again unless something changes. I'm so thankful he's not throwing up and I'm grateful that his pain level is better, but now he's so weak! What am I to do if he gets bedridden? It just feels like he's going down so fast. Very scary stuff.
Sorry. I just needed to tell someone.
Hi Vickie ....I am sorry things turned bad for Butch today. If he is that weak he really should be using a walker. Hey, I even have to use one. Mostly because of balance issues. His bones are weakening. If he falls he will break a hip or something. Then he will be in worse pain. Sometimes we have to bite the bullet and do things we don't want to do. I know pride gets in the way. He needs to realize what bad choices he is making not to use the walker. Ask him to do it for you. Let him know if he falls you will have no choice but to call 911. You can't lift him.
As for you I am worried silly about you!!! If Butch doesn't start eating better soon you will need to contact his doctor. He can't just sit there wasting away to rail thin. He probably should be on an IV for nutrition. I know how hard it is to sit and watch him going through this. I know how much pain it is causing you. Please reach out to someone. I am always here 24/7....you can tell me anything!! I love you GF!!!!
As for the tub that might be a good idea or a Hoyer Lift. I hope you find something to help with the baths.
Saying more and more prayers for Butch and you every day!! You are always in my thoughts and right here in my heart.
Lots of love and loads of hugs .....connie d
Vic...what about getting one of those shower sliding chairs for him? He can sit on it and then he can take a shower and not have the fear of falling!!! I know it is NOT a bath but its sitting and getting clean...gosh of Friday!!!! Why are men so darn stubborn???? He NEEDS to USE the WALKER!!! If he gets tired he can sit on it!!!!!!! MEN!!!!!! What would we do without them??? Well the one I used to have I am better off without...lol sorry had to say it!!!! But most on here know the story!!!
So what are you going to do to get him for his blood tests?? Can they come to him at home?? Praying hard once again....hang in there both of you!!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Hi Trish and my OFF family:
I've had two days off and don't feel rested at all. It was a busy two days. Yesterday, I went out shopping ... couldn't talk Richard into going with me, even though he wanted to go earlier in the week. Oh well, his loss. I went to Walmart, then went to Sam's to redeem my Groupon coupon for the membership and the freebies. What a deal! A $20 gift card, plus ciabatta rolls, deli turkey, an apple pie and bean dip. I'll take the apple pie into work today (don't need to eat a whole apple pie myself). I used the gift card to buy a rotisserie chicken, some cocoa almonds and a few other things Iike at Sam's that I don't see elsewhere. Wound up spending just $5. Such a good deal! By the time I got home (had to go to Walgreen's too), I was sweating and really tired. Had rotisserie chicken and farmers market tomatoes for dinner. Vegged out most of the nigh****ching DVR'd shows, then baseball while I read in bed.
I wanted to get out to the farmers market this morning but I'm just so tired. Wish I had another day off.
Vickie, I'm so glad Butch's pain is subsiding. I know the feeling of having pain that feels like someone's stabbing you. That's what my knee feels like.
Carla, I hope Bentley will be OK ... I know how much you love that little dog. It's hard when our furbabies are hurting.
Don't remember what everyone else said. Hope you all have a great day. Need to get into the shower and have lunch.
Hi Eileen....you did great with your shopping at Sam's Club. Wow....you got a lot for $5!!! I have a membership but have only been there twice. I need to go again soon. I really love their chicken too!!
Do you use Groupon a lot?? I never have. Maybe I should check it out. I am always too afraid I will get too many other places getting my information. What do you think??
I am dying to get some homegrown tomatoes. I haven't had any yet!! No one close around here has any. This is one of those times I miss my car. I love Farmers Markets!! Most times I really don't miss it.
Have a good night tonight!!
Love you....HUGS....connie d
I haven't used Groupon much, but I have gotten a few good deals from them. One was the Sam's membership; I've gotten some Starbucks gift cards for half price.
I love farmers markets; wanted to get back to the one by the hospital this morning but I was just too tired to get out of the house this morning. Oh well ... it'll be there next week, too.
