Happy Wednesday everyone....what's new today?
Good afternoon everyone....
Today I am having a busy day. I am just finishing up two loads of laundry. Then Tony is coming over to take me grocery shopping. I have two more loads of laundry to do. That is one of towels and one of sheets. Tomorrow I have an appointment to go to and I know I won't be able to get it done then. I am not planning anything else for the rest of the day.
I wish you all a wonderful day.
Prayers for our sweet OFF Family. Special prayers for our Vickie and Butch. I love you Vickie. I am always here for you 24/7!!!
Much love and bunches of hugs to all....connie d
Good Afternoon Connie and OFF Family,
I am way behind on my day. I have to clean my windows. The two in my living room have spider webs between the window and screen. Then one of them has bug spray on them, coz I had a wasp the other day. I killed it. But, now I have to wash that one.
Must scoot.
Love and prayers.

Hi Connie,
Well, my plans for today got changed really fast. My son-in-law pulled up, with another car, and he and the owner of the property behind mine went out back. I got dressed, ran outside, cleaned up after Utley, and went out back to meet her. During the winter, a huge blue spruce in my yard, got uprooted and is leaning towards her house, being blocked by a tree in her yard. They were discussing how to cut it down. It'll be cut down Saturday. I had mowed the front yard yesterday, and had planned on cutting out back today. It was high. I went out, and first trimmed a few low hanging branches. Right after they left. While picking them up, I discovered that Utley had laft me a present, which I didn't notice till picking up some branches that landed on top of it. Needless to say, I got it on my hand. I had just cleaned up after him. Argh. Well, my back yard is huge. I think it took me close to an hour to cut it. But, at least it's done, so they can get to the tree.
I need to get the dishes washed, run to IGA to pick up something, and then make low sugar strawberry pie. I've never made it, and found a recipe that might be good.
I have been watching some shows on On Demand that I did not catch when they started this summer. I love Night Shift, and Taxi Brooklyn, both on NBC. I like dramas with a little comedy in them. Especially crime dramas. I can get a lot of crocheting done when I watch them.
Well, I'm not going to get anything done if I stay here.
Hugs,
Trish

Hello Connie and Trish and all my sistas!
So, we are sitting here in the room, waiting and waiting and waiting. You know, I really don't have a lot of patience in the best of times. I get so frustrated here at this hospital! I want things to happen now.
Anyway, Butch is having an echo-cardiogram right now. The cardiologist ordered it. I know his heart is important--I know that--but dammit, they won't start chemo until the cardio approves it. So who knows how long it will take him to review the echo cardiogram and then how long before the orders are cut for the chemo??? I sure hope we start the chemo today.
The NP told us this morning that we might, MAYBE, get to go home on Friday. IF we start the chemo today, and IF it is well tolerated, and IF Butch's pain is under control, THEN we can go home. Whew. That's a lot of IF'S!
But he is doing well this morning. His BP and heart rate are back to normal. He's not hurting very much either. They took him off of the methadone yesterday. Thank goodness. I think that stuff was messing him up. Now he's on morphine, which makes him drowsy, but at least he's lucid and not wacko. And it's controlling the pain better, too, I think.
Christie says that Benny is still sick this morning. She called the doctor and they said it was just still the croup. Anyway, she's not coming down this week, which is fine. I do miss her. I wish she had been able to come down, but I certainly understand why she couldn't do it.
Carrie is planning to come down tomorrow, I think, but so is Butch's sister. I would rather have Carrie! I will have to think about how to tell Charlene not to come tomorrow. I know she wants to see her brother, but we need the time alone as a family. Carrie has been so upset about her daddy and about not being able to come see him before now. I think we would do better to just have a day to ourselves.
I really have to find a couple of hours to do some laundry today or tonight. Butch had a long spell of sweating yesterday and he was just soaking through his gown and the sheets and everything. We had to change his clothes and sheets a couple of times. So he went through the last of his clean underwear yesterday. He's doing so much better today, though. Maybe I can leave a little early tonight.
I guess that's about all my news for now. I'm waiting to post on carepages until I know more about whether or not he's having chemo today. Love you all!
Post Scriptum: It's 6 p.m. and no chemo yet. Grrrr!
I took a couple of hours this afternoon and went back over to the hotel to do laundry. Butch was doing well and I knew he wasn't going anywhere, so it seemed the best time to try. We now have clean underwear again! LOL!
While the laundry was going, I sat outside on the patio in a lounge chair and just tried to soak up the fresh air and sunshine. I haven't been outside this rabbit warren of buildings and skywalks and tunnels in a week and a half! Oh, it felt so good to be outside!
We are frustrated, but hanging in there. These days are very long. Really ready to go home if we can.
Love you all!
Hello our dear Vickie.....I know laundry is a pain but at least you were able to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air for a while. That must have felt really good!!
So sorry poor little Benny is still so sick. Sending prayers for him. I am so glad Carrie is coming to visit. You really need her now. I hope you can call Charlene and just let her know you are all so exhausted and you, Butch and Carrie need some time together. She will understand.
I am so glad Butch's heart rate is back where it needs to be. Also happy he is off the med that made him so messed up. Praying the Echo turns out well!!!
I love you and am sending good thoughts and prayers for all of you every day! God Bless. I am always available!!!
I agree.... you need that Chemo started. I think being home again will be good for all of you!! Sending prayers!!!
Much love and bunches of hugs....connie d
Hi Connie and my OFF family:
A quick note because I'm at work. Feel like **** but oh well ... I promised I'd work today because I took off last week Monday, so here I am. It's a tight paper so maybe it won't be too bad.
Last night my new cleaning lady came over and spent 5 1/2 hours working (from 5-10:30 p.m., after she got off her regular job). She did a great job and I'm going to have her come in every other week. Today, I heard the company for which she works is laying off a bunch of people. I hope she's not one of them. Nice woman, extremely obese, wants to lose weight, considered WLS but then lost her job, so she's doing it on her own now.
Spent most of the morning trying to help Richard again. He doesn't always follow through but I keep trying. Anyway, got to get back to work. More later. Vickie, glad Butch is a little better.
Eileen....I am sorry you are still feeling so awful. I hope everything works out well tonight and you can get out of there at a good time!! Sending healing prayers.
As far a Richard goes....all you can do is what you are doing. I know this is causing added stress to you and you don't need it!!
Your cleaning lady sounds wonderful!! Everything must be absolutely spotless after 5.5 hours...WOW!! I hope you don't lose her because of lay offs!!!
Love you....HUGS....connie d
