Happy Monday Morning...what's new with you??
Good morning everyone....
Like I posted last night I have caught up with everyone's posts I just couldn't answer.
Cindy P.....I am sorry you are in so much pain with your hamstring....I also hope they do an MRI today. I pray it heals quickly so you feel better soon.
Judy...I know nothing makes you feel happier them being around horses. I hope it worked out so you got to go!!! I swear that town you live in has more crazy people then most. That fight was something else. I am glad you and Rick took off when you did. I hope everyone leaves you alone today so you can finally get those doors painted.
Trish....I love the Apollo 13 movie and the Kennedy Space Center too. We (when married) took our daughters there. We had such a wonderful time!!! I feel so bad that you are still suffering with those sinus issues. Do you have another doctor appointment soon? I keep you in my prayers.
Vickie....you sure do have a tough job helping Butch control that pain. Butch is a fighter and so are you. He will do whatever he has to do. You two are one hell of a team! So sorry sweet little Benny was so sick. I am glad they went to the ER. I hope he is feeling much better now. Thank you so much for the link to Starz.....I look forward to watching the first episode of Outlander!!!! I hope all works out for Carrie and Leo. He sounds like a good guy. Like you said time will tell. As always I am keeping you and Butch and your family in my prayers. I keep you very close to my heart. I love you. You hang in there!!
As for me....worn out but happy to be so!! I had such a wonderful time with Gracie!! We has so much to catch up on and so much to do. What a fun week!!!!!! I am missing her this morning.
Have a beautiful day everyone!!
Prayers for our special OFF Family....you are all so precious to me!
More love and many hugs to all....connie d
Hi Connie and my OFF family:
Sounds like you had a nice visit with Gracie. Reminds me of having my nephew Christopher for a month when I lived in Montana when he was 12. He wore me out! Always wanted me to do things with him when I wanted to rest up from work. We had a great time and went to Yellowstone twice. He's now 41 with two boys of his own.
As for me, I have caught a cold somehow. My nose was itchy yesterday and now my eyes are itchy and I've been sneezing and blowing my nose. Just great. The week I have only one day off (I'm working an extra day so I don't have to take a vacation day for the day I took off for my ingrown nail procedure last week). Plus, on Tuesday, I've got a woman coming in to clean for me ... and I can't put this one off because my friend Roxane and her daughter are coming to visit next week. And Tuesday is the only day I can do it because this woman works days and she only can do it in the evenings. So Tuesday it is! She looks like she will be very reasonably price (she said $10 an hour, depending on the job). So I'm hopeful I can get her in her a couple times a month. That will really help me.
Vickie, I hope the drug trial will help Butch. Getting his pain under control is the key.
Well, that's all from me. This is my Friday. I hope the night goes smoothly and my drugs keep the sneezing under control. I've taken a sudafed and my allergy pill. I also had my Celestial Seasonings Wellness Tea with echinacea, so I hope that kicks in and makes the cold less miserable.
Hello Eileen....I am sorry you have so much coughing and sneezing on top of everything else. I hope the meds and tea helps.
Gracie was easy to have here. She is no bother at all. She can keep herself busy doing all sorts of things. She made me three bracelets and had other crafts to do. We did a lot together too!!
I am getting a new cleaning lady real soon. I can't wait. This one just doesn't do enough. They will call me by Friday or Monday for sure. I hope your works out well!!!! You are lucky as $10 an hour is a good deal!!
I am glad today is your Friday. I hope you got enough rest today and even a better night sleep tonight!!
Love you....bunches of hugs....connie d
Good morning Connie and Eileen and all my sistas!
Well, here we go--we got Butch signed up for the clinical trial this morning. He's got a big day of testing ahead of him. He'll be having a brain scan, a lung scan, a bone aspiration (different from the bone biopsy) and bloodwork done today. If all the results come back okay, he'll start chemo tomorrow. TOMORROW! Finally, something is being done.
The nurse said the chemo will make him feel better immediately. It will reduce his inflammation and pain right away. Praise God!
We will come back every 3 weeks for another chemo treatment. Every other time, he will have more scans. He is scheduled for 10 treatments, although that could change slightly. The doctor will monitor the results and decide when he's had the maximum benefit from the chemo. Could be a few less or a few more.
Regardless, he'll be getting drugs that WORK. The study is to find out which combination of drugs work the best. It's a totally random selection, so we are leaving that in God's hands.
The nurse did tell me that of all the rare prostate cancer types, Butch's type (anaplastic) is highly responsive to chemo. That's what the doctor said too. So we are feeling hopeful. Also, she confirmed that it's very good that the cancer has not invaded his liver. We know it is in his lungs and bones, but they are doing the brain scan to made sure there are no tumors there before they start treatment.
In the meantime, Butch is feeling rather poorly today. The pain is back and he is getting bigger doses of the dilaudid today which make him high as a kite. He's groggy and out-of-it and having strange dreams. I see his lips move like he's trying to say something, but he's not conscious of it. And he keeps reaching out with his hand like he's trying to take hold of something. It's bothering me to see him so drugged out, but if it will keep the worst of the pain away, it's worth it.
Well, Christie is coming today and plans to spend tonight and maybe tomorrow night here with me. Benny is better today. No more wheezing. Also, Butch's sister Lisa is driving down from Austin for a visit today. I don't know where we will be at any given time, so I told them both to just text me when they get here and I'll try to give them directions to whatever part of the hospital we're in.
Connie, I'm so glad you had your special week with Gracie! I know how tired you are. Boy, do I know! Those grandbabies wear us out, don't they? But it's a GOOD kind of tired!
Eileen, I'm sorry you caught a cold. Geez. That's all you need. Good luck with the new cleaning fairy. I hope she works out.
Judy, you and Rick attract wackos wherever you go! I've never been in a public brawl like that. It would scare me to death! I'm glad y'all got out of there when you did.
Cindy P, I hope your hamstring is better! Oww! I can't imagine how that must hurt.
Trish, I'm glad you stayed home yesterday and rested as you needed to. Hope your sinus infection clears up soon.
Francine, I'm sorry that your roommate is having such problems. I know that what happens to her affects you, too. But good for you for trying to exercise! I am feeling the lack of exercise in my body for sure. It does help us to feel better in the long run, even if it makes us sore in the short run.
Well, I am hanging in there. I'm getting enough sleep, and that helps a lot. I'm not eating well at all, and I'm feeling the effects of that. I'm eating way too many sweets and not enough good protein and vegetables. Hospital food is never the best tasting stuff anyway, and I just kind of have to force myself to eat it. But the sweets always go down so easily! Why is that? I don't know. But I know I comfort myself with sugar and carbs--a very bad habit that I guess I will never break. At least I'm not drinking cokes! If I let myself go there, I truly will be lost.
So, I'd better close now. Trying to get all my computer stuff done early because I think I'll be wandering all over the hospital for the rest of the afternoon. Love you all!
Hello Vickie.....first thing...I just finished watching the first episode of Outlander....it was so good!! Thanks for letting me know about it!!
I am so glad Butch is signed up for the clinical. I am happy to hear the chemo will give relief right away!!! YAY....you will be able to go back home every now and then. That will make things even better. Just knowing he will have drugs that work will be so comforting for both of you!!!
I am glad Benny is feeling better. That is the last thing Butch needs! It sounds like Christie and the boys will be good company...also with Butch's sister visiting.
I wouldn't be overly concerned about your eating. Once you are home again you will be back on track!! That cake you had is sticking in my head...yum!! I am glad I have no car or I would be going and getting some myself...seriously!!
I am sorry Butch is feeling poorly today.I will continue to pray that all the scans are good and there won't be anything in his liver. Watching him drugged must be hard. I think it is where he needs to be for now. It is promising that things will get better!!!!
I love you my wonderful friend....you know where I am if you need me. Always available for you!!!
Yes... as tired as I am it is so worth it!! Grace and I had such an amazing time together!!!! It is a good kind of tired. I cherish every moment I have with her and all my grandchildren!!
Much love and bunches of hugs...lots of prayers as well......connie d

Hello Judy....pizza sounds good...I can only eat it if it is very thin and crispy or I get really sick after one small piece. I used to love deep dish pizza!!
What kind of people do you have living there...OMG!!! GROSS!! You need to go to Radio Shack and get some cameras to patrol those areas. They don't have to be expensive. Small ones that can be hidden easily. I would have cameras in the the laundry rooms, hallways by the bathrooms and the clubhouses. You could then prove who did it and get them evicted. You shouldn't have to put up with losers like that!!
I hope you can get to the chiropractor tomorrow!!
Prayers for you my dear!!!! I love you!!
Lots of love and hugs too....connie d
