Sunday Update
I am reposting here, mainly for Judy. (Love you, Judy!) If you get my carepages updates, this is the same post again.

Today we have received word that Butch will NOT be having the radiation treatments. Instead he is going to start on chemo immediately. The research nurse will be coming tomorrow to do an in-depth interview and place Butch in a clinical trial. This trial is testing the efficacy of two different chemo treatments for the type of cancer that Butch has, but there is no placebo group. He will definitely be receiving medicine, but it's random selection as to which one.
We really don't know much more than that. MDA is conducting a clinical trial on treating this rare prostate cancer, and that means we are in the right place. I will be reading up on it this afternoon. I want to be prepared with questions for the nurse tomorrow.
We do know that the chemo treatments will be spaced 3 weeks apart, which means we can probably go home soon, IF they can get Butch's pain under control. He's had his last shot of toradol this morning. Toradol works great on his pain, but it's so strong there is danger of kidney damage if he stays on it too long. So we don't know what to expect when it wears off this afternoon. He's still taking the methadone and dilaudid. Hopefully he'll be able to tolerate the pain level until the chemo begins to take effect.
Thank you all for your love, support and prayers. I am counting on y'all for the coming battle.
