4 yr surgiversary and struggling

Hello,

4 years ago yesterday was my surgiversary.  It has changed by life in so many ways.  I'm able to play with and enjoy my grand-daughters.  Go up and downstairs without being winded.  This September I'm participating in my 3rd half-marathon!  Not running, but power-walking.  My knees can't handle me running.  HAHA.  I know that all sounds well and good. My problem is since I turned 50 in 2012, I swear I instantly gained 35 pounds and I'm really having a problem loosing these 35 pounds.  I know it doesn't sound like a lot, considering I've lost 100 too begin with.  But in the second year of this journey, I saw those #'s on the scale that I never thought I'd ever see again.  I now they seem so far behind me once again.  It's so very frustrating.  My daughter says to my "Mom why can't you just be happy with the way you are now.  You've lost so much weight what does another 30-35 pounds really mean". She just has no idea.  She's never had a weight issue.  thankfully!  I am very thankful I am NOT where I was 4 years ago.  But I really do want to loose those last pounds once again.

I haven't been on the boards in a very long time.  Any never this one.  Thanks for listening my friends.

Have a good day all.

God Bless

Cyd

Hi Cyd,

Congratulations on your successful weightloss.   And, congratulations for power walking.   One of the ways that we can and do gain weight is by eating glider foods, so if I start noticing the scale moving up, I do a food journal for a few days to see what goes in.   Chips, crackers, and potatoes are easy to eat and can pack the calories in before we know it.   Get rid of the offending foods.   I always do a cleanse to wake up my pouch.   I go from what I eat now backwards to liquid diet and stay on the liquid diet for a couple of days and then slowly work back up to a regular diet.   I particularly focus on eating the raw vegetables on my way down and back.   I can lose about ten pounds by dragging the process out for a few weeks, plus it wakes up my pouch.   If you are interested I will post it.

Congratulations on you surgiversary, Cyd.  I'm where you are with the weight gain thing.  I have to get back to exercising more.  Your power walking is awesome.  My daughter is a runner, and she even does half marathons, but is having trouble losing.  She needs to mix up her exercise.

You'll get back down.

Hugs,

Trish
