Sunday Morning Song
Good Sunday morning to my OFF friends,
I pray this day brings each of you a pain free heathy day.
I have just a couple of minutes before church starts.
Vicki and Butch, you are in my prayers. I hope Butch's pain is controlled while you travel and the journey is a smooth and safe one.
Judy, so glad you are getting new renters andcgetting rid of trouble makers. I hope it makes life easier.
Eileen, hope your job smooths out. It is always stressful when work is less than enjoyable.
Trish, Pat, and everyone else, i read the posts daily and you are in my thoughts and prayers.
As for me, i have hit a weight loss stall, but know it is my own fault. Those few extra calories each day and lack of exercise are killers. So, it is back to more reasonable eating and i start back to the gym on Monday (tomorrow). Now that the van's brakes are fixed i am going to find a place whereci can enroll in the free Silver Sneakers swim classes.
Well, off to church. Will check back later,
Blessings to all.
Francine
Good morning Francine and all my OFF sistas!
Thank you for the prayers, Francine! For some reason, I am absolutely shaking with nerves today. We have waited so long for our trip to MDA, and now that it is here, I'm scared to death! I'm not quite to the point where I am paralyzed into inactivity, but I'm close. I just want to hide my head under the covers, but I can't do that--not to myself and certainly not to my sweet husband. So I pray and I carry on all the while quaking like jello on the inside.
We had a lot of company yesterday, and I didn't get near all the packing done that I had planned, so I'm in a pickle this morning, trying to get everything packed and loaded into the car. I feel like I'm forgetting everything I had planned to take with us, but I know that's just the panic trying to take over.
I will post again this evening after we get to the hotel and get settled in. We have our schedule of testing for next week now. First appointment tomorrow, Bone scan on Tuesday, CT scan on Thursday, and who knows what all else they will decide to order. I should feel better that they have us scheduled and are anticipating our arrival, but for some reason I just feel scared.
Well, this does no good and I must get moving again. I love you all. Please pray for us.
Good morning Fran and everyone.....
Fran....I am so glad your van is back in good working order. Silver Sneakers is a good program. I hope you find one near.
Vickie....my heart goes out to you. I continue to pray for you and Butch. I can certainly understand your feelings and fears. Once you know what you are dealing with you can forge ahead. God Bless you both. Praying you have a safe trip to Houston. I am keeping you close to my heart. I love you!!
As for me....I am working on odds and ends preparing to get my Gracie today!! Pam didn't end up picking me yesterday until 5:30 PM. We then went to the drug store. I needed to stock up on my protein drinks. I had some really good coupons and other deals . I ended up getting six- six packs for only $19.95. That is like buying two and getting four for free!!! I scored there!!! I drink one or two every day just to be sure I am getting in enough protein. Plus they are loaded with vitamins and minerals. Then we went to the river and Pam let Rascal's ashes go. That was emotional. She had that cat for 21 years. Then we had to go out to my storage unit to empty her car so there was room for Gracie and all her gear. Pam is a hoarder....she is the same way about her car. We didn't get to the grocery store until almost 9:00 PM. It was after 10 before we got back here!!! I was so exhausted and hurting so bad. Of course I couldn't sleep until after midnight. I will be relaxing today until it is time to pick up Grace.
Wishing you all a beautiful day!!
Prayers for our sweet OFF family and their families. Special prayers for Vickie, Butch and Judy's mom.
Much love and oodles of hugs to you all.....connie d

Hope they figure out what is wrong with your mom's face....please let me know.

Connie I just got off the phone with mom and she said they told her she has a floating tooth in her sinuses...never heard of that have you? So she has to see a dr when she get out I guess. Anyhow they gave her a pill and she isn't in any pain for now. Said she was crying this morning said its all come on her all at once been so much it seems...one thing after another for her. I feel so bad for her I know how she feels...has to be so hard for her...she said the food stinks there also. She said she told the dr she can't eat it anymore. Its that BAD!! So dr said she might be able to go home Tuesday? Have to see how she is doing I guess.
Right now Michigan is getting some bad storms. Just like Ohio is. So far we are doing ok here!!! BUT more are on the way!! YIKES!!! LOL There is that word again...YIKES!!!
Boy I feel so bad for you that you are hurting Connie!!! Wish I could take some of that pain from you so you can enjoy Grace!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Hello Everyone:
My cleaning man is here for his monthly cleaning, he seems to be doing it faster and faster and caught him rinsing off the toilet brush in my bathroom sink, and after wiping the toilet down, he used same rag to wipe down my sink and bathroom counter top.....yech!
Maybe time to look for another one, but who knows what they all do when you are no****ching them. Think I will slosh everything down with Javex after he goes to be sure things are disinfected to my liking, goes for kitchen countertops as well, notice he doesn't do inside of microwave anymore and countertop oven, maybe just as well as will do it myself with clean rags after he's gone.
Just reminded him to wipe down the balcony furniture and dampmop the tiles, he seemed all surprised and is in a bad mood today because of the toilet brush and rags criticism, and now is ticked I reminded him he gets $20 bucks extra in summer to wash down the balcony furniture and tiles on 2 balconies, maybe 20 minutes work at most. He did it last 2 times ok, suddenly forgets its part of the agreement. Think I really do need to look for another cleaner, this one is forgetting too much but charges $20 bucks an hour and tries to get out in 2.5 hours for 60 bucks plus the extra 20 for balconies in summer. I hear him tossing the furniture around on the big balcony, he is not in a good mood . He did tell me his brother, in a wheelchair, has failing kidneys and is not expected to live a month, so I have to cut him some slack today, he's having a rough time.
Hope the rest of you are having a better day than yesterday, although Vickie is not.
Hugs to those needing them,
jennifer
Jennifer...I agree about the cleaning people. They don't do the things you want done and when they do it is with dirty rags!! I have a problem with the lady that comes here. She refuses to use furniture oil or polish. She says she dusts every thing dry. I have had talks with her about that. She still does it her way!!! I really am looking for someone else. She just doesn't do a thorough enough job.
Have a good evening!!
Love you....HUGS....connie d
Connie, I hear you!
re your cleaner, have you heard about "One Wipe" Ultimate dusting cloths by Guardsman. Just Google "One Wipe" dusting cloth by Guardsman , available online order from Guardsman and Amazon, plus I saw in some ACE Hardware stores in Florida, but not available in Canada nor at our ACE Hardware stores here.
My mother was a fan, and she biught every trip to the States, available in supermarkets in the 70´s. Like with everything the cloths are now smaller and thinner, but impregnated with God knows what , still work at picking up dust and nourishing wood, plastic, etc with a shine, even plastified fake wood. In olden times, used to wipe vinyl records and remove greasy fingerprints...still use on glass, wood and tiletops, can be washed up to twenty times and re-use.
I give them as gifts to people undergoing dusty kitchen renovations, and they are hooked. Gave one to my cleaning guy as a gift, but here he still uses wet paper towelling for dusting, I have streaks and tufts of paper caught in hinges and grooves, cannot get him to change his bad habits. He uses Windex on everything, with paper of course.....mother recycled our old soft tshirts, thin towels and underwear for cleaning rags, I still do....saves on paper even though you launder them after with Javel ...you know they are clean for next time.
ONE WIPE DUSTING CLOTHS by GUARDSMAN
Jennifer...thanks for the idea of the dusting clothes...they sound perfect....hope I can find them or I will have to order them.
My cleaning lady refuses to use Windex on any glass or mirrors. Everything is dry dusted....I get so mad. Like I said she is on her way out!!!!
More love and hugs....connie d
