Hi.  Let's hope today's thread behaves better than yesterdays.  I had trouble getting to the thread, etc., yesterday as did a lot of you.

We just learned that an old friend has kidney cancer.  The oncologist is running tests to determine the best course of action.  Sure seems to be a lot of serious health issues going around lately.

I pulled or tore a hamstring last Friday.  Hurts like heck.  I went to the ER because the pain was so bad and I didn't know what was wrong.  So, I've been resting and trying to be a good patient.  I believe I hurt myself while doing my PT exercises for my upper back.  Bummer.

I've been thinking about you all and praying for you as well.

Good Morning Cindy and OFF,

I got up early to take Trent's Grandpa to a doctor's appointment, and he never showed when I thought he was supposed to.  Called Colleen, and woke them, coz they drove 12 hours yesterday, and got in late.  Turns out, he mixed up today's 1:30 appointment with yesterday's 10:00 appointment.  Argh!  I feel horrible for waking the kids.  They live right next door to him.  I had called him, but he was in the shower.  He's 92 years old, and I thought the worst.  I feel so bad for waking the kids.  Grandpa called me to clear up the confusion.

I got a lot done yesterday.  I still have a ton to do today, including mowing my front yard.  Not sure that is going to be done, coz of the heat today, but we'll see.  I didn't sleep much last night.  I have no clue why, but I'm tired now, and have a long day ahead.

I took a frozen quiche over to Colleen's, for them for tonight.  Also took some frozen stuffed cabbage, or Pigs in the Blanket, as we call them.  Trent doesn't like even the smell of cabbage, so Colleen will have them for lunch.  I also dropped off the two nice zucchini I found, and some paper plates and plasticware, so they don't have dishes today, except breakfast cereal.

Please pray I stay awake all day.

Colleen just called.  They found some bunkbeds for the boys, and need me to watch the kids so they can take the seats out of the van to get them.  They'll probably get them tomorrow, when I can watch them.  Coz, today, I'm helping Grandpa, and then Colleen has her class tonight.

Must go.  I prayed for everyone this morning.

Hugs,

Trish

I don't know what happened to Monday's thread I started yesterday. Seems to have disappeared despite many contributions. The site was screwy all day.

Good morning Cindy and everyone.....

Cindy....sorry about your torn hamstring....hope it heals quickly!! I am very sorry to hear about your friend having kidney cancer. I will add him to my prayer list....what is his first name?

Trish....the kids are back and now you will be busier then ever. Even though it can tire you out I now you love it!! Glad you got things straightened out with grandpa....LOL!!!

As for me.....I am  so run down over this heat....the index was 105 yesterday. Thank goodness I have A/C. I am just getting a bit stir crazy. Wish I could walk the halls like I used to do. I am trying to do a bit more walking on the days I can. I am not planning much for today. It sure is beautiful outside!! There are always puzzles to work on and ladies and gentlemen to chat with. I want to put a pork roast in the crock pot so I will go for now. I will keep checking in as long as this site work. It was crazy last night!!

My daughter, Carrie, called me last night. She got a call from one of the nurses at the Mayo Clinic. Lucas has high white counts in his kidneys. They aren't real concerned about it yet because of the horrible infection he was just fighting. The other test results aren't in yet. We should know more in a few days. Thanks in advance for keeping him in your thoughts and prayers. We appreciate that so much!

Wishing you all a wonderful day!!!

Many more prayers for Butch and Vickie and all our special OFF family and their families as well.

Love  and tons of hugs  to all....connie d

Connie, his name is Alan.  Thank you for praying for him!

Sure hope they figure out what is going on with Lucas real soon.  Scary.  Well, he's at one of the best hospitals in the nation which probably gives you a little peace knowing he's in such good hands.  I pray he feels better quickly.

Ok, i am trying again.

Good afternoon all my OFF friends.

I have been reading the daily posts and wondered what happened yesterday. The post kept coming and going like magic. Lol

I pray for each of you. We all seem to be going thru stuff. Judy, glad your mom is doing better. Vickie and Butch, you are so fortunate to have each other and MDA so close. i pray your visit offers you a treatment plan. Eileen, i think you are right about Richard. He will continue to allow you to do for him till you say no. He needs to gain some self reliance one little thing at a time.

I know a lot of you suffer from chronic pain issues. I hope you feel better soon.  BTW, the constipation puddings do work and work well.

As for me, i finally got a good night's sleep after four nights of being up in the middle of the night wit RLS. I finally upped the amount of magnesium and iron. I also took melatonin a couple of nights.

My big worry right now is getting my car worked on. I have to take for diagnostics tomorrow.  It could cost anywhere from $100~$500 depending on what's wrong. The lower amount i have. The higher i, no way. I am hoping since this is a locally owned and i have usefd them off and on for years i am hoping i can make a payment plan. Please Say a prayer that things work out.

On the bright side, i am walking much better. Pretty much off the pain meds and able to drive !!!! :~) My weight is in some holding pattern. Right at about 280. That's 110 down from my highest weight and 80 down from surgery. Not too shabby.

Well gotta run. You all take care of yourself.  I check in every day.

Blessings

Hello Fran....thank you for the prays...there are many worse off then me....I pray for them daily. I am very concerned about Butch and our sweet Vickie.

I passed the puddings on to my friend. I don't think she is interested. Oh well...I tried!

I am happy to hear you had a good nights sleep last night. That RLS is a bugger!!!

Sending prayers that you can work with your mechanic and make payments. You need your car!

So glad you are walking better....good for you!!! You weight will drop once you can be more active again. You have really done well so far!!

Love and lots of hugs...connie d

Hello sistas!

*****in' headache right now, so this will be short and sweet.  Butch saw the new pain doc this morning.  Got a fentanyl patch for continuous pain relief and then some other special pain medicine just for cancer.  It's coming by courier tomorrow.  It's for "break through" pain and dissolves under the tongue.  Doc said that the pain Butch is experiencing is just like having a broken bone.  Poor darling!  No wonder he's in such agony all the time.  We also bought a back brace for him today.  Hopefully it will give his lumber region some much needed support and will stabilize him enough that we can get to Houston next week before an actual fracture occurs.

I didn't sleep any last night or the night before.  Maybe 2 hours each night.  I have taken Tylenol PM and I'm laying down for a nap.  My head feels like it's going to explode.

Love you all!

 Vickie
