Happy Thursday everyone....what's new today?
Hi Connie and my OFF family:
I hope you are not in pain today, Connie. I had a minor backache when I got up, but an icepack seemed to get rid of it.
I got the info from the local bariatric center about transferring over to it ... it would cost $575 ... no way will I do that! Can't afford it. I am just getting back on my feet financially. Finally got caught up on my car payments and am making all my other payments on time (you would be proud of me, Connie, I am writing down what bills I need to pay every paycheck and then deciding what I can buy after that). So I guess I will just have to go it alone.
Back to work tonight. I spent part of last night hooking up Chromecast to my TV so I can watch baseball games on the TV and not on my computer or Kindle Fire. It hooked up and updated, but I haven't played with it yet. Also watched a movie on cable (on-demand) "12 Years A Slave" ... good movie, the only complaint was the type explaining what happened to the main character after the end of the movie was so small I couldn't read it. So I had to get up, rewind and read it that way. It was a small treat, to get that movie. I'd been wanting to see it for awhile.
Oh well, that's all that's going on here. I think I told everyone I'm having foot surgery in October.
Hello Eileen.....my pain sucks today!! All because of the long hours waiting for Pam to shop!! I don't care how she does it but I am in no condition to be anywhere that long!! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day. I am glad to know your back feels better!!
WOW...and I thought my bariatric was expensive!! It was $200 up front but that didn't include the special food and nutrients I would needed. I am doing my best on my own too!!
I envy you ladies that can fix things and hook up TVs and computers and such....I always call a guy over to do it!!
I am sooooo PROUD of you!!!!!! I am glad you are doing so well with your money. It feels good doesn't it?? YOU are in charge not the money!! That is awesome!!!!!!
I remember you mentioning that movie. I am happy you finally got to see it!
Love and oodles of hugs.....connie d
I too am proud of your newfound money handling. Keep up the good budgeting work....and take care of your former boss now friend , Richard as he needs you....so sad he is not getting anywhere with job applications. Lesson for all of us at our age: no one really wants us unless they inherited us and are stuck with us until they can build up a negative file on us....be careful!
Best of luck!
jennifer
Hello Connie and all my sistas!
I am finally back home (nearly noon) after a busy morning. I'm glad this is the last day of swimming lessons! Besides that, I also went to the bank, filled the car with gas, and got the car serviced. Oh, and made a quick stop at the store for a cake mix (for Christie's birthday party on Sunday) that I forgot to buy yesterday.
I have another headache today. Can't tell if it's because of the chiro adjustments or just because I'm so tense all the time right now. I just took 2 advil (I know, I know) because I have to get rid of this headache quickly. Taking Butch to the doctor this afternoon and I need to feel well in a couple of hours.
Butch is not having a good day. He's having a lot more pain and discomfort since yesterday. Worries me to death! He's swallowing pain pills every few hours, but he's not getting as much relief from them as he was last week.
We are having a small family birthday party for Christie on Sunday. Carrie is coming down for the day, too, so it really will be all the family. I'm glad for the girls to get to spend some time with their daddy, because once we go to Houston to MDA, I just don't know how things will be. I suspect we will be there a long time. The rest of the summer and on through fall maybe. I plan to pack enough clothes and stuff that if they tell us they need to start treatment right away, we can just stay there. (It's a 4 hour drive from SA to Houston, so it's better to go prepared. I don't know how Butch is going to manage to ride in the car for 4 hours anyway.)
Well, I must lie down for a bit now and see if I can shake this headache before it's time to get up and go again.
Love you all!
Good Afternoon. It's nice to see so many posts today!
Connie, my mom used to shop like Pam does -- going down every aisle and looking at every thing on those aisles. It was hard when she used a walker and then a wheelchair as a lot of the aisles are narrow and she'd be in the middle of the aisle and other shoppers would get exasperated. Anyway, I feel your pain.
Jennifer, you'll have to let us know how the wine you bottled tastes when you get to have it. I used to love a good rose'. I'm more into decaf coffee (specifically, sf/, f/f vanilla lattes) these days. But I do remember the days when I would enjoy a glass of wine with some cheese and sweet pickles.
Trish, you do so much for everyone. I hope you can take some time for yourself.
Vickie, good to see you posting. Sorry to hear that Butch is still in so much pain. Hopefully, the dr. today can do something for him in that regard. Am glad to see that he goes to MDA on the 28th. You are wise to bring enough clothing, meds, etc., so that you can stay on if need be (which, hopefully, will happen -- hoping they start treatment immediately).
Eileen, I'm glad to hear that things are better financially for you. I'm anal about keeping track of bills and when things are due. I go overboard with it, I know.
Thoughts and prayers for all.

Judy, you are right! I was concentrating so hard on remembering what I wanted to comment on -- that I completely spaced that omission. CRS!!!
We got up early for a car service appointment and then came home to have lunch and relax before going back out for a dental appointment. Other than that, not much planned for today. Looking forward to tomorrow as our dog starts the last summer session of Agility. We missed two sets of sessions due to hubby's mom and such but are resuming attending tomorrow. That will be fun for us and for him!
After I posted, I saw that you posted. Glad your mom got moved to the facility she wanted and hopefully, she will steadily improve there. You know, my mom and my MIL both got lots of UTI's the last years of their lives. Both of them were cognitively affected by them. Whenever they started not making much sense, we'd have them tested to see if they had a UTI and I would say 90% of the time they did. (They both suffered with Alzheimer's/Dementia as well.)
Hope that you can relax a bit about your mom now that she's been moved and is being treated for the UTI and all.
Take care.

Cindy...LOL after I said you didn't post I noticed I didn't either!!! OMG!!!!!! DUH!!!!!!!!
Yes I am finally calming down here SOME!!! Mom is at rehab and will know more tonight how she is really doing because therapy starts today after her move there yesterday. Hopefully her infection is gone now as she has been on antibiotics few days already now. SIGHS....
Always liked agility watching with the dogs...never DID it with mine because I never could run that fast for fear of my knee giving out!!! Always had the fear it would in conformation ring when I showed but knock on wood it never did!!! Happened while I trained though...fell flat on my face once!! Skinned my knees and hands and elbow pretty good!!! But never happened in the ring!!! Thankyou GOD!!!! I would have died!!!!!!! LOL
Hope hubby is doing well...take care!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSS
Judy, I have trouble with my knees and hips -- hubby runs with our dog at Agility. Sometimes, he has a heck of a time keeping up with the little guy!!
Thank you for thinking of my hubby. He is doing pretty well. I think, more than anything, he feels relief in the knowledge that his mom is no longer suffering and is in Heaven with all those who went before her. So, we think they are all having a party up there in Heaven!! It is hard watching a loved one decline -- no matter what the reason of the decline is. I think that's really the hardest part. It's been a few years now since my own mom passed and I choose to remember her as the vibrant woman she was for most of her life. I even dream of her that way.
Let us know how your mom sounds when you talk to her later today. I'm saying prayers for her and for you.
