Happy Thursday everyone....what's new today?

Good morning everyone!!!!

I woke up hearing from Nic at 7:00 AM. He wanted to let me know he is getting insurance on the car. I gave him a month to get it organized. Now I can cancel my insurance. That will help me a lot!!

I have a doctor appointment this afternoon. My volunteer driver gets here at 1:00 PM. My appointment is at 1:30 PM. The drive is to the other side of town. It takes about 20 minutes to get there depending on traffic. It is just a follow up on my new pain meds.

I really don't have anything else to do today. I think I will be in bed early tonight!

Wishing you all a beautiful day!!

Prayers for our wonderful OFF family.

Much love  and many hugs  to all....connie d

Good morning Connie and OFF Family:

Yesterday had a fun day bottling wines with a friend and her cousin, and  we dropped by a Chinese restaurant for lunch where all I can eat is 2 largish vegetarian spring rolls and my share of tea and I am full. So much standing with wine bottling that I sat and watched a movie on tv when I got home...the wine, especially the red needs to age at home so wont really be drinkable until November, so just in time for Christmas. The white is supposed to be drinkable now, but will let it rest a bit, we split orders so share 50/50 in costs and my share is 13 bottles each of white and red at about $5 a bottle so is a good deal if really drinkable. This is a new fun experience for me and hope the wine turns out ok, as have had really bad wines but these tasted ok in a tasting over a month ago in the store.

Made a couscous salad for dinner last night with cukes, tomatoes, fresh herbs, raisins, pine nuts, olive oil, recipe I found on internet, and very tasty and filling. Plenty to eat cold again tonight as meeting a dear friend and retired colleague for lunch today ( my breakfast was a coffee, small peach and pear), my treat as his 71st birthday....

Hope I have enough energy to go to the condo pool this afternoon as yesterday got too comfy with my couch and movie. Lately my legs are really stiff and achy and the pool is a great place to stretch and exercise. I am restarting for a third time on a brand name hormone antagonist for my cancer as developed allergic side effects to the generics twice so far...hope third time on this new med works for me, fingers crossed.

Hope those like Vickie and Judy under great stress, or many of our OFF  family in chronic physical or emotional pain, get through the day and have a better one tomorrow.

Hugs to those in need

Hello Jennifer....I think getting together with some friends to bottle wine would be fun!! I am sure it will turn out great!! The cost is sure worth the work involved!!

Are you getting in enough protein?? I always worry about that. I saw that salad recipe on Facebook and I plan on making it too. I need to go buy some decent tomatoes first!!! I am glad you tried it and liked it. I am sure your colleague/friend and you had a nice birthday lunch.

I pray the new med works well for you. I wish we had a pool here. I love the water! Hope it helps your legs feel better.

Have a good rest of the day!!!

Love and lots of hugs....connie d

Not so much protein in the couscous salad, nor when I just have coffee and one or two fruits for breakfast (usually if going for big lunch as I get up late is when I cut back on breakfast and consequently protein).

Today for lunch had lean hanger (marinated flank) steak, salad and delish fries, and knew was going to eat as signature main at restaurant.  Ate 3/4 of the steak and half the small portion fries, all of the salad so doing ok re protein....came home and tried the ice cold white I bottled yesterday, couldnt resist, but ate 3 slices 25%less fat havarti with the wine I drank at 5 pm so as to avoid getting looped..wine is ok, not fantabulous but maybe needs more resting. The cheese provided another 20 gms protein.  Feeling full now, but will eat much later, probably cantaloup and prosciutto (Parma dried ham, sliced really thin, but eat a lot of it, and half a cantaloup melon). Protein and Potassium high foods, just what I need....plus another glass of my self bottled chilled white Colombard/Chardonnay blend ...I will be in heaven.

Am ok Connie, really, as my usual breakfast is coffee and 1% milk, protein oatmeal and a fruit, mostly 6-8 strawberries, or a sliced pear or blueberries; or an egg,  tomato and a fruit, and lunch is a salad with shrimps or ham and cheese, and dinner is veg plus a protein meat or fish....usually too full for anything else, unless instead I gave into a craving for hot toasted baguette sandwich with sliced ham, cheese and tomatoes which happens now and then instead of meat and veg. In winter eat stews or robust soups with lots of veggies and diced chicken or turkey for dinner plus shredded cheese. In any case too full for even another fresh fruit.

Cheers, Jennifer

Connie, easy to see your mothering instincts . You always worry about ALL of us, Bless you!

Good Morning Connie and OFF,

Connie, I hope you feel better soon.  I'm sorry your outing put you back in pain.  I've been in a lot of pain the past few days.  Now that I think about it, it could be from being on my feet in the morning, and evening, for hours at a time.  Both at the zoo and church.

Today, I'm waiting for a call from my doc.  I still have that sinus infection, and barely slept last night.  Got up late, and must get moving.  Organizing, laundry, stuff like that.  Plus, more lawn mowing.  Bad for the allergies, but must be done.

Huge praise here.  I was feeling sick after my conversation with Mom, coz I thought I'd have to stay with her and my sister for my niece's baby shower, coz Kathy's husband will be home from Saudi Arabia.  Turns out my former AA sponsor is willing to let me stay at her place.  I was actually considering not going back to PA if it meant staying with Mom.  I was miserable under that roof with her.  Made me realize I was always miserable living with her as a kids, and adult.  No wonder I drank in high school, and got pregnant and moved to California with my teenage husband.  Had to get away from her.

Must scoot.

Hugs,

Trish

Hello Trish.....I feel okay...it has been much worse. I should have just had her take me home. You sure have been on your feet a lot lately. I am sure that has something to do with your pain. Hope you get some relief soon.

I am so glad you are staying with a friend for the baby shower. You will be a lot less stressed!!!

Have a great evening!!

Love and many hugs....connie d
