Good morning sistas!

A new day always brings new hope.  Doing pretty good this morning.  Butch is not in too much discomfort and I have been out and watering my flowers on the front deck.  The front deck is such a peaceful haven in the mornings.  I get my day started there as often as possible.

Butch's sister and her husband are driving down from Austin this afternoon for a visit, so I've got to get my happy little tail in gear and pickup around here a bit.  I was so down in the dumps yesterday that I didn't even do my dishes.  BIG mistake!  Ugh.  How I hate to get up and face that mess in the morning.  I won't let myself do that again.

Plus, I have this big fruit fly infestation in my kitchen.  Ugh. Ugh. Ugh.  I've never seen so many!  Any tips on how to get rid of them?  I've already gotten rid of the bananas.  I guess I can google it.

It's very hot here now.  Still not triple digits, but close.  I can only get out in the yard in the early morning or late evening.  The rest of the day is spent inside.  I should be watering my grass, but frankly, I just don't care to make it grow.  If it grows, I have to mow it.  And if we head off down to Houston for the remainder of the summer, it's just going to die anyway.  I do have a tiny green oasis in my tiny little backyard.  I keep that nice for the boys to have a place to play.  But the rest of the hillside is on its own.

I have some more on-line forms to complete for MDA.  We are getting closer to an appointment.  I need to call in the morning and make sure we are all on track, but I think so.  The cancer center here in San Antonio called yesterday to schedule a bone scan before Butch's appointment next Thursday.  So I am in a quandry as to what to do.  I need to talk to MDA and find out if we should go ahead and have the bone scan done here before we go there.  I doubt that Medicare will pay for 2 bone scans, and I suspect that MDA will want to do their own testing.

I have to take Benny to swim lessons in the morning, since Chris has the early shift at Hobby Lobby.  I had a talk with her yesterday evening and tried to prepare her for what's to come.  I told her that Butch and I will likely be out of town for much of the summer and she needs to have babysitting lined up.  She said that she and Mike had already talked to their boss about their schedules, and that he had promised to make an effort to see that at least one of them was off by 5 every M-F, so that they can pick the boys up from school.  But they will still have to deal with Saturdays on their own.  I'm sorry for it, but that's just the way it is.  I think I told you that the babysitter gets more per hour than Christie does?  Crazy.

So, time for me to hop in the shower and then get a move on cleaning up around here.  Hope that Judy's mom is doing better.  Hope that Trish's sinuses are better.  Hope that Eileen is doing okay at work with THE JERK.  Hope that Connie is having a pain-free day.  Hope that Carla is safe in all her travels.  Hope that Twink and Cindy P. and Debbie A. are doing well and will chime in today.  So many other MIA sistas, I can't think!

Love you all!

Vic...get some MALT VINEGAR put some in a cup and cover it with plastic wrap and secure with rubber band...poke small holes in it and place on counter or wherever you like...fruit flies go in but can't get out!!!!  Used this trick when I worked in food court. It really works great!!!

I have dishes to do also!!! Hate when the maid forgets to do them!!!! Need to find a new one I guess!!!

Have a good day today...here we have storms to pop up at anytime...yuck!!!!!!

Hi Vickie....it is nice that Butch's sister and her husband are coming to visit. I am sure your house is not dirty!

I feel bad for Chris and Mike but am glad they are proceeding ahead and finding ways to get the boys looked after. I think it is awful what they charge for childcare!! Hopefully they can find a friend, a high school girl or even a church lady to help out on Saturday's.

I remember from last summer how beautiful your flowers were. I am sure they are just as pretty this year. The heck with the rest of the lawn...I agree....you have way more things to be concerned about right now.

Love you...HUGE HUGS....and many prayers......connie d

Hello Everyone:

tried posting twice, lost my posts halfway through, hope 3rd time the charm.

Rainy here, making it hot and soupy.  Not doing much as aching all over from the humidity despute AC drying indoor air. Will do laundry and shred old papers, plus watch tv. Exciting huh?

Maybe I can work up the energy to go to the pool for some water therapy later, heat and humidity making meheadachy  and nauseous. What a whiner I am, Vickie and others here have so many legitimate worries and feelings  and serious conditions that I hesitate to come here to complain about my nothings.

Just had an omelette with leftovers from last night's supper ( half a cooked burger and cooked broccolini, all diced with little tomato and handfull shredded cheese) and normally use 2 eggs so can divide omelette for another meal, but gobbled all up as was brunch and now feeling overstuffed and queasy.  My fault, it tasted so good, but ever since WLS my eyes are always bigger than my pouchie, even this far out. Some days, like last night, can only eat half my meal, other days I can scarf down the whole thing like today which is double the amount. Why does that happen....is my pouch more relaxed today and lets more in?

Cheers

Jennifer

Hi Jennifer...there is something happening again with this site...I have lost posts as well....but then my computer no longer likes me!! I have found that if I don't shut it down it continues to stay up. Before if I left it up it still locked up!! With everything going on with my grandchildren my daughter hasn't had time to even look for a tablet yet. She hope to get to t this week.

I know what you mean...I am whining and look what others here are dealing with. I have nothing going on compared to them.

I can eat more some days then others too. I think sometimes it is the consistency of the food or how much dense protein their is. I have learned to lay down my fork between bites and be careful of my chewing.

Love and hugs....connie d

Good Afternoon Judy, and OFF Family,

I have had a good day so far.  Taught the 2 and 3 year olds during church.  Then we had a farewell brunch for our interim pastor, and his wife.  I'm so sad they are leaving, but God had other plans.  Missed having Frankie in my class.  They are in New York this weekend, hanging out with Uncle Chris and Aunt Casey.  Chris has sent me pics of them.  Today they went on a boat cruise around Manhattan.  I did that last year.

Connie, Colleen usually has one of her in-laws weed and water the garden while they're away, but Jenn is due to have her third baby, any day now.  She didn't want to ask her to do that this year.  The garden is huge, with about 30 tomato plants, along with squash, beans (which the critters are stealing), and peppers.  I only have to weed around the tomatoes.  I don't mind, because she always shares the bounty with me when she picks stuff.  I can't avoid the allergens, because I'm allergic to every tree in this part of Michigan, as well as every weed, except ragweed.  So, just being outside is a trigger.  That's why I keep my A/C on all the time.  Keep the air a little less triggery.

Vickie, I agree with Connie about staying off the Internet.  Knowledge is good, when you know exactly what you're dealing with.  Talk to the docs first.  I'm glad Butch was given the Norco.  I've been on it, and it's not as strong as other pain killers are, but I'm so used to pain meds, it's mild to me.  Percocet doesn't even make me drowsy, and that's more powerful than Codeine or Hydrocodone.

Judy, hang in there with your family.  You can't change them, as much as you'd like to.  If you can call the nurse, do that.  I had posted a joke on Facebook, making fun of my sister's inability to use her iPhone, while my four year old grandson can use it, and someone she knows saw it, and told her.  She has a laptop, she doesn't use.  Same for her Nook, and iPhone.  It makes it inconvenient for the rest of us, because she's harder to reach, but I just go with the flow.

I'm taking a break, before I tackle my sink full of pots and pans.  Argh!

Love to all.

Trish

Trish, I DO call the nurses and I am on HOLD for so long I waste my minutes! I leaves messages for the NURSES to CALL E BACK and NEVER get calls back either!!! I am at the point I don't care any more. If it gets serious enough they will call...right??? Sure they will....I give up.

I don't have a garden this year...don't care...it will just flood anyhow. Seems there is a lot right now I don't care about. Jus in my own world here where I am alone.

Glad you had a good day.
