Yeah, Judy, it's important for your mom to get up and walking ... and they will do that, even if it's with the walker. You remember how it was with us. It's even more important with the older patients. They may not walk her but they may get her in a chair and move her legs. It's important to prevent the blood clots and pneumonia.
Swinging chickens for ya ... take a deep breath. There's nothing you can do for her.
Eileen talking to my JERK brother I never know WHEN to believe him...well he was WRONG about her getting up to walk tonight!!!!!!! I talked to my sister and she said mom is way to weak yet to get up to walk! Dr said in the morning they will get her up. That sounds more like it to me!! Trust me I am glad am here far away from him or else!!!!!!!!!!!!! He makes me so MAD!!!!!!!!!! As for my younger brother that is IN CHARGE of mom's health...he has called me once so far!!!!!! And that was last night!!!!!!!!!! MAD???? You better believe it!!!!!!!!! My family really sucks!!!!!!!!! After my mom is gone (GOD forbid) I am done with my family. My son is still in Michigan and I will still go see him...nobody else really keeps in touch with me at all.
Thanks for being here for me!!!

Judy,
You and your mom continue to be in my prayers.
Your mom will probably be discharged to a physical rehab facility. It is so important for her to get uo and move.
I know this will probably frighten you, but i think it only fair that you know that there is a higb incedence of the elderly becoming medically fragile and dying after a hip fracture. The main reason, is non-compliance with physical therapy, getting up and moving which leads to a feeling they have lost control of their lives. I say this so you can do everything you can to encourage your mom to get up and get moving. I know how hard it is with parents. I was the primary care giver for both my parents for a short period. It was very hard To push them to get up and go, to do their exercises. ....
Ok, i have probably said too much, but i think the more information you have the more congruent you can be when encouraging your mom.
Get some rest my dear. This will be a long process and you need to take care of yourself.
Blessings, you are in my prayers,
Francine
Hi Judy,
I'm continuing to pray for your Mom, and you. I'm sorry you have a bad relationship with your brothers. I can't imagine what it's like. My brothers, sister and I were so close. We were allies where Mom was concerned, coz she's nuts. I miss my brothers terribly. Sis and I talk all the time. She deals with Mom better than I do.
Keep trusting the Lord for your Mom's care. He's the Great Physician, and He loves you both.
Hugs,
Trish
