How's your Tuesday going?
Good morning sistas!
Well, we are all concerned about Judy's mom. Hope we hear from her soon.
My neck and upper back are all very very sore this morning after my chiro adjustment yesterday. I'm not sure what I think about all this chiro stuff. And from what I can tell, the chiro isn't helping Butch at all. He gets maybe an hour or two of relief after an adjustment and then it's right back to being in pain again.
He did have his MRI yesterday and we can get the results tomorrow (I think). Butch is so frustrated with being in pain and having to be inactive! So I've started researching orthopedic/spine specialists in San Antonio. Have a call into one office, but I already know they'll prolly just want to do surgery. Not sure if we're ready for that or not, but something has to happen soon. The poor man needs some relief!
Today I'm spending my time inside the house, trying to get each guest room ready for company. I'm also washing all of the linens on our bed. Our bed reeks of Ben Gay smell. Ugh. So I have it all stripped down to the mattress pad and it's all getting washed and line dried today.
Not much else to report around here. Praying for Judy's mom. Praying for Eileen's situation at work. (What a total jerk, Eileen. Don't let him run you off. Maybe HE'LL be the one to leave. Make up your mind to outlast him! I had to do that with a co-worker once. I was determined NOT to be the one to leave, and finally she did.) I'm sure there are others I'm forgetting to mention, but you know I love you all!
Post Scriptum: Got Butch an appointment on THURSDAY at 10 a.m. with the Orthopaedic and Spine Institute of San Antonio. I can't believe we got such a quick appointment. We had to agree to go to their satellite office in Boerne, but heck, that's actually closer for us than going into SA. Same doctors, and the first available appointment in SA was 3 weeks.
Now, got to remember to go by the hospital in New Braunfels tomorrow and get his MRI results to take with us. I know our prayer list is growing, but please pray that we can get the poor man some relief from the pain and that the specialists can work out a treatment plan for him (either surgical or not--as long as it works). Thanks!
Vickie: My hubby had a very painful back ache for a long while. The dr. did an ultrasound and found he had a kidney stone that needed to be removed as it was too big to pass. He had no other symptoms. I'm sure the MRI will tell the dr.'s what is going on. Prayers for you and Butch are continuing.

Hi Cindy!
Yeah, I was initially afraid it was something internal causing the intense pain, but after seeing the x-rays the chiropractor took of Butch's spine, I now believe his back pain originates from there. He's got multiple problems with his lower spine. I think he must have been hurting for a long, long time, but being the "tough guy" that he is, he just ignored it until it became too big of a problem to be easily fixed. I knew he was hurting in April before we left for Belize, but he wouldn't admit to it being "anything serious". Then when we came back from Belize at the end of May, he was in between coverages from his old insurance and the Medicare, so he wouldn't go to the doctor in June either. Now it is a big problem and there's lots of pain and he's miserable.
He still thinks he's a young buck who can just "shake it off". Men. He is feeling his age and he doesn't like it, not one little bit. He especially doesn't like me to remind him he's almost 70. I want to help him, but he's got to try a little bit, too, you know?
But, yes, hopefully we'll get some real information from the MRI and the spine specialist on Thursday will be able to make a treatment plan that will help him.
Thank you for the prayers!
Good afternoon Vickie and everyone....
Judy....I am still concerned about your mother. I know the surgery went well but that is it so far. I am always available for you!!
Vickie...keeping prayers going for Butch. I hope this is cleared up soon. If you feel worse after a Chiro don't go anymore. A little soar is one thing but you sound like you have more pain then that. That is how it worked for me. Can't go anymore.
I know Trish and Jennifer posted...darn if I can remember what....CRS!!! Sorry everyone!! Too much on my mind right now.
I am sooooo upset at this computer....starts up fine and 5 minutes later it locks up...sometimes less then that. I tried for most of 4.5 hours trying to keep it going! FINALLY!!!!!
I think I told you about my grandson, Lucas. Anyway he was back up at the hospital again last night. Whatever this allergy is they can not get it controlled for long. It started up again this afternoon. He has to keep using the epi-pen because his breathing gets bad. Once he is filled up with steroids and Benedryl he is okay for awhile. He barely can keep up with it. The meds wear off and he gets bad pretty fast. Tomorrow he sees a dermatologist. We are praying for answers!! If you could keep him in your thoughts and prayers we would so appreciate that.
I have had very little sleep the last few nights. Carrie and the kids calling me all hours of the night. They are scared and they like to talk with me. I wouldn't tell them no.
It sure doesn't feel like my birthday. I have no desire to go anywhere. Pam is coming over for a couple hours. We may order our favorite pizza. I don't have much of an appetite.
Wishing you all a good day!!
Prayers for our wonderful OFF family!
Love and oodles of hugs to all....connie d
