Lisa....yes there are stalls that early....I know many who had them.

If you  are eating the same things all the times you should change it up some. That sometimes will trigger a stall again. Don't give up!! You will lose!! Change the kinds of protein you are getting in. Eat at different times. Any change can make a difference.

Also if you are going to the gym you have to remember muscle weighs more then fat. If you are getting stronger that might be why.

Keep us updated as you are going along.

HUGS and love.....connie d

Lisa,

All i can say is they are FOS (full of s***). I went into a nearly 8 week stall after 6 weeks. I didn't start losing for nearly 8 weeks. I was so pissed because i didn't go thru all that crap before and after surgery and have life altering surgery to lose only 30 lbs. But my doctor reassured me that i would start to lose again and i just needed ti be patient.

In January i started using a website called Calorie Count. It is free. I log everything and in addition to the wonderful OFF family, i have found people who are on a weight loss (or in some cases, just getting healthy journey) who are incredibly supportive.

if they say there is no such thing as a stall, the WTF do they say are happening with you? If they can't give you any explanation or recommendations, then my guess is they are doing the old "blame the patient " song and dance. I that is the case, i would question their program and their program's credibility.

I think every one in the OFF family has had at least one stall. Just keep on eating right... BTW i was told by the dietician when i talked to her at 4 weeks into my first stall that i was not eating enough. She saidcto bump my calories to at least 1000 cals a day and 70~80 grams of protein.  It took awhile, but i finally started losing again at 1200~1300 calories and 80 grams of protein.  I am not saying that is right for me, but it would seem your calories are so low (especially with the added exercise ) and your body is in starvation mode and your metabolism has shut down. I can't tell you what to do, but if they aren't giving you options to help, adding calories is worth a shot.

Don't give up and don't let the creeps get you down. I hope the information helps.

Blessings,

Francine

Lisa...what Connie and Fran told you is right!!! Try doing what they said and see what happens!!! More protein and maybe less exercise? See if that helps get the losing to start up again...Eating at different times also...switch your breakfast and supper meals around also see if that helps too!!!! Like I told you before...I had MANY MANY MANY STALLS!!!!!!!  Just do NOT give up!!!! Hang in there and keep coming to us we WILL help you!!!!

Yes Lisa, advice given here is good. Your body went into starvation mode from the shock of it all, surprised your surgeon and NUT didnt twig. Switching things around sometimes fools the body, ie also switching meals around. Try poached haddock or some white fish like halibut or sole with steamed spinach and a couple slices tomato for breakfast...( perfect ratio protein and veggies) but maybe bit hard to face in morning.....it worked for me, fooled my body into losing again.   After such a huge weightloss first few weeks , which sent you into euphoria, your body closed down into starvation mode. Your loss was huge, more than most of us get. No wonder your endocrine system went into " Am on strike" mode....I only got 4 lbs first week and 2 lbs a week thereafter in first month, less in second month because I stalled briefly, then chugged along at 1-2 lbs a week for 8 months....wasnt impressed as also self-pay with famous gastric bypass surgeon in Canada ( remortgaged to pay his bill) who guaranteed I would lose lots and steadily. Didn't happen.

Hang in Sweetie,  the weight loss will start again. Maybe increase your calorie intake to fool your body into believing starvation is over, and switch things around, lay off the super exercising, fool your body into thinking starvation and forced labor are over.

keep posting, we are here for you even if your surgeon isn't.

Hugs Sweetie, hang in , the weightloss will happen, dont drive yourself too much.

Lisa,

Everyone here is right, there are stalls before six months post op.  I had one.  Not a month long, but still, they do exist.

One way to tell if you're losing is to see how your clothes are fitting.  If they're getting loose, then you're losing.

Increase protein, and change up your exercise routine.

Hugs,

trish

Lisa,

I've been going to get back to you for a couple of days now.  Yes, there are certainly stalls before six months!  What a load of crap.  I stalled over and over again.  But I still kept losing.  I think you are not eating enough.  While it sounds crazy, it is true: you have to eat more in order to lose weight.  Once your body gets enough daily calories to meet its needs, it will relax and let you start losing again.  You're in starvation mode, sweetie.  You can also try mixing up your calorie intake.  For example eat a little more for a day or two, and then eat a little less for the next 2 or 3 days.  Keeps your body fooled. I usually seem to have one day a week when I just eat and eat.  Then I get back in control and do well for the next 4 or 5 days.  Listen to your body!  She knows what she needs.

Keep posting.  We're here for you.
