Hello on Tuesday
Hello my OFF Family:
Other than questions about Vickie and Butch, I don't see any daily post. So I'll start one. I didn't sleep all that well last night. Got up at 7 a.m. and couldn't get back to sleep, so I just got out of bed and made breakfast and coffee. About 10:30 or so, I got really sleepy and took a nap in my recliner. Just got up not long ago and started doing laundry. I don't think I'm going to do much at all today.
It's supposed to be in the 90s today ... already 87 and very humid. And we're supposed to get a big storm this afternoon. So it's best just to stay home. The White Sox are supposed to play a doubleheader this afternoon so I'll just stay home and watch baseball and read.
Not much else going on. Thanks for the support from yesterday's post. I'll muddle through. I always do. I have it better than many people do ... I have a job and fairly good health ... I don't have cancer. I know I need to get out more but I'm so tired on my days off that I don't feel like doing anything.
I will say that the rub-on med I got does seem to help the pain in my knees. I just have to wait a while for it to dry.
So what's going on with you? Hope Butch is going to be OK. ... hope Vickie can get him to the hospital.
Good Afternoon Eileen, Vickie and Everyone,
I am one exhausted Grandma. Picked up the kids around 9:00. Spent the day at the zoo, spoiled them rotten, and got them home by 3:30. My pedicure got cancelled, so I got my haircut, which was way overdue.
While at the zoo, there were two docents in the amphitheater, doing Reading With the Animals. After they read a book to the kids, they got to see the snake, a turtle, and a tortoise. They also got to make bookmarks, with owl stickers. They also got pony rides, and a train ride. Plus, I learned I get a 20% discount at the gift shop, coz I'm a docent. As a member, I only get a 10% discount.
Tonight, I have to go back to Colleen's to drop off my rent. I plumb forgot to give it to her both times I was there.
I have to start getting stuff ready for my trip to Pittsburgh this weekend.
Must scoot.
Hugs,
Trish
Vickie, I know what it's like to panic when our loved ones are sick, and we have to wait for diagnoses. Unfortunately, we can't change anything by worrying, and thinking the worst. I have to trust God for whatever happens. God's watching over Butch, and you, and your family. He's in control, and will take care of ALL your needs.
Love you.

Good evening Eileen and everyone.....
This is my third time posting on here....this is abput as far as I get before it freezes up.
I am sorry you didn't sleep well again last night. I hope you can find something to help you with that!! At least you did get a nice nap!
I hope you are feeling better with your depression. I have been very concerned about you!! Sending hugs and prayers and lots of love too.
I do like that Bio-freeze...it helps a lot!!
Sounds like you have plenty going on with laundry and all. Try to rest some too!!
Judy....I think your dinner sounds great for the hot weather. I had tuna with a little mayo and peas for lunch. I made lettuce wraps. I hope you are feeling better too. I know your trip really upset you. Hope you hear something soon!!
Trish...I bet the kids really enjoyed your day together at the zoo. It sounds like there was plenty to keep them busy! A 20% discount is really good. You may need to start your Christmas shopping there!!
Vickie....I am so glad you are taking time for yourself. I am proud of you. You have to do what is best for you weather it works for others or not. Still special prayers going up for you and Butch!
I had a long day....trying and trying to get my computer working. It is so frustrating. I feel lost when I can't keep up with everyone.
Tomorrow is grocery shopping day. The bus comes for us at 9:00 AM. It is so relaxing and fun!! This trip I will use the electric shopping cart at the store!! I am embarrassed that I need it when there are others a lot older then me walking around. Oh well...it is use the cart or don't go at all.
Wishing you all a wonderful night!
Prayers for our wonderful OFF family.
Much love and oodles of hugs to all....connie d
Hi Connie:
Use the cart when you need it. I do. When my foot is hurting me, I opt for the cart, although I'd rather walk because otherwise I get no exercise at all. But with the way my foot has been feeling (from the bunionette), I sometimes don't really have a choice.
I got a pair of naps ... one about 11 a.m. and one about 5:30 p.m. The second one, I went to sleep and the White Sox were winning; woke up and they were losing. Guess I should've stayed asleep. Also, when I woke up, the storms had started. Juliette had scurried off to the closet and I didn't see her again until about 7 p.m., and that was just a brief appearance. She's back out now again.
Well, I may go into bed and watch the ballgame and read. I'm not in the mood to sit out here anymore. Just tired. Tomorrow will be shopping day for me, too.
