Prayers please!
OMG. My husband just fell getting out of the tub! I liked to have never got him up off the floor. He didn't hurt himself, but he got very dizzy and nauseous. I am just beside myself. I don't know what to do with him. He REFUSES to go to the ER. I can't physically man-handle him into the car. He swears he is okay and can wait until the chiro appt tomorrow. WTH???
Christie just called me and says she's coming out here and together, we're going to convince him to go to the ER. I don't really think we're going to convince him, but I could use the support.
Please pray for my husband. I don't know what is wrong, but I know he needs to be under a doctor's care right now. I'm so worried.
Good luck with forcing him to the ER. Sounds like my stubborn Dad. I wound up having to call an ambulance as he refused to go. Each time this happened, I called 911 and after checking Dad out, the ambulance medics took him to ER, and I followed in my car. Can you call an ambulance to take Butch to ER?
You and Chrissie are no match for him, but a couple of ambulance medics are.
Vickie: I will say a prayer for Butch (and for you, too). I agree with Jennifer -- I'd call an ambulance. When my husband had his heart attack, he kept saying he was OK. I said "NO, YOU'RE NOT" and I called 9-1-1. Sometimes, you just have to do it for them because they are too proud or stubborn or macho or whatever.
Good luck -- whatever you decide to do.
Cindy P.
Thank you for the prayers. He still refuses to go to the ER tonight. Chris and I have talked it over, though, and have a plan. I will have him in the car in the morning for the chiro appt at 9 a.m. and once I have him in the car, he will have to go wherever I take him. So we might keep the chiro appt or we might not. We might go straight to the hospital. We'll see how he's doing in the morning.
As for tonight, I have the walker beside the bed and he did use it to get to the bathroom a little while ago. He's had another one of my pain pills and he's resting now. He should never have gotten in the tub to begin with, and I TOLD him to call me when he was ready to get out, but of course, he didn't.
I have to admit, I panicked a bit when he fell and it took me awhile to calm down. I think we are okay for the night. I'll deal with tomorrow however I have to.
I love you all!
Vickie, sounds like my dad. Stubborn old man. I don't think this is a case for the chiro. Get him to the doctor. A chiro is not going to help him. Please, please just take him to the doctor. I don't want to scare you, but by the time my dad went to the doc, he had kidney failure and needed dialysis. I'm not saying that's what's wrong with Butch, but you don't want to take any chances. At least he's using a walker. He may have a herniated disc and that's what caused him to fall.
You're in my thoughts and I'm swinging those chickens for you.
Vic...calling the squad they could have checked his vitals and atleast calmed you down if he was OK...he could have still refused to go to ER....his BP could have been LOW also or HIGH hard o say...or maybe just slipped? MEN!!! It ever happens again...CALL the squad and atleast have him checked out and let THEM tell him if he needs to go to ER or not...he might listen to THEM...
