Build-a-Giraffe Friday!

Good morning, sistas!

We had a big rainstorm last night and this morning the world is just sparkling!  I hope the rain washed away all the pollen or dust or whatever the heck it is that is making us so miserable.

Didn't have a very good night's sleep last night.  I can fall asleep, but I cannot seem to stay asleep these days.  Once I wake up, that's it.  I'm up.  Last night I was up from about 2 a.m. to 5 a.m.  Grrrr.  Then I slept until 9 a.m.  I would much rather sleep all night and wake up early to start my day.  I didn't have this problem at all in Belize.  I don't know why I have it here.

Our next door neighbor has apparently decided to rent her lake house out this summer.  We've had a variety of folks coming and going so far.  Last night Patty Kate was going crazy barking about 11 p.m.  I really thought there was someone (or some THING) on our back porch!  I made Butch pull on his jeans and go check.  Nope, nobody but some late arrivals.  I'm glad he was here.  I prolly would have been nervous and scared here by myself if that happened.

Today I am in toy-maker mode!  Getting ready to start on the red giraffe for Benny's birthday.  I'll post pics on FB.

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

I'm back home. I left early, came back on Thursday. My legs were so swollen, especially my left ankle. I seriously considered calling the doctor. I started a course of Lasix yesterday (one in a.m., one in p.m.) plus got my legs elevated and ice once I got home, and that seemed to help a lot. Of course, I was getting up a lot at night to pee, but that's OK. 

Went over to pick up Juliette right away when I got home. I missed my little furball. Richard enjoyed having her. He said when he got down, she was there to perk him up, coming over for petting and loving. Our pets know when we need affection. I know Juliette has helped keep me from getting too down. 

I couldn't walk anymore, not with the problem with my foot. It was just too painful. And then with swollen legs, I was in just too much pain. All I wanted to do was get home and be in my recliner and my own bed. 

Well, not much else happening. Paying some bills and have some errands to run ... got to see if I can find my glasses in the car (clean out the car) or if I don't find the glasses, get a replacement set. Also, need to find a pair of cheap sandals to hold me until my house sandals come from Springfield (I left them at the hotel). They're Birkenstocks so even though they're old, they're still good. So hopefully, I'll get some stuff done and then rest for the rest of the day.

Ah sewing? I need to get motivation!!!!! I need to bead a necklace to send out to a friend in Michigan. Got to find my inspiration!

I just got back from Ft Lauderdale! My buddies wore me out! We went to the Miami Seaquarium. It was awesome! I hadnt been there in 32 years since Liz was a baby.

Now im gearing up to go to Chicago to see Vinnie!

Good afternoon Vickie and everyone....

Well...my computer is being nice to me right now. Lets see how long it lasts. My daughters are getting me a 10' Tablet for my early birthday gift. Carrie will be going out to look at them and have it delivered soon as she can. Jamie will send 1/2 the price to her. This no computer thing is getting me down!! My girls are doing everything they can to make things easier for me. I feel very blessed!! 

Vickie....I love a good hard rain!! We got one last night too. It feels and smells so much fresher outside. I went out and enjoyed the day for a while. So sorry you are having a hard time sleeping all night. Do you every use lavender lotions or oils? That helps me sleep so much better. I hope you don't have too wild a bunch moving in next door for the summer!!! I can't wait to see the Red Giraffe!! It sounds so sweet!! I too am glad Butch is there all the time now!!  

Eileen....glad you are safely back home again!!! It sound like you had a great time. Sorry you still can't find you glasses and now your sandals are in the mail. Getting old sucks...harder to remember things!!  I am sure Juliette was so excited to see you!! I know she likes being with Richard but you are #1!!! I sure hope the swelling in your knee and ankles get better before you have to go back to work again! 

Carla...it sounds like the day with your friends was a hit!! I am glad you had so much fun!! Now you just need to get to Chicago an hug and cuddle your little Vinnie!! 

Well onward I go to see if I can get on and stay on Facebook.

Evening OFF family...getting on late but I am here...got a weather report from my OHIO weather on FB for next week and they are telling me it is the WORST yet for us!!! OMG I am now worried sick!!!!!!!!!! It is even showing all the way to the tip of Michigan!!! Wednesday is the worst day yet. I am sick. I don't know what to do. I sent an email to my boss an she never answered me. I have talked to the tenants and told them IF it gets bad enough that they are afraid...they need to go to the other club house!!! No Need to go to the school if they evacuate here!!! OMG....

Nothing else new for me...just worried sick!!!!!
