Manic Monday
Hello Trish and all my OFF sistas!
Well, I'm writing today from the air conditioned comfort of my big soft king-sized bed at the hotel in San Pedro. I'm recovering from an attack of Montezuma's Revenge and just generally being lazy and enjoying the excellent wifi connection we have here. We had a great time in the jungle, don't get me wrong, but the ac and the wifi in the room feel great today!
It's very very hot here in San Pedro. We are out on the "big island" of Ambergris Caye here in Belize, and while it is very stunning, the midday sun is just too intense for us. I burn like a crispy critter anyway. So does Butch. So we're enjoying the cool comfort of our room.
San Pedro is a sprawling little city with small crowded streets (more like lanes than streets) and the traffic is downright scary here. Taxis, golf carts and bicycles whiz by in all directions with very little regard for traffic rules. We have opted not to rent a golf cart, so we are pretty much stuck in this one area for the next couple of days. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, and this morning we found a bakery just one block away. We need to get out and find a pharmacy or grocery store. I am out of the gauze pads I use to dress my incision. Yes, I am still dealing with an open hole in the middle of my belly! Grrr. Otherwise I would be swimming right now.
Last night I was able to sit and read all the posts from the past few days. It felt like coming home to catch up with all my sistas! Since I post almost every day on FB, I do feel connected to my friends and family in the U.S., but I miss my regular routine a bit.
I think we are going to try and arrange a fishing trip or a snorkeling trip for tomorrow. Really need to speak to the concierge about that soon.
We are spending a lot of time together and it's so nice. We haven't had couple time in forever. We forgot how much we just plain LIKE each other! LOL! Butch is a great traveling companion and we are having loads of fun on this trip. Some days are better than others, some days we have more mishaps than others, but it's still a grand adventure and we're loving it!
Love you all!

PS please think of me tomorrow while I have my biopsy done on my cervix...thanks....
Judy, I'm praying for you to have total peace about the biopsy, and for the doctors to be skilled and able to diagnose quickly, and accurately. Trust that Jesus is the Great Physician, and he has you in the palm of his hand.
Hugs,
Trish
