It is Thursday....what is new??
Good morning everyone......
Eileen....I hope you are feeling much better today. It's sounds like you are pretty miserable right now. Hugs and prayers.
Judy...where are you...it has been a few days???
Vickie...please soak up some of that beautiful sunshine for me!! I am so happy that you are having a great time!!
Trish...I hope all is going well for you.
Jennifer....still sending hugs and prayers your way.
Mary, Debbie, Cindy, Cindi and so many others .....come back please!!! It is lonely here these days!!!!
As for me....I am feeling better except for the pain. There were storms all last night and expected for most of the day today....my body says OUCH!! My doctor increased my Cymbalta today. We will see how that works. Anyone here take Cymbalta?? How does it work for you???
My daughter, Carrie, and my grandson, Lucas, and Kyleigh will be here for Mother's Day, Sunday. Carrie is making most of the meal. All I am doing is baking the ham. She wanted to bring that too. I already had a nice ham in the freezer and insisted I do that much.
Have a good day everyone! Prayers for our OFF family.
Love and many hugs to all....connie d
Connie,
I ditto all you said to the others.
My mother was on Cymbalta for her diabetic nerve. Pain. She was in terrible pain and couldn't even wear shoes unless absolutely necessary. The cymbalta worked miracles..
I take lyrica for my back pain. Tried neurontin, but it was likr peeing in the sea and expecting it to rise two feet for me. The lyrica does at least get me out of bed iin the morning. I am finding the more weight i lose the more pain i am having to deal with. So is the shift in the way i an carrying my weight combined with my hips being smaller (yeah ) so sleeping on my side shifts my back alignment and i am much more active. ..all good things. But hate the back pain.
Well planning to go to the gym later but breakfast and coffee are calling.
Hope you all have a great day.
Blessings and Nameste
Francine
Hi Francine...I am praying the extra Cymbalta kicks in soon. What a lousy night I had last night!. I a happy it helped your mother!
Yes...I remember losing weight and feeling more pain at first. Our body is shifting. Hope the Lyrica helps you with that pain. I was on Neurontin. It helped with the pain but I had horrible side effects.
Have a good time at the gym!
Love and hugs....connie d
Hi, Connie and Francine and others to follow. It has been quiet on OFF lately. Lots of our OFF family must be busy with life. I read the posts every day but don't post often.
It's cool and rainy here today. The weather just can't make up it's mind what to give us I guess. It was a long, wet winter and I think everyone here is ready for some sunshine.
I finally hooked up with Vickie on facebook. Ahhhhhh -- the photos of Belize are stunning.
Connie, your plans for Mother's Day sound wonderful. I love ham. Hubby -- not so much. I sometimes buy a very small boneless ham and then portion it out and freeze it for myself since he's not a fan. It will be good for you to have part of your family around.
I have never taken Cymbalta or Lyrica, for that matter, but I know of others who have taken Cymbalta and they said it helped them. So, Connie, I am hopeful that the increase in dosage will help your pain level.
Well, hubby is at the dentist. I have a few things to do before I go back there to pick him up. Best get a move on.
Hope everyone has a great day.
Cindy P.
Hi Cindy..I am so ready for more then one day of sunshine in a week!! I hope the weather straightens out soon. It is so frustrating!!
I am praying my Mother's Day works out. I love being with my daughter and grandchildren! I just have to feel better by then so they can come.
I too am hoping the increased med helps. At this point I will try anything!!
Enjoy your day!!
Love and hugs....connie d
Hi Connie: I too am on the same med, but had to be cut back to the starting dose of 30 mgs as the 60 mgs had me with huge night sweats and colorful exhausting dreams, worked great for the pain, now of course not as much pain relief, but no longer those wild dreams which is a relief.
Went back to work just 2 days, and I am exhausted, my brain not used to the concentration overload, and I had to walk down a hill and back up twice a day, which had my muscles screaming in pain....Wow, am I out of shape because of all the off time I had the last few months. Still suffering today, but have to go out for errands as it will rain the next 2 days and that is bad news for my achy bones, fibromyalgia kicking in with weather change...
Looking after a friend's cat. Mommie is in hospital and I said I'd take her cat my place for however long it takes. We had a good night, although my houseguest woke me up middle of the night talking to me in the dark....she found her food and water in the kitchen and her litterbox in the guest bathroom pretty quick, so she is a smart little puss. We talk a lot to each other, so it's great company for me although she likes her face being rubbed, not her tummy though, and doesn't like being picked up. She touches my leg with her paw when she wants attention, how can I resist ? Of course I stroke her shen she asks for attention She must have been lonely as the neighbour went in to feed and clean out her litterbox once a day, and here she has lots of things to explore, as she is an indoor cat it suits me!
Hugs to all,
jennifer
Hi Jennifer....I hope I don't get the bad dreams...the 30 mg just wasn't cutting it.
Two days of work still sounds like a lot right now. Please be cautious and don't over do.
YES...the rain and stormy weather kills us....I pray it clears up soon!
Sounds like you have a nice house-guest for now. Enjoy your time together. I am allergic to anything with fur or feathers.
Keep smiling....have a great day!
Love and hugs....connie d
Miss Millie is adjusting, so am I. Funny she forgives me fast for going out, but wont talk to me, her way of punishing me......I so love her, as we really connect....I have her bed from her home, but she has gone under my bedskirt, and wants to wake me up early, not my schedule....she will learn I sleep late!
She is extremely talkative, so that is great encouragement for me talking back.....miauow, miauow.....then she's off again, of course not into her own bed......she has a hideyhole under foot area of sewing machine my bedroom........
Have had her on my bed several times overnight, she is happy as long as your hand or elbow touching her, then jumps off bed (seems she was not allowed on bed in previous homes)...
Have to win her over to my rules !

Good to see so many here today. I have had a complication from the medial thigh lift. I strained to hard as they wouldn't let me have my stool softeners in the hospital. Found out from the surgeon he cut them off as he didn't want me to poop in the hospital and get stool in the incision. He didn't even discuss it with me. I have taken a stool softener since the VSG surgery. So 5 days later I tear something trying to go and the surgeon just wants to see if the bleeding/swelling stops on its own.
I think it has stopped but no way the body can reabsorb all the fluid. The surgeon doesn't want to fix it due to the vanWillibrands.
