Blustery Monday
Good morning sistas!
As Winnie the Pooh says, "it's feels like a rahther blustery day!" The wind is whipping around this hilltop like mad today.
I am up and feeling good today! My incision doesn't hurt. My weight is holding steady at 173 lbs. Even my oak pollen allergy has subsided. And best of all, my house is almost clean! I'm feeling very much more like my old self!
Today is another busy day. We have a big load of STUFF (a.k.a. CHRISTIE'S CRAP) to haul into Christie's house this morning. I almost have all her stuff out of here. There's still one more closet to go through, but that will have to wait awhile. We're also taking the push mower in for Mike to mow the yard this week. Have to be ready to hunt eggs on Sunday!
Then I have to clean the guest bathroom and the kitchen area. My bathroom may have to wait until we get back here with Mom at the end of the week.
Now, y'all know I love my husband, but sometimes I get a wee bitty bit IRRITATED with him! I pulled everything out of the pantry because he was going to make me new pantry shelves. He even went and bought the lumber. But did he make the new shelves? NO! So now I have to put all that crap back in the pantry today. Grrrrr!
I think I have settled on a recipe for a new pie we're going to try for Easter. It's called "Banoffee Pie" and it's from a website I love called Outlander Kitchen. (Connie, you know the Outlander books? You can find recipes from the series on this site!) Anyway, "banoffee" is "banana" + "toffee". You take a cookie crust, fill it with dulce de leche (carmalized Eagle Brand milk), a layer of sliced bananas, top it with whipped cream, and sprinkle the top with grated chocolate! Wow. I'm doing away with the argument whether to have lemon or chocolate or coconut pie. I'm making Banoffee Pie, and that's that.
Well, lots going on today, so I need to get busy. Trish--where are you these days? You are missed!
Love you all!
Ok, phone and internet driving me crazy, and i don't have that far to go.
So i will just say Good Monday Morning OFF family. I hope you all have a great day. As for me, i am cleaned up, ready for breakfast and coffee then of to the gym. Oh, i am going out in shorts, so if you hear on the news that a bunch of people were found passed out in a state of shock, or fell over laughing in hysteria, or blinded by a strange whiteness in the Columbus Ohio area, it's me....
I will check back later just to read about all your adventures today.
Blessings
Good morning Vickie and everyone.....
Vickie...you sure must be feeling better....I am so happy to hear that! I think your recipe sounds yummy. My only problem is I don't like bananas in anything. I will look up the Outlander Kitchen site. If it is anything like the books it will be great! I am sorry about your pantry issue....kind of goes in the same category as taxes as far a Butch is concerned..LOL!
Fran....hope you enjoyed the time at the gym.... white legs and all.
Got the new TV and it is very nice! The colors are sure more vibrant! I spent the whole time Carrie and the kids were here laying on the couch but that was okay. My grandson sat by me and gently rubbed my back. Lucas is a grandma's boy, he loves to cuddle!! He also repaired a few things for me and set up the TV. My daughter, Carrie bought me some new comfy slippers and a wonderful nightie. It is so cute, more like something to wear around the house. I could wear it to answer the door. It doesn't look like a nightie, more like a cute dress!! I love my family!!
I had a half of a Vicodin left that I saved for an emergency. I had to take it last night about 9. Every part of me was throbbing. It knocked me out until 9 this morning!!
My new cleaning gal, Taylor comes this afternoon. I am so happy to know I will have her to help. I am very neat so she won't have anything major to do. Dusting, vacuuming, wiping down the kitchen a bit and cleaning the bathroom shower and such.
Time to go rest some. Wishing you all a beautiful day!
Prayers for our Off Family.
Love and lots of hugs....connie d
Oh, Connie, that visit was so good for you! Just what you needed.
I used to think I was neat, but I'm not so sure anymore. Lord above, it took me an HOUR to clean the guest bathroom! That was the one that Chris was using and for whatever reason, she just refused to clean it. And I was just stubborn enough that I wasn't going to clean it for her. So phew! What a mess! But it sparkles now.
So glad you've got a cleaning fairy coming. That will make you feel better, too. And you SLEPT last night! Hurray!
Baby steps, hon. But you're getting better! Love you!
Hello Vickie and Connie and others to come:
Have managed to incapacitate myself: stubbed my foot on coffee table late last week and now am hobbling around in pain, with broken toe buddytaped to neighbour ....bruising was spectacular, but now almost gone, just the pain if I stand or walk on foot. Friend told me jokingly that after all I have been through and cancer treatment behind me, supposedly on the mend, I do this to myself just to get attention. It is really my fault as was barefoot, wouldnt have happened if I wore slippers or indoor shoes. Funny thing is that now am still barefoot and housebound as cant get sore foot into a shoe.
So spending time at home on the couch just as weather and I were getting better and I wanted to get out in the soft sunny "glad to be alive" temperatures.
Hugs to all,
Jennifer
