Peaceful Sunday
Good morning sistas!
Butch and I cannot believe how PEACEFUL our house is now. The kids have been out over a week now and we are finally beginning to believe it's true. Our morning routine is completely different now! Ahhhh!
I am feeling pretty darn good today! I can press against my incision and feel no pain at all. I'm healing! What's bothering me is the numbness factor. So, you know how I tried on all those clothes yesterday? OMG. I really did a number on my tummy with that one. All I can say is that my tummy area just above the incision aches and feels numb all at the same time. There's no soothing it. You can't rub it and make it feel better. It just has to subside on its own.
Well, I never considered the fact that I might not be able to wear clothes on vacation!!! LOL! Maybe I'd better change up my packing list to include a couple more skirts so I can go around commando if I need to!
Today and tomorrow I am trying to get my house ready for Easter company. I got all the sheets on the guest beds washed yesterday. Today I need to clean the bathrooms. And I need to straighten up the dining room. The buffet has caught a lot of clutter lately. I need to clean it off, dust it off, and get it ready to actually use again.
We are leaving on Tuesday to go spend one night in Waco with Carrie. Then we'll go to Nacogdoches on Wednesday. We'll spend one night there and then we'll bring Mom back with us on Thursday for Easter weekend. The drive from here to Waco is less than 3 hours. The drive from Waco to Nac is less than 3 hours. But the drive from Nac to Canyon Lake is about 6 hours. Thursday is going to be a challenge for me. But I have to go get my mama! Stubborn little thing won't move here, and I can't leave her there alone on holidays.
Chris has embraced the idea of being "hostess" for our Easter party. She's even invited a couple of friends for dinner. We shall be nine for luncheon on Sunday. Tee hee! I can't wait to see how this goes. Anyway I told her I would help out with the expenses, so yesterday she bought a big roast beef and veggies. I'll pay for the roast. I'm bringing the devilled eggs and pie(s). My family all want their favorite pie! One wants lemon, one wants chocolate, one wants coconut. But I'm not making 3 pies! In fact, I'm seriously thinking about going to Nana's cupcakes and buying my pies there this year. And believe you me, I'm leaving them at Christie's house! I cannot resist pie!
Well, I'm ready to go out and visit my flowers for a bit this morning. I have to check and see how everybody is doing, don't ya know? They might not grow if I didn't visit them everyday!
Love you all!
Vicki.....Are you OVERDOING it again?????? Just asking is all...seems to me that when a person has MAJOR surgey ittakes longer than a couple weeks to HEAL properly and do all that you have been doing. Unless surgery has changed since I had surgery....anyhow what did your dr say about Butch taking out your last drain??
Went to Bingo last night but we couldn't play due to power being out. Darn it!!! Not sure if they will play next week or not now. Hope not because I want to watch the Ten Commandments!!! I LOVE that movie!!!!!
Went shopping for the plants for the prizes for he games after we eat Tuesday at the tenants Easter dinner. Hope they like hat we picked out. If they don't oh well!!! I thought they were pretty!! And they are indoor plants. Thought they could be either but they aren't.
Rick is going to BBQ chicken today. YUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!! Me, I am going to sit on my butt and drink myself stupid...lmao not really....lol. Yesterday I rode my bike around here til my legs hurt again. Boy were they jumpy last night!!! WOW!!!!! Thought having gears on it would help me ride longer but I thought wrong!!! Got done doing that and here comes a tenant...she locked herself out... again...so I went for the keys...walked t her door unlocked it and she was looking for me...she was by my office door yet...she said she found her keys in her POCKET!!!!!! I looked at her, went in my office hung the keys back up turned and walked out without saying a word to her...I kept my mouth shut!! If I opened it I am sure nothing nice would have come out... This woman is nuts...her dog told her she can't go visit her sister anymore because she raised her voice to her... yeah...soooooooo like I said I kept my mouth shut!!!
Tomorrow it is calling for 100% rain and storms...yippeeee and I have to take Bandit to the vet. Great!!!
Well time to get dressed for the day and see how soon some idiot comes to bother me...hahaha
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Now, Judy (Nurse Ratchett), unless I get some sort of infection, I bounce back fast! Always have, except for last December when I got that damn staph infection. And I do rest often in between chores. When I need to lie down, I lie down.
And as for travelling, I'll bring my pillow and lay the car seat back and rest during the trips. It will be okay. Butch will do all the driving.
Besides, my dog told me to go get my mom! *snicker*
Vickie,
I know what you mean about getting your quiet back. LOL. My son and his wife and kids stayed with us for about five months and they have four kids. Every single day when I came home from work, I found a new disaster. Even though his wife was a stay at home mom, for her, staying at home meant staying in bed and watching TV while the preschool age kids fended for themselves. It took me a week of solid cleaning to get rid of the mess they made.
We are spending Easter with my sister and her boys and their families. Our two older grandkids hide the eggs and all the younger ones search for them.
Two of my grandkids have been spending the weekend with us, so I am doing their laundry before I take them home. Now they want me to make them a big country breakfast. Yep. I'll do it to. LOL
Good morning Vickie and everyone.....
Vickie...it sounds like you are doing way better then Kelly is. She is still in so much pain. You know your body and I know you know when to rest. So glad you have your home back again!! It sounds like you will have a fun Easter!!
Judy...I think it is wonderful what you are doing for Easter for your tenants. The plants are a great idea! I hope no one else bothers you today.
Jeanne....as always nice to see your post. I am sure you will have a wonderful Easter.
As for me...my old TV is now losing it's sound...I knew it would go out soon. My daughter, Carrie is coming up to take Kyleigh out for her birthday dinner. My grandson, Lucas will be coming with. I will not be joining them for dinner this time. I just can't. They will be coming here afterwards. Carrie is worried about me. She also told me she went out and bought me a new TV. I am so grateful. There is no way I would have money to buy a new one.
I am going to go lie down for a while now. Have a beautiful day!
Prayers for all of our wonderful Off family.
Love and many hugs to all...connie d

On the other side of tears there is triumph.
God wants the best for us, not just in the sweet by and by but in the nasty here and now.
The worst is not the last thing to happen in your life, but a prelude to a new beginnings.
Be back .. battery on phone is about to die.
