Happy Hump Day
Good Morning OFF Sisters,
I am up, and moving ever so slowly. I just put a load of laundry in the washer, and am going to tackle the kitchen in a minute. I was absolutely miserable yesterday, starting at 1:30 in the afternoon. Allergies and sinuses, bad mix.
This afternoon, I have errands locally, and yardwork.
Must scoot.
Hugs,
Trish

Good morning Trish and all my OFF sistas!
Oh, Trish, I do hope you are feeling better today. Laundry and kitchen wait for no man, huh? But yardwork CAN wait! Don't overdo.
I have been MIA since Monday because I got SICK again. Grrrr. Another damn infection. They won't say it is staph again, but the doctor did give me an antibiotic FOR STAPH yesterday. I don't know why I keep getting this! Anyway, I am up and feeling better today, so the antibiotic must be kicking in now.
Only 3 more weeks until vacation. I simply MUST get well again! It's already been 4 months, you know? Enough already.
Butch and I still haven't done our taxes. You'd better believe that when I got sick on Monday afternoon, all impetus to do taxes flew out the window! LOL! I'm going to bring it up again today, but whenever I do, that man growls at me!
Uh, Judy, I could too do a belly dance! You nut!
Hope everyone is doing well today. Love you all!
Vicki..... The wicked nurse is here....Did I not tell you to REST or ELSE???? NOW see what happened??? You probably over did it again!!! You naughty woman!!! SIGHS.... I do hope you are well enough to leave the country to go on that vacation!!!!!!!!!!! OK done preaching now. And as for the belly dance...NOT like MY belly can dance!!! YOUR belly skin is ALL gone now!!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSS
Hi Trish and my OFF family:
I see we have two threads today again ... oh well. I had a lovely birthday dinner yesterday (although my birthday is Friday) with my friend Richard. We went to Texas Roadhouse after we went shopping. I had a steak, he had prime rib. The steak was yummy; I have leftovers. Richard talked the manager into giving me a free dessert. I took it home and had half of it later Tuesday night. It was yummy too but I ate too much of it. I put the rest of it back in the freezer.
I'm not doing anything much today ... laundry, hopefully some cleaning around the apartment. When I was out yesterday, I bought more ant traps and some ant killer spray. Man, that stuff was nasty. But today, I don't see ants. So it worked.
Vickie, a while ago there was a woman on the board named Brenda ... she had a tummy tuck and panni; she had a horrible time with MRSA following that and had to have wound therapy for months to get it cleaned up. She did everything her doc told her to do (he was also her bariatric doc; he repaired a hernia, then did the plastics). Please rest and don't overdo. I wonder if pulling out the drain has anything to do with the infection. And doing too much. You do too much. You don't know how to say no. (Sorry, but it's true.) Learn to say no. Please rest.
Judy, sorry to hear about your tenant.
Trish, I'm busy watching baseball, too ... I'm using my smartphone. Actually very hi-def. White Sox won last night 15-3 over the Rockies. Fun game.
Well, have a good day.
Sweet Judy and Eileen,
I hear ya, but I still don't see how rearranging my closet could have caused an infection. Now, pulling out the drain--maybe. But we did the exact same thing that she did the week before. Butch wore gloves, he cleaned the area before removing the drain, etc. What I think is that I was already getting the infection and that's why the second drain was hurting me so much!
Anyway, I took a shower, washed with the anti-bacterial soap, and Butch redressed the area, and I feel much improved over yesterday! I'm still tender and sore, but the bad pain and abscess is gone today.
(And I try to say "no", Eileen. Really I do. It's hard to change the habits of a lifetime.)
Beautiful, sunny warm spring day here. I'm going out to spend a little time on the front deck and soak in the spring air!
Vickie,
I know it doesn't make sense about rearranging your closet and some of your other activities. The issue is, when they remove the pannis, and tuck all that skin down in a new place, the layers of skin and fascia need time to heal where it is. The risk is causing gaps in between the layers and those gaps can collect fluids that can become infected. Also, the more " mature" you are the less elasticity it has, so you are more likely to get gaps. So, i know you are anxious to get up and going. I can only say, you need to respect what you have been through a take it easy.
I hope you feel better soon.
Blessings
Good afternoon everyone...
All I can say today is I am okay. Going through some mental health issues. I spoke with my therapist and psychologist today. I will be okay it will just take some time. This has been brewing for a few months so no surprised that I finally crashed.
I am reading posts....I just don't have the energy to answer everyone.
Know how much I love you all and how much I care.
I am keeping everyone of my OFF family in my prayers.
Love and many hugs....connie d
