My doc used to say half your weight. I was 355 when I started; I got down to 170 ... well, I need to get back there. One-derland is below 200 pounds. Some docs like you to get to the insurance standards of "normal" weight. Some of us will never get there so just getting to half your normal weight is considered an achievement.

Usually your body lets you know what your GOAL weight is when it STOPS losing. Mine stopped at 170 pounds...then I started to gain and lose gain and lose...lol

Lisa,

I agree with Judy.  When your body is ready to stop losing, it will stop.  I set an arbitrary goal of 155.  Nothing my doctor recommended or anything.  But I weighed 135 when I got married, so I thought 155 sounded reasonable.  My body said "NOPE!"  It's okay with me.  Like I said, I didn't do this WLS to be skinny.  I did it to be healthy--and I am!  (The last 4 months not withstanding. Had a hysterectomy with a LOT of post-surgical complications.)

Love being in ONE-derland!  Anything under 200 lbs is ONE-derland to us!  You will get there!  Just be compliant with your surgeon's instructions, drink your water and walk every day.  It will happen.
