Sunday, What's New?

Good Morning!!  How is everyone this fine morning?  The dog and I are up early.  It's raining (lightly) and the air smells clean.  We're going to see my MIL today.  She is doing about the same.  Hospice has put some things in place to make her more comfortable.  She's a fighter for sure.  Our son and grandson were here last weekend and they visited her on their way home and she recognized them.  It was important for them to visit as our son wanted to tell her that he loves her and to thank her for all the happy childhood memories that he has of being with her and his grandpa.

Not much else happening here.  I've been reading the posts on OFF and see that we have a couple of new folks.  Welcome!  Glad to see that Vickie is feeling better after her surgery and that Connie is back from her vacation in Oregon with her granddaughter and her boyfriend.  Happy to see Jennifer pop in now and then as I have been thinking about her too.  I am a cancer survivor and know that sometimes the fight is very hard.  Thinking about Nancy B. too and hoping that she is doing OK.  Does anyone know how she is?

Well, I hope you have a great day today!

Morning Cindy and OFF family yet to come in....

Well more excitement last night...one of our tenants called to say another tenant she was talking to suddenly was short of breath and not answering her...and she didn't know what to do so she called ME....why me?? Call the SQUAD!!!!!!!!! She was so upset she couldn't so I did!!!!! I got them called and then ran for the keys and told Rick to get in gear incase I couldn't get in!!!!! Good thing he came because she had her screen door locked also!!!! He couldn't get the handle to pop open so he had no choice but break the glass!!! We got in and we found her in her chair laid out...she was in bad shape!! He told her to hang on and held her hand and I told her the same thing the squad was on the way...we could hear the sirens... went back outside...I didn't want to cry...Rick was pleading with her to hang on....I was scared...FINALLY the squad came...I told them she was not good!! They went in and took some vitals fast and the cop and one of the paramedics went for the cart and came in and put her on it and took her to hospital fast...sirens screaming.....OMG....found out this morning she was flown to OSU she had a stroke and is now in stable condition. I hope she will be ok and able to come back home again. We love this tenant she is a sweetheart!!! She is about 90...I just let her niece in so she could get things she needs. POA papers etc. Told her to tell Irene that we love her and hope she gets well enough to come back soon!!! Anymore excitement I am going on a 3 day drunk!!!!!!!!!! I swear!!!!!! Night before the dog now Irene!!!!!! Gosh oh Friday!!!! I can't take anymore!!!!!!!

ANYHOW.....happy note....I am now a new Auntie!!! I have a new Nephew Austin Louis 6lbs 12oz 19.5"  Picture of what you can see of him is on FB. Hope she posts a better one of him soon though!!!

Went to Bingo last night and again won nothing...next week is the last one til fall...maybe...I will win then??? HAHA

Cindy glad that you MIL is being kept comfy and family is there to see her. Nancy B has been on FB so guess she is doing ok.

So that is my excitement for today...going to the grocery store in a few minutes so need to go...

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!!

Judy, thanks for the word on Nancy B.

Sure hope your darling tenant recovers fully from her stroke.  Good thing you and Rick were there to get the ambulance called, etc., and to open the door and get in to find her.  Those folks at your apartment complex are sure lucky to have the two of you!

Good morning Cindy P and Judy and all my sweet sistas!

It's a rainy morning here and a good one for sleeping in, which is exactly what I did.  Didn't get up until 10 a.m.!  Wow.  Life without little ones sure is easier!

Cindy, I pray for your MIL and family.  I hope that she can continue to be kept comfortable until her passing.  And I'm glad your son had his opportunity for a visit with her last week.  Those types of visits are very hard, but so necessary for the ones left behind.

Well, yesterday I had a bit of a misadventure with my drainage tube.  The dang thing popped a stitch.  OUCH!!!    I already told y'all what a tender area the tube is in, so you can imagine how much that STUNG me.  This morning I get up and it's just barely still in place.  Butch said he could either remove it for me (although I'm suposed to get it out on Tuesday) or try taping it in place so it doesn't tug and pull more.  I opted for the taping and it feels better now.  But you can bet I'm going to be moving rather GINGERLY for the next two days.  Nothing but my nightgown til Tuesday!

(It feels very weird to go "commando" for a whole week, but hey, we do what we have to do, right?)

Other than that, the discomfort is almost gone.  Jeanne, I understand how you must feel about having more PS.  I tell you, PS is not for sissies!  I had been toying with the idea of a boob job, but not anymore.  As much as I would like to have perky ones again, I will never undergo more surgery unless I just have to!

However, I don't know if y'all noticed this or not, but I have FINALLY lost 100 pounds!!!  Whoop!  For the past three days I have weighed 175, instead of 178, so I'm calling it official.  The PS really did remove 3 pounds of skin from my tummy.  If I can ever get back to the Y, I'm going to do my best to lose another 10 pounds.

We did go into Christie's last night and helped her out with supper and bedtime for the boys.  I swear, Budder has GROWN in the week we've been apart!  Ask me if I miss seeing my precious grandsons everyday!  But you know, it was just right.  We got to visit with them for a couple of hours, and then we only had to drive 30 minutes to get home.  It's quite ideal.

Well, today Butch and I are going to do our taxes.  Bleh, ugh, yuck!  We have to send them off to the tax specialist, so he always files an extension for us past the April 15 deadline, so it doesn't really matter if we file on time or not.  But I'm ready to get them over with.  Y'all wish us luck.  This year is going to be even more complicated than usual, because Butch has been off twice with short-term disability (knee replacement and then bunion surgery), which is probably going to screw up our tax breaks because he hasn't been out-of-country for long enough this year, etc., etc., etc.  I dread it.

Better go have a bite of breakfast? lunch? and then get to it.  Love you all!

Good morning Vickie....so glad Butch was able to tape the tube so you feel better. Happy you will be resting until Tuesday. I will just keep my flab...none of this for me...I have had way too many surgeries in my lifetime.

I slept until 10 myself. What a rotten night I had!! Glad you got some much needed sleep!

I am sure the boys love their new home but miss you and Butch too. It really is better this way for all of you. You haven't said much about how Benny likes his new room?? Budder is too young to understand that yet.

Congrats on your 100 pound weight loss!!! I am trilled for you!!

Good luck getting your taxes completed. It is wonderful to get that out of the way.

I am going to lay down now. Just feeling off today.

Much love and many hugs....connie d

Good morning Cindy and everyone.....

Cindy....don't you just love the smell of fresh rain!! I am so sorry about your MIL. At least she is resting comfortably. Glad your son and grandson were able to visit with her and do some reminiscing as well. I continue to keep her in my prayers.

Nancy B. posts most everyday on Facebook. She seems to be keeping busy and doing well. I wish more would come here and visit with us now and then. Trish hasn't been on again for a few days. Laureen is on Facebook now and then but not real often. Mary and Debbie are absent again. Nice to see that Jeanne stopped in to say hi and update us on her adventures. I got a Facebook friend request from Caroline/grammylou and was so excited about that!! There are others absent as well. I wish they would pop in so we know they are okay. Jennifer can't get on often but it is good to see her here when she can.

Judy....I am so sorry about your tenant. I pray she will be okay and can come back to live there again. I hope you have a very quiet day today. Congratulations on the new nephew!!!

As for me...I went to bed at 6:30 last night. I was up off and on until the wee hours. I would  sleep a bit then wake up again. Having some horrible vivid memories of my past. I am going to have a quiet day today.

Kyleigh was coming over today but isn't feeling well. I will see her Tuesday on her birthday!!  She will be 22 this year. Gosh how time flies! Amanda will be 20 on the 11th. Nic will be 21 on the 23rd. My babies are growing up!! Lucas will be 16 in July and Gracie will be 8 in November!!!

I will check back in later. I know someone else posted....sorry CRS...I am not ignoring you!!

Wishing you all a blessed day. Prayers for many of our beautiful OFF family.

Love and many hugs to all....connie d

Vickie glad you are taking care of yourself. Be careful with that drain. Congratulations on the 100 lbs.

Cindy, hospice is such a blessing when one is going through loss. So glad your family got to visit her.

Oh, Judy,  congrats on the new nephew. I am sure he is a beautiful baby.

Vickie good luck with the taxes.

Connie, so sorry to hear you are struggling with your sleep. I hate that because it affects ever aspect of your life. Hope it improves soon.

I got my Yonanna out of a box. I haven't used it since i moved back here. I am making raspberry today. Have any of you used a Yonanna? It uses only fruit to make a custerd like ice cream.

Lost another pound last week so i am happy.

Sorry if i missed anyone. Wishing all my OFF friends a truly blessed day.

Hello Francine.....It was a beautiful day here today too!!

I am having awful times trying to sleep. I am so tired I feel sick and still can't sleep. I took a shower this morning and collapsed on the bathroom floor.  I have been on that new pain med Gapabentin for a while now. I am gaining weight right and left. I am so puffy and bloated. It is effecting my breathing now too. It is no longer working it's magic either. I have had increased pain for a couple weeks now.  I am going to contact my doctor on Tuesday. She isn't in on Monday's. I want off this now!! I know it is a med that needs to be weened off slowly and watched carefully. I would have done it a week ago in Oregon!

Thanks for caring!

Love and hugs ....connie d

Connie,

Neurontin can be a difficult drug for some people. Please get a hold of your doctor ASAP on Tuesday.  If you get any more sort of breath please call 911 or go to the ER.

I took nuerontin and it did nothing for me. I am taking Lyrica for back pain and diabetic neropathy. It has worked wonders for me.

You may not be able to sleep because you are not breathing well. Have you tried sleeping sitting up. I know it is not the best way to sleep but for now any sleep is good.  Also have you tried Melatonin. You have to take it a couple of hours before bedtime.

I will pray you sleep angels will wrap you in their wings and you wake refreshed.

Blessings
