Tuesday - Tasting Spring Coming!

Good Morning All!!

Woke up early to hear the birds chirping!  Nice and sunny today; although it's not "warm" it certainly is bright and sunny.  I can taste Spring coming.  I checked the weather forecast for the week and it's going to be a beautiful week, and the nights are warming up too.  Nice not to be complaining about the weather.

My only complaint is my kitchen sink clogged up two days ago, and SO is making the problem to be bigger than it is.  When we met, he told me he was a real handyman and could fix just about anything.  Ha!  Two days and the sink isn't fixed and he doesn't want me to pay anyone to have it fixed right now.  I will say he did work on it a bit, but without success.  And he's a very messy worker, leaves things all over the kitchen.  His big idea last night - "Let's just use paper plates and plastic utensils until your next Social Security check comes in on the 26th.  Then we'll have money to pay a plumber."  Hello, I have money to pay a plumber right now.  But he wants to try to get one of our neighbors in to help first.  Told him to do it today, or I'm calling someone.  I explained to cook meals you need to use pots and pans.  He said he would take care of washing them in the tub.  But there's a pile of dirty dishes and pans now that he hasn't touched.  All talk and no action.  That's why I want to start therapy - I've got to resolve the relationship issue.  Wish I had the inner strength to handle it - but I'm using my strength on getting the surgery first!  Oh well, I have learned to "tune him out" and he's not going to spoil my good mood.

Going out to Big Lots today to pick-up a few things - been wanting to go for a while, and today's the day to do it. Having my cup of tea first, then off I go!

Have a good day everyone - I know I'm going to.  Might even pick-up some egg drop soup and chicken wings for lunch/supper - my go-to Chinese meal now that I've given up the buffets.

Good morning Mary and all my OFF sistas!

Mary, you stand your ground with that man.  And yes, you have to save all your strength--mental, physical, emotional--to deal with your upcoming surgery right now!  We are here for you.  You can safely "vent" here because we are a closed community.  Your SO won't be able to read anything you write here.

Well, today is going to be a wild one for me.  Hospital called last night and said I am on the surgery schedule for TOMORROW!!!  I said, "really?" because I haven't heard anything from the PS (plastic surgeon) about it.  I already tried calling the Wound Care Center, but they said Dr. F. won't be in until 10 a.m.  I will have to call back then to confirm it.

BUT--if I AM having surgery tomorrow, I have so many things to do today!  I already have my appointment in San Antonio this morning with the WLS, but then I'll have to hustle back to New Braunfels to complete my labs, see the PS this afternoon at 2 p.m., and figure out what the heck to do about my stupid blood disease.

On the other hand, it would be wonderful to have my surgery this week.  It would give me plenty of time to heal before our vacation in May.

I guess I'll just have to pray about it and leave it all in God's hands.  He's the one who opened this window for me to have the panneculectomy.  So I'll trust that He has a plan for it all to happen.

Would like to write more, but we have to leave here in less than an hour.  Francine, I haven't forgotten you!  I will friend you on FB as soon as I have a chance.  Or you go ahead and friend me.  I'm Vickie Gibson Poe on FB.

Love you all!

Mary,

It drives me nuts when people who don't have fix - it skills try to fix - it!!!!!  Stand your ground with your SO for your own sake, if not his!!!! LOL... after all, your OFF sisters love you, but getting bail money together for you if you hurt might be difficult. ..LOL. Honestly, i hope it gets resolved today.

Vicki,

Good luck with your surgery.  Just remember, there is nothing more important than your health. With that said, there is nothing so important that it cannot be done by someone else or wait for you after surgery.  Just remember,  a panniculectomy is a major surgery so you will need to take it easy when you get home. Don't worry about VW. As long as the surgeon and anesthesiologist know, they will be watchful and treat you if needed.

You will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I had a good day at the gym, 54 mins. 4050 steps and i lost another pound (i say that tentatively because i always wait to see the loss for two weigh in  days in a row before i believe it).

I everyone is well and enjoy and welcoming spring weather.

Blessings,

Francine

Hi Mary and my OFF family:

Not much happening here. It's my weekend and I don't have much energy to do anything, plus no money. So I'm staying inside. It's supposed to get up to 60 today, but I don't think it's going to make it. Only 50 now (which isn't bad). I've got laundry going. That's about it for today.

Vickie, wow, you have a big decision facing you quickly. Good luck with the panni. Way back when, I wanted to do that ... then I opted for the knee replacement. Now the panni is out of the question.

Hope everyone is OK. Mary, I think therapy is a good option. I did it before WLS and several years after. Really helped me.

Have a good day.

Ok i have a rant about men! I am sick of my husband driving or lack of consentrating on his driving! He wont go the speed limit. Goes way under, and has drivers on our tail, wont stay in the lane, im constantly telling him to stay in his lane! I cant handle the stress any more! I dont think he can see! He has macular degeneration. He pays way more attention to the radio than to traffic! So I down right told him it was me driving or else! He is pissed! I dont want to get killed or get into an accident!

Im also going to have my daughter talk to him. Cause it is getting out of hand. I had to tell him five times to speed up in a matter of two miles!

Pray for me cause one of these days i might have to put blind folds on him!!!!!

Vickie -- Good luck with the surgery!  At least you don't have to worry about it for weeks and weeks; it will be over and done.

BTW - Did get to Big Lots today and bought some things I need pre-op:  blender for my shakes, mini cupcake pans, a bento box, measuring cups and spoons.  Also bought some things for the house - new shower curtain and bath mat.  Felt good to be out and about on my own.

Good Evening Everyone,

Very late right now.  Crazy busy day.

Got caught up on some DVRed shows this morning, then picked up Lincoln from preschool at lunch.  Gave him lunch, and we played some games on my laptop, till Colleen picked him up.  Then, I cleaned my kitchen, and had to run to the zoo to make up part of the training I missed Saturday because I was sick.  I got home around 10:00, and have been catching up on e-mails.

I'd appreciate prayers for another one of my son-in-law's brothers and their family.  Travis' wife, Amy, just had their third baby on Saturday.  Little Natalia needs an echocardiogram.  She, and Amy, haven't been discharged from the hospital because of that, even though she was full term, 8 pounds 11 ounces.  Toby and Hunter continue to need prayer as well.  Trent's Mom has been staying at his house, helping him with Hunter.

Love and Hugs,

Trish
