Top o' the mornin' to you all!
I'm glad you kept your appointment. I have a nasty clotting disorder, called Factor V Leiden. It causes my blood to clot, and killed one of my brothers at the age of 40, because he had it, and ended up with a massive pulmonary embolism. I had one, and so did my sister, but we survived. That's why I'm on Coumadin.
Like Twinkles said, this is something that should be on a MedicAlert bracelet. I got my first bracelet prior to my WLS. I lost that one, it was too big for me anyway, in December. My new bracelet mentions that I'm on Coumadin, as well as Gastric Bypass, Asthma and Drug Allergies. I got mine at MedicAlert.org, and pay an annual membership to have them keep a database with all my medications, doctors, allergies, and emergency contacts. My bracelet has my personal number on it, and their phone number. This way, an ER can get all my info with one phone call, if I can't speak for myself. My bracelet has pink and clear crystal beads on it. They don't have to be boring looking.
Hugs,

Vickie,
My daughter was diagnosed with vonwillbrands when she was 11 and has had to be on factor 7 every since. She also has an inhaler that she can use to stop bleeding until she gets to the ER where they give her IV infusions of DDAVP or something else. The disease is hereditary so you should have your girls checked; also it's the female version of hemophilia. The DDAVP infusions do stop the bleeding and when you have surgery, like you said, it will keep things all good. I'm happy you found out what the problem was/is.
Good Evening Ladies!
Vickie - Getting older is better than the other option! Have to admit, tho, there are days I feel really old. But then I think of my Great-Grandmother who lived to be 104 and my two Grandmothers who both lived to 99. My Mom died young at 78. So, I feel like I've got a long way to go once I start taking care of myself.
Judy - What the heck?!!? I can only imagine the stress you are under trying to get good help. Like I said before, cell phones should be banned from work sites (and internet access on work computers). But you would think with the economy like it is, there'd be men knocking your door down for work. I imagine your muscles are tied up in knots when you go to the chiro. I really hope you can find someone good to work for you.
Carla - I've got to get my hood latch replaced - handle is broken but I can use a pair of pliers to grip the broken part to open the hood. Seems there's always something to take care of when you have a car. And I can't imagine you without your hot wheels!
Doctors appointments - so tired of them too. Put off some neurological tests because I was overwhelmed by my Weight Center and PCP appointments. But now that I've completed just about everything for the WLS, I'll reschedule those appointments. I've got to see the eye doctor on the 26th - been a long time since I've had an eye exam, plus I lost one of the lens from my glasses. Also thinking I should start some counseling as I've got some issues to work on.
Have a great day one and all!!
