Top o' the mornin' to you all!
Happy St. Paddy's Day, sistas!
I have to admit, St. Paddy's is not such a big deal here in Texas except for wearing green, and green beer, and dying the San Antonio river green for the Riverwalk, and . . . Well, maybe it is a big deal after all.
I found a recipe for a Green Grits Pie that I'm going to try today. I think it will be like a chess pie, only dyed green. Anyway, I'm gonna try it.
We spent most of yesterday at the new house. Chris is still painting away. There are now 5 different colors upstairs! She has tomorrow off and will start painting the downstairs. I shudder to think! Anyway, we moved more of Chris's stuff from the storage building, and then Mike and Butch went to Mike's apartment to finish moving the last of his stuff out of there. It's still going to be awhile before they get moved in, but the wheels are turning.
Today (and tomorrow and the next day) are filled with doctor's appointments for me. I swear, I have never seen so many doctors in my entire life. Today I go back for a follow-up with the hematalogist to see what she might find wrong with my blood that would have caused all the post-op bleeding. I really don't think there's anything wrong with me, but I'll do this one last follow-up with her.
Tomorrow I go to see the WLS for my annual checkup in the morning. Then I go back to see the plastic surgeon tomorrow afternoon. On Wednesday I go to see my regular doctor for my clearance for surgery. Whew! I is sick of doctors!
Wishing you all a very happy and lucky day! Love you all!
Good Morning Vickie,
My stipid car is at the dealer getting a new hood latch put on! 200.00! down the drain before I even load up to go to Denver tomorrow!!!!! I dont know how it got broken! We havent opened up the hood since we had an oil change a few months ago!
It looks like we are getting a big rain storm today! We need the moisture!
I went on a wild goose chase yesterday. Drove to Orlando to go to a supposed to be a wonderful Farmers Market and we got there and couldnt find it! They closed it at noon and the internet said it was open till three. We got there a little after noon! I eas pissed! Its a two hr drive in crazy traffic! Then we drove 100 miles north east to Brooksville to a friends who was with us her families cemetary! Now that eas cool! It was way in the country amongs orange groves! The smell was to dye for.
So I must of drove over three hundred miles!!!!!

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY my friends.
I had to laugh at your comments about going to the doctor so much. My roommate hates traditional medicine and particularly going to the doctor. She says she has seen more doctors since retiring two years ago than in her entire life including her pregnancy.
Well, i am off to the gym. Will check back later. Oh, almost forgot. The battle of the scales continues. I think i might be winning. If not, the inches are falling off my hips and a** really nicely. Actually had to tie up the draw string in my sweats or lose them... and that's good.
Later all you lucky leprechauns
Top o' the afternoon Vickie and OFF Family.
I was AWOL yesterday. Did not spend much time on the laptop, when I was home. Long morning and afternoon at church, then I had Frankie for the afternoon after that. He slept most of that time, but I did not pick up my laptop at all.
Posted on Facebook how I went to an appointment not wearing green this morning. Except for three years of Catholic school, I have always worn green on St. Patrick's Day. My entire name is freaking Irish, Patricia Reilly. My great grandmother, Catherine Reilly, emigrated in the late 1800's, from Ireland.
Vickie, I go to my hematologist's office multiple time a month, my pain specialist every few months, my family doctor, every couple months, and my ENT every six months, or more. Plus, I get labwork done regularly, because I'm on Coumadin. I'm so over the fact that I see these doctors so often, I don't care. I'm just grateful I have good doctors. I hope your hematologist gives you good news.
Hugs,
Trish

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSS
Judy,
My BIL has hired high school students that are a part of a work study program to help with odd jobs, maintenance, and some rehab projects. Don't know if there is any thing like tht around you, but it might be worth a shot. Since their grades nd graduating is dependent on it, they tend to show up. Oh, my BIL did have to send in reports on performance but nothing too complicated.
I think getting good help is a pain. And as far as the phone, provide a lock box for the phone. You keep the box, employee keeps the key. Just a thought. Good luck.
Okay, y'all were right and I was wrong: I did need to go to the hematologist. I have some weird thing called Von Willibrand's Disease. It's a clotting disorder, which explains why I had all the bleeding after my surgery in December. I never had bleeding happen before, so I didn't have VWD before. She said it just sometimes develops as we age.
Anyway, there's medication for it. We are going to do a trial run within the next 5 days to try it out and see if it works for me. I have to have an infusion of this new med, then wait 30 minutes, and then draw a blood sample to see if the clotting factor for VW has improved. If so, great. I can receive this medication about 30 minutes prior to any surgeries and I should be just fine.
Haven't had time to google VWD yet, but I will tonight after supper. Hmmph! I don't think I like getting older.
Vicki,
I am so glad you kept your appt. Do you have as medical alert necklace or bracelet. With VW it is very important should you find yourself in a medical emergency and not be able to speak for yourself. The first episode of one of the best medical dramas on tv, Monday Morning, had VW as a core issue. Any way, for your own safety i would encourage you to get one or add to the one you have.
