After Midnight so it's now the 11th
I had a great day today. Went to the gym and did 40 mins on nu step and 10 mins at a higher intensity and well over 2750 steps.
My roommate is struggling to find a PCP. I think she may have found one. Please say a prayer for her. she has terrible heart disease and she really needs heart surgery. Unfortunately she hates traditional medicine and is putting it off. I can tell she is having problems so she may not have a choice about surgery.
Well it is late. Going to watch the end of Perry Mason on the oldies channel. So i will wish you all Good Night, sweet dreams and many blessings.
Good Morning, Middle of the Night, Twinkles and OFF Family,
I'm up late. I ended up getting a prescription for my back, and started feeling better around supper time. So, I tried to play catch up, and now can't sleep. I'm going to regret this tomorrow.
I need some advice, or suggestions. A sweet family at church is in the process of finalizing an adoption. They have two boys that Mom gave birth two, and are adopting their three year old foster child. The little girl's mom is single, and addict, with other children by other men. Their other kids are boys, ages six and four. It's a cross-racial adoption. Anyway, they are throwing an adoption party next week, and I need some gift suggestions. I really have no clue what to give. My mind is a total blank. I'd like to come up with something special.
Tuesday will definitely be busy. I have two appointments in the afternoon, thankfully, they're both in the same building. Then, I must head straight to the zoo. I have to shadow, or observe, docents doing tours and other activities, prior to completing my training. Tomorrow, I'm observing high school students learning about careers at the zoo, from 4:00 to 5:00.
Right after that, I must get home immediately, because I have Bible study at 7:00.
So, I better get some sleep, or I won't be going anywhere.
Hugs, Prayers and tons of Love,
Trish

What about books. I found three at our library. Two for parents one for the children. " 20 things adoptive parents need to know to succeed" by Susan Eldridge. Adopted for life : the priority for Christian families and churches" by Russell Moore, might be good for the parents and maybe Bible study. God found us you " by Lisa Tawn Bergen. If you have a local Christian bookstore, they may have these or have a selection to choose from. Hope this helps. Now off to the gym and to get the oil changed in the van.
Thanks for the great ideas. I have an Amazon Prime membership, so I'm going to look there first.
I'm a huge fan of books as gifts.
Hugs,
Trish

Hello sistas!
Went and donated a quart of my blood this morning for my annual WLS checkup next week. 10 vials is a lot of blood!
Getting ready now to go see the plastic surgeon about the hole in my belly. Please pray, cross your fingers, swing chickens, or whatever that she can close it up and I can put this chapter behind me!
After that, we are going down to the new house and I'm going to measure all the windows for new blinds. (Plus I'll get to check out Benny's room and see what it looks like since Chris painted it on Sunday. Gotta find my sunglasses first though! LOL! It's "superhero blue". I keep picturing Superman's outfit.)
Prayers for everyone and all requests today. Connie, sweetie, wishing you a good flight and a great trip out West!
Love you all!
Vickie....I hate them taking all that blood but it is good! That means they get reports on everything. I will be praying your WLS appointment goes well!!
Best of luck and prayers too for your appointment with the plastics doctor! I hope he can get that closed up once and for all!!!
I think Benny will love his new blue room. That is a fun kids color!! Maybe she will decorate it in Super heroes.
Thanks for the wishes. I will post here when I arrive in Portland. Have a great rest of the week.
Love and lots of hugs.... connie d
Good Afternoon Ladies - Hope you're all having a good day!
Well, got a call from the Sleep Apnea doctor. She still doesn't have the full results, but what she has indicates I have mild sleep apnea. Says she wouldn't even recommend a machine, except for the fact I'm having surgery. So looks like I'll have to use it until after surgery, then probably can discontinue it. I happened to go to the medical equipment supply company to return the walker I got (it was huge and weighed more than more - not practical at all). They also supply the apnea machines for my insurer, and they said it's usually a rent-to-own system, but if doctor says I can discontinue use, they will take it back. So now I wait for the insurance referral and then will get the machine, and have to use it for a month before surgery.
I also spoke with surgeon's secretary - she called to check on status of sleep apnea test results so she'll know when to schedule surgery for. She indicated she would be submitting paperwork to Medicare. Very confusing to me because I have Medicare and then a Medicare Supplement plan. Medicare is easier to get approval because they don't have a 6-12 month supervised diet restriction that the Supplemental plan does. The diet was one of my concerns.
So - long story short - surgery should be in about 6 weeks. {{{Doing the Happy Dance!}}}
Mary,
I am so tickled and happy for you. I had to go in for a full blow sleep lab before my surgeon would move forward. I have used a CPAP machine for 8 years. I needed a new one so i was ok with the test, then the sleep doctor want to see how i was doing on the CPAP. I nearly went off the rails. Finally. Convinced the sleep doc to send the lab results and the dme company that i had the machine, jeeeees. Unbelievable. So, when i say i am happy for you i really mean it.
Happy happy dance!!!
